Great Surface potable computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This version of the Surface lineup is lighter than the other models. Some were saying it’s much lighter than the Pro Models. I have the Surface Pro, and the Surface X is lighter, but not that much lighter in my opinion. The wake up time and log-in is insanely fast for a PC. When I press the power button coming out of standby mode, the unit wakes up immediately. About the time I adjust the kickstand, it has already logged me in with Windows Hello and has loaded the Desktop. Running applications is not it’s strong suit due to the Arm processor. I’ve run into issues where it would not install a few of the apps I had on my Surface Pro model. Some of the printer apps I downloaded and installed online worked, while some didn’t. The HP windows app I tried to install would not work. However, I was able to install the HP app from the Windows Store which worked out. The Microsoft Office apps work well with no issues. Many apps I use tend to have a bit of lag. The one thing I really like about this unit is that it’s fanless. I got to a point where I disliked using my Surface Pro because the fans kept coming on in high gear. Especially while watching YouTube videos and streaming media. With this unit I can watch numerous videos without having to worry about he fans coming on. I would still recommend getting the Surface Pro model if you want the most power. This unit is great for use in quiet environments without having to to worry about those annoying fans coming on.

Perfect Mobile Office
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had this for 3 years now, and I can say without a doubt my work would be so much harder without this! Between the onboard SIM for data, the fact it runs Office super fast and the fact I can actually do Bluebeam ISO sketches in the field and have them instantly sync to my office is amazing. 10/10 recommend to every other Inspector I meet.

A Powerful Machine That Can Replace Your Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Surface Pro X 13" Touch Screen is a powerful machine that can, when paired with the signature keyboard and slim pen, replace your laptop for the average user. The 8 Gb of RAM is more than enough to drive the applications you need every day, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. With a 256 Gb SSD drive, file access is quick and painless. * Setup of the Surface Pro X is simple and quick so you will be up and running in no time. * The device is light and very portable so is great for travel or for use on the couch. * With average use, the battery life last as long as advertised. * The display is stunning and clear Overall, if you are looking for a great, lightweight, powerful laptop replacement, consider the Microsoft Surface Pro X. You won't be disappointed.

Almost Perfect!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used at least three previous generations of Surface devices and the Pro X came with some fantastic changes. The slim form, display, USBC, battery life, keyboard/pen are all perfect. I have been an iPad user since the first generation. When the iPad Pro came out I thought it was the laptop replacement I was looking for. I was wrong. The iPad was and is still a tablet despite the addition of some laptopish features. On the other hand the Surface devices I have used were more like a laptop that wanted to be a tablet. The Surface Pro X has blurred the line between tablet and laptop. I love the pen interaction. I have made an effort to go completely paperless and this device, with MS OneNote and Adobe Acrobat, make this possible. I now reach for my Surface Pro X every time I have a conference call, attend a meeting, or attend a conference. I sometimes use it to jot down random notes while at my desk...my preference for this is my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+...mainly because of the quick login. This device is the most perfect travel companion (device) I have used as of 4/7/2020. Microsoft made some sacrifices with the Surface Pro X primarily in the CPU. This device has been superb until I needed it to preform more like a laptop. Using the multiple desktop function I have been working remotely for four weeks. I keep a VMWare Horizon Client session on one screen, Chrome full screen on another (always 6-7 tabs open), MS Teams, OneNote, and a soft phone application, and the Surface Pro X just can hang and some proprietary applications will not install/run on the ARM CPU. I find myself going back to my 2018 MacBook Air. Yes I constantly touch the screen expecting a response...which never happens. The Intel CPU makes all the difference in the world. So, I am still looking for that perfect combo device. The processor is generally good but not up to the challenge of all-day-every-day work. My single biggest complaint about all generations of the Surface Pro devices is the kick stand. I do really like the versatility it provides it just doesn't work well on my lap...hence the Almost Perfect.

Overheated within 30 mins of unboxing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited about this product and was waiting all day for the UPS man to arrive with it. Within 30 mins of having it, it overheated and froze for a solid 4 hours and now it won’t turn on. I’m so bummed about this - I went with it because it had new technology and I was ready to give it a go, I did some more reading and found that this is very common. Best Buy - how can you help me with this? I have a brand new product that I’ve had less than 12 hours and it’s broken.
