Customers are saying

Customers admire the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition Controller for its compatibility with both the Switch and GameCube, its nostalgic feel that reminds them of the original GameCube controller, its high-quality construction, and its overall ease of use. While some customers mentioned the need for an adapter, the positive feedback on the controller's compatibility, feel, and quality outweigh this concern.

I do not understand the hate regarding this controller at all as I I have had nothing but a good time using the ones that I have. The shell of the controller is now a matte plastic instead of that glossy feel of the original and is easier to grip. The controller is a few feet longer than an OG one as well. Solid 10/10.

Great controller that I bought for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Love the fact that it also works on my Gamecube, Wii, and Wii U as well. Feels just like the original controller.

Still not made to be the same as the OGC

The controller materials are not as durable as the ogc. The matte feel however is to my liking as my ogc always slippery after long game play. The most notable drawback to this smash ultimate GameCube controller is the input timing of commands. I have to input commands a whole lot earlier than the ogc. It's as if there was a lag input in the communication signals. Hopefully, the other smash ultimate GameCube controller aren't like this and I got one of the lower quality checked ones. Other than that it's worth the investment compared to over $130.00 ogc.

When I received the package, nowhere on the envelope did it indicate it was from Best Buy. It wasn't until I opened it that the packing slip actually had the logo on it. As soon as I opened it, I found that the box was horribly beat up, there were tears in the cardboard and it looked like someone dropped the thing out of an airplane. I have yet to test it but just immediately after taking it out of the box, the controller feels cheap and the plastic feels like that of a third party controller and not the same smooth plastic as the original Gamecube controllers (I have a couple of the originals to compare side-by-side). For a controller that was licensed by Nintendo, this seems like they just outsourced to a knockoff manufacturer and slapped their license on it to save money. Not worth 30 dollars in my opinion. After I get a chance to test the controller out, if it doesn't handle properly I'm going to return it.
