Quick, fast, and light
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have no need to game and only need a fast web browsing or pure productivity machine. The Pro X is prefect, with a bigger screen, better battery life, LTE, and lighter profile its hard to fault the Pro X for day to day applications. Its not designed to be a powerhouse and it shouldn't be treated as one. Its an amazing computer that is prefect for school and day to day use.

Almost there!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This compact computer is NEARLY perfect. It is light weight, thin, has lte connectivity for use on the go, and just about everything else you could ask for in a portable machine. However, while software compatibility HAS gotten better, there are still drawbacks while trying to run some programs created for Intel and AMD processors. These issues have software fixes, but it is taking some time for them to be viable. That said, for 90% of the population, this is significantly better than other tablets on the market, just make sure you do your due diligence.

Great for my purposes.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not computer savvy so I can't speak from much of a technical perspective, just my own basic usage. The main thing I purchased this for was to take notes. I like to go through my study course on my laptop, while taking notes on the tablet (using the slim pen). If I want to take snapshots from the course, I can open up OneNote on my laptop, paste in the snapshot, and it instantly syncs with OneNote on my tablet. I can then add notes to the snapshot or just continue with my notes. If I want to type notes on the tablet, I can do that too, either with the touchscreen keyboard or the keyboard cover (which I also have and recommend). My laptop is also a touchscreen, so really I could take hand-written notes using just the laptop, but then I'd have to split the screen and everything would be small. The Pro X, for me, just makes it a lot easier. That said, it isn't perfect for taking notes. More often than I would like, while I'm writing, my palm will cause OneNote to minimize or will bring up the keyboard randomly, and it's an annoying disruption. It isn't constant or anything, but it happens several times each session, especially the on-screen keyboard popping up. I love the LTE connectivity. I'm with Verizon and was easily able to get a SIM card for this. Popped it in, was good to go. I use Trend Micro for virus protection, which I couldn't install on the Pro X due to the ARM processor. I think that's the only app limitation I've encountered so far. I have no complaints about the battery life. Once traveling picks back up, I can foresee using it at conferences, and I believe it would easily last through the day. I think this tablet is capable of a lot more than I use it for. It absolutely could not take the place of a laptop, but as long as you purchase it with that understanding, I think you'll be happy.

Great product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop/ tablet. I love that you have the option of how you want or need to use it. Touch screen and keyboard with stylist (sold separately) are a great addition if you want to use it as a laptop forneasuer typing. Lighy weight and sleek deaign means you can takenit anywhere you need to go without it being bulky or a pain to carry. If you want something that is lighter than a laptop but can be used as one then this is the way to go. There is a USB adapter that yoi can buy so you can plug in flash drives, a mouse or anything else that would require a USB port. Enjoy!

Very happy with battery life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace M3 Surface Pro 5th generation. Very happy with performance. Only issue I had with app compatibility due to the ARM processor was older versions of Office 2010 and 2013. I was able to install both and they were running but issue was that I couldn't get them to activate the licenses. Office 365 which was preinstalled works fine though. Battery life has been much better than the Intel Surface Pro. I am getting about 8 hours of battery life.

Good on the go tablet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with this tablet for work and leisure. I also got the keyboard and pen to go with it. The quality of the touch screen is good. I went with this tablet for work to be able to take a picture of the job site write notes on the picture and dimensions send it back to the office while still on the job site. At home I wanted to relax on the couch with something other the my phone to surf the internet and not a laptop. The keyboard adds the ability to use the tablet as a laptop which is great when I'm at my desk.

Perfect Tablet Replacement
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.CONTEXT: I bought this to replace my Samsung Tab S4 which I used on the go for media consumption and light web browsing. MEAT & POTATOES: The price point of this is close to what a new Tab S7+ would be but suits my use WAY more: - External display is handled just like any other Windows PC; SIMPLE - Web browsing is seamless as you would expect on a PC - Multi-tasking completely takes the cake compared to what you can do on Android (even in Dex) - Type Cover (sold separately) is leagues better in ergo and quality compared to Samsung's offerings (also sold separately) - Access to more programs; even though x86 apps are emulated, perf isn't bad as long as you are realistic. - Comparable standby times to my Tab S4 - LTE on a Windows machine is LIBERATING; even on future beefier laptops, I would want this going forward. THE BAD SIDE: - Windows Updates; not big for me, but infamously hated - Potential compat. issues with certain Windows programs; haven't run into this yet, but it is possible. More likely with devices that need specific drivers. CONCLUSION: Don't pick this up if you are looking into media creation or heavy programs (Photo/Video Editing, CAD, etc.) Media consumption, web browsing and text editing (MS Office etc.) are more in line of what this is well suited for. Do yourself a favor and get this connected to LTE. Complete game changer!

Some programs don't work
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great battery, 4g LTE is perfect, but uses an ARM CPU which makes a lot of standard windows programs not work properly. If all 64-bit programs I use actually worked and I didn't have to find alternatives itd be 5*

It's good but not great
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tablet is beautiful, the design is exquisite. You can't install all apps because it doesn't have intel processor. The LTE works fine but not great, better than previous versions of surfaces. I would recommend this for work, buy the keyboard and you have a full laptop.

Mr. Yongxin Zhu
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been working out quite often and what's hard for me is I can't get connected when I really want to. I do have a laptop computer with me, but my laptop needs wifi to get connected. I thought my laptop is too old to have a cellular function and later found out that probably no laptop has such function. Then someone told me that pad has cellular link and if I want to, I can get a keyboard to make pad and keyboard work together as a laptop computer. I started to look around and compared different pads. I finally decided to purchase Surface Pro X. It's light weight and easy to carry around. Its screen is not big but is much bigger than my IPhone. Since then, I can get connected when I 'm on the go. Also, the connection is always reliable and fast, even more reliable and faster than the computer I have in my office.

