This game was so much fun on the Wii U and it's even better here. Characters move faster than they did on the Wii U version and the inclusion of Bowser's Fury is almost worth it on its own. Overall this is one of the best Mario games ever made and is one of the best games on Switch.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a fun and creative game that mixes classic Mario platforming with new, exciting ideas. The main 3D World part is full of colorful levels, smooth controls, and clever challenges that are great for both solo play and multiplayer with friends. The power-ups, like the Cat Suit, make exploring each stage even more enjoyable, and the overall gameplay feels fast, polished, and satisfying.
Bowser’s Fury takes things in a different direction with a big open world that you can freely explore. Teaming up with Bowser Jr. to collect Cat Shines while avoiding giant Fury Bowser makes the game feel intense and unpredictable in a good way. The graphics look fantastic—especially the lighting and weather effects—and the whole experience feels like a fresh take on the Mario series. It’s easily one of the most fun and impressive Mario games on the Switch.

Pleasantly surprised when I realized this was essentially 2 games in one! Was so focused on finishing the 3D world part that I missed bowser’s fury! Nintendo has outdone themselves with this game! 10/10 recommend.

Super Mario 3D World was THE Mario on the Wii U and was a fun take on 2D Mario games with elements of Galaxy and other 3D Mario games. This game is relatively short but gets challenging in its post game levels. The big powerup and theme throughout is cat suit mario which is very fun to play as and the cat themed enemies. It remains relatively unchanged and if you have played it before you are playing the same game for better or for worse. That said it's great for folks who never had a Wii U. Its Bowser's Fury mode is not enough to be a $60 game on its own right but is a wonderful look at what Mario could and probably should be. A logical evolution of what Odyssey gave us. It's open and filled with quick and fun missions to get shines to its own bopping themes. Overall definitely a welcome addition to the Switch.

Super Mario 3D World is such a fun take on the Mario 3D platforming style. It builds off the "3D Land" 3DS game and adds new power-ups, more characters and abilities, and a much more diverse set of level designs. Each level is unique with the main objective of reaching the finish flag pole being fairly fun and straightforward for many, but still challenging. The real fun is finding all of the hidden pathways and collectables.
Bowser's Fury is an excellent concept game built in the same style as 3D World with the same power ups and abilities, but you are fighting alongside Bowser Jr. to uncover many different islands and save his dad - and everything is cat-themed! The open-world gameplay of this mini-title is so fun to play, and I hope eventually future mario games will expand on this. The 100 cat shines aren’t too much of a challenge, but can provide a fun adventure and many hours of gameplay.

One of my favorite 3D Mario games

I was so glad to see this game make it to the Switch. Mario 3D World is an excellent game on its own, with a ton of levels structured to flow like a level in a 2D Mario game, rather than the more open sandboxes of most 3D Mario games. The multiplayer is a ton of fun, and the addition of the 3rd dimension means you're jumping all over each other a lot less than in the other console New Super Mario Bros entries. Bowser's Fury is a great addition, but if you already played Mario 3D World on the Wii U, it's probably not worth the $60 on its own if you're content to just play the original on Wii U.

This game is a lot of fun and especially fun in multiplayer. I have played both locally and online with friends and both times were very seamless and a blast with everyone. You can select which characters you play as OR do a random assignment each world so there’s no worry about it being random all the time as I’ve read in another review. It was actually best we assigned ourselves as one of my friends is color blind. This made it easier for him to play as Toad or Peach since they look completely different from Mario and Luigi.
I am beyond impressed with Bowser’s Fury though. I played and beat Super Mario 3D and went straight to BF with some hesitations. However I’m glad I stuck with it because I honestly had a lot of fun with the gameplay. It’s one big open world which was executed pretty well! Each island is “a world” with its own goals for Cat Shines (this game’s stars) and there isn’t a need to go back to a main area to bounce into a new world. All you have to do is go to a different island! Also the mechanic of Bowser appearing at various times was a good touch to the gameplay.
Overall, I was impressed with it. I’m hoping future Mario installments utilize the concept of Bowser’s Fury. Definitely recommend.

This is one of the best Mario games ever in my opinion. It’s a lot of fun with great level design and is accessible for all ages. It’s very easy in the beginning but later worlds and levels can be very challenging, especially when you try to collect all green stars and stamps. Bowsers Fury is also a lot of fun too and you can play it right from the start if you want to dive into that first.

Great pair of games.
Mario 3d World makes a pretty good party game with up to 4 players. Any more than 2 and it gets really hectic. The fixed camera style is fine but can be difficult depending what you're trying to accomplish. The translation of touch controls from the wii-U version work fine.
I prefer Bowser's Fury due to the camera position and the open world.
