I think it's an idea that goes through some people's minds...Will the Sun ever burn out? Well, this movie goes with that premise. A crew is going to the sun to "re-ignite" it. The cast includes: -Rose Byrne (Cassie), Cliff Curtis (Searle), Chris Evans (Mace), Cillian Murphy (Capa), Hiroyuki Sanada (Kaneda), Benedict Wong (Trey), and Michelle Yeoh (Corazon) As with many movies set in space, problems occur. The movie shows how the various crewmembers deal with the isolation of a long voyage in outer space. I would recommend this movie for repeat watches.

Purchased this based on suggestion to my Moon movie purchase...read reviews and bought it. It was ok, not sure it was worth more than a rent but the sale price made it ok.

This movie is about the sun dieing and the Earth's countries coming together to take a big nuke to launch into the sun to bring it back to life. This is a good sci-fi flick.

Yeah it goes down hill after the first hour but, doggone it this has some absolute sci-fi greatness in it. One of the best premises ever. Gonna watch it again just to make sure. For $5 and a chance to upgrade the picture quality to Blu Ray, this is exactly what dumpster diving in the cut out bin is made for. It's even more fun than finding your 4K need to have on sale for 19.99

This is an awesome flick for the Sci-Fi oriented crowd. Great shots of the massive spaceship, the Icarus 2 on it's journey towards a rondevu with the Sun. Twists and turns in the plot keep you on edge throughout the entire movie. Probably one of the best films of the past decade. Not only of the Sci-Fi genre, but in all aspects, acting, script, editing and cinematography.

decent show but nothing to write home about. i might give it a second go but then again maybe not.

The movie kept me very interested until the very end. The whole premise of the sun dying and mankind needing to detonate a nuclear bomb to restart it seems a bit far fetched but im not a scientist either. The visuals were great also. The only gripe i have is that the main vilan was shot with that shaky camera style so you really dont see him that well. Shaky camera styles allways make me a bit dizzy.

This movie sticks with you. It is the type of movie that I wasn't able to decide immediately if I liked. I had some things to mull over - not the least of which is that it sometimes doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Over time, I realized that I love it, and every time I watch it I pick up some new detail that I didn't catch before.

This is one of the best Sci-fi movies i have ever seen. It is truly a great achievement. The story may be simple but it holds a significant value to all of us. The effects were mind blowing, the flow of the story is just great. I wish more people would watch it and understand.. The climax of the movie is one of the best parts. This is definitely a collection worth getting.

...but still a must see. Special effects serve the story but could be better.

From director Danny Boyle, Sunshine is a brilliant and underrated sci-fi film about a team of scientist on a last ditch effort to save the Earth after the sun starts to die. The movie is brilliant, has some incredible visuals, and the cast gives great performances

After hearing about this sleeper sic-fi film on several different film websites must see lists, I added it to my Netflix queue. 6 months later Netflix still hadn't delivered the film, so I purchased it from Best Buy. It was well worth my $12. The complex story was worth the money alone.