Not quite the replacement I hoped for...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the construction of the new design, enough so that I picked up one of these to use for work, simply to link with OneNote with the ability to take hand-written notes in meetings and while working on projects. I also have a couple of i5 / 8GB Surface Pro 7s and really enjoy these offerings from Microsoft. The only real complaint I have about the Surface line is the value for the money. For $1000 or more they really should include a keyboard, pen, and a dock. I only buy my Surface units as open-box buys, I can't justify the suggested retail price for these. I bought the Pro X only because I found it as an open-box bargain, picking it up for a little over $400 in like-new condition. For the normal $999 I wouldn't have touched it, not being an Intel chip. ARM seems like it performs well but the compatibility still isn't there yet and you'll find many apps missing from the Microsoft Store, and several of the apps that were there, weren't compatible with ARM. Quite a few of the apps I have on my home Windows laptops aren't compatible so I can't use them which leaves me dedicating this Surface strictly to work and having to buy a Surface Pro 8 for my home and entertainment use. Again, I waited until a good open-box deal came around for the SP8 as well. So far, I've found I can't use Plex, Sirius XM, iHeartRadio, and a few other apps that I use frequently. Microsoft now has SQ2 versions out but still without compatibility of a lot of legacy apps that people still use, I can't see them selling these much longer. I just hope Microsoft doesn't abandon purchasers by halting support when they stop producing ARM versions. These units also have a cellular modem built in and I do take advantage of that with a minimal data plan so I can sync when there's no internet around. It works well, but I'll likely dump that extra service soon as I discovered my cellular carrier, T-Mobile gives me 20GB of wifi hot-spot data each moth as part of my current plan.

Pleased with purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine works great for me. I bought the cellular version so I can easily send invoices during the day. I can jump on the internet without linking to my phone or using public wifi. I currently use QuickBooks online and had issues with invoice formatting between my desktop and an iPad not being consistent (I couldn't use a custom format on the iPad and could only send invoices in the default format). I don't have that issue anymore. This works so well for me I don't really have to use the desktop much anymore either. This machine should be able to actually load QuickBooks software on it and have it run properly and be able to get away from the monthly subscription for QuickBooks. I am not on this thing alot during the day so a single charge lasts me for days...since it gets used as much in the work truck as at the office I like the smaller 13" screen - it is a good size for a mobile device.

The Microsoft Surface Pro X, delightful surprise.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Surface Pro X is a delightful surprise, the screen is vibrant, beautiful with beautifully thin bezels it also has cellular LTE connectivity included. I have been using Apple iPad's since they came out in 2010 so I was a little nervous to change; I find the Surface Pro X easy to use and familiar. The battery lasts me all day while streaming videos over WiFi, overall this is an excellent replacement or alternative to carrying a full sized computer.

Very nice general purpose tablet.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great solution for general use. Great for web content, MS Office document creating/editing and basic media consumtption (movies, music ,etc.). LTE provides always on the interent experience and thats nice. Not a good solutuon for developers or large content creators (large videos, CAD). Consider 16GB and 256 model for anything other than general home or business use. Keep in mind it uses a different architecture than Intel x86.

Perfect for remote SAP consulting
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The main plus I bought the Pro X for is LTE. I am a SAP consultant so what is basic for me is to install: (1) Office 365 (check) (2) Drive Cloud. I used BOX but it does not allow it to be installed on Pro X. I investigated and the one that did let it install without a problem was iCloud. (check) (3) Fortinet to connect to the SAP of various clients. In the Microsoft Store is the fortinet, it is installed without problem and connects perfectly to the VPN. (check) (4) MS Project. I installed Project 2007 which is 32 bit and it installed and works without problem (check) (5) SAP LOGON. The ultimate test, I installed the SAP Logon version 7.2 (I like it better than the newer versions). It was installed without problem and connects to SAP just like other computers. (check). In conclusion, it is 100% functional and enjoying all the advantages of the Pro X. Now that everything has worked for me, I will buy the keyboard.

Great Device, LOVE THE LTE FREEDOM
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this device. Great screen, everything from touch to keyboard input is very responsive. And then being able to use the LTE feature gives me so much more freedom to get more done anywhere from the couch to just being in the park without having to worry about connecting to a hotspot. Now I need to get a pen for the device to complete the separation from using so much paper in my life.

Outstanding design but sw compatibility issues
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful design - wish Microsoft had continued the Pro X form-factor. SQ1 processor is not the fastest but did not really have concerns with regular Office apps. It's about equivalent speed to 8th gen Intel CPU's. However, I had to return it because Box drive does not run on ARM and I absolutely needed it for work. All other apps ran ok, even most games

Beautiful!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing looking device; perfectly compact and light weight. There are a lot of reviews focusing on the limitations of this device, however as a standard user I have yet to encounter any. I use this for work and I will have as many as 8-12 webpages open on 2 separate browsers; 5 different applications; and playing a video all at the same time. I don’t notice a lag whatsoever. There is a caveat: When I purchased the SPX I adjusted the settings to optimize the ram usage. Looking back I should have gotten the 16g Ram however I would have done this anyway since I don’t like wasted space. If your not doing graphic design or video editing, this devise could be a great option. If your constantly on the go be aware that it will require recharging after a day of heavy work. This is in my opinion where the SPX lacks. I would like a device that I don’t have to think about. Other than that part, I am happy with my purchase. Get the 16 gig!
