SVS PB300 Best Buy subwoofer review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st of all my product arrived damaged it was just the metal screen cover but when I contacted Best Buy they basically told me to take a hike. They wouldn’t provide me with any help to get a replacement. So I’ll no longer be making large purchases from them. The sub is decent, I was expecting more of power from it based on its price point.

To anyone debating this versus its sealed version
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, this is definitely in a category in its own that justifies stepping up from the cheapy entry-level subwoofers on the market, and one quick sign straight away is that it kicks on more often when calibrated properly because it extends into lower frequencies that it's entry-level market counterparts, and it's outrageously powerful, punchy, deep, and doesn't seem to let up its lower-end integrity or might anywhere. But to address my title/summary, I had a roughly equivalent sealed SVS Ultra 13 for quite a while before this ported version, and I went that route because it was supposed to be more "musical." Well as far as I am concerned, this is just as musical, and is now my clear preference over the sealed version, and I think a lot of it has to do with feeling just way more powerful, like it's free to handle outrageous bass with no chains on while still feeling punchy and musical. I am happy to recommend this over the sealed unless you don't ever need more volume. This is outrageously overkill for most needs I would argue.

Bringing the boom
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow is all that I can say about this sub. Paired with a Klipsch Dolby Atmos towers, surrounds and center channel, along with a Denon receiver and 85" Sony LED TV and I have the theater of my dreams. This sub punches low and hard. I haven't even scratched the surface of this subs potential, and plan to tinker with the app features to fine-tune even further. To be clear, this isn't just obnoxious bass for the sake of bass. For movies it brings actions scenes to life, and even handles music without "boominess" and drowning out mid and high details from the towers. Ported subs can often sound muddy to my ears, but this sub checks off almost all of my boxes. The only downfall (and frankly unavoidable) is the size; this thing is massive. If you have the space and want one of the best all-around subs on the market, this is it.

Fantastic SVS sub
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This SVS sub is unbelievable. It replaced a REL Storm III sub that was great for music but not so great with blu-ray video. Right away I could hear and feel a difference in sound quality. The SVS phone app makes it easy to tweak settings and comes with default settings for music and movies. I also got the foam inserts from SVS that plug the two ports. They make some subtle difference for music. I do recommend tuning your system if you have something like Audyssey. You will be happy with this sub.

Worth every single penny
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This makes move night extremely enjoyable. I can't get over how low and clean this thing plays. When I play music I find myself cranking up the volume and get to hear bass I have never heard.

PB 3000 Delivers
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sub sound great for music and hits unbelievably hard for movies. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the port plugs were included in the box and I didn't have to do a request from SVS. I thought I would hate the metal front cover but I ended up really liking it. It looks better in person than any pictures I've seen. I have cement floors with a large open room so I needed something that has some real oomph. The bass just fills the room and feels so thick that would could cut it with a knife. If you want to do movies get the ported version. The app is really well done. It's nice to be able to make changes without getting up from my seat.

Monster bass
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beast! Dial it in using the app and this sub performs flawlessly with movies in my home theater and with music on my Marantz integrated amp. I added the SVS isolation feet to handle vibration and sometimes use port plugs for music listening mainly to tighten up the sound of some types of music like jazz fusion. It’s pretty heavy 82lbs but ships at 97lb so something to consider when bringing it home. There are very few better subs than SVS at any price. I got ported because I use for movies and music. I went to YouTube and ran every bass test I could find. Apparently those tests are not accurate but they give any sub a workout and this SVS beast performed perfectly. I did have to dial it in a few times at high volume (over 90db). ONCE I LEARNED HOW TO USE THE APP nothing rattled it. If I was only concerned with music I wouldn’t have gotten ported. That’s why I use port plugs and although not a perfect solution at 60 yrs. Old I doubt I can tell the difference. The app works great and I suggest going to YouTube and watch some SVS videos on how best to dial it in. You can also call SVS directly. They are one of the best companies I’ve come across as far as return policy, customer service, audio advice and access. They actually pick up the phone and walk you through what ever issue you have.

Subwoofer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best subwoofers at $1000-$2000! This sub does not disappoint and it is top quality built. I have had this for a year now and it shakes the house. This one added sounds even better making my setup dual subs. It hits hard and is great for my home theater setup. I recommend this sub to anyone that loves bass.

Great Home Theater Sub!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a failed Klipsch I had for 11 years. This big SVS is another level! Big room filling bass that will go right through you! The mobile app is great for tweaking. I also have a big Denon receiver with room correction! Highly recommended!!!

You want clean clear Bass? Get it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Klipsch high end surround sound system that unfortunately over powered my dual RW-12ds. I originally wanted dual PB ultras, but I just didn’t have the space for them. I went with 2 PB-3000s and got to say I’m glad I did. Very clean and clear Bass that you’ll feel in your bones. One issue I have is that both subs came with very small amount of damage on the back due to poor packaging. If you spend $1400 On a sub it should be packaged better.

Great sub woofer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One great subwoofer. I tested the speaker with two of my test disc's: The 1812 Overture on a Telarc CD and Apocalypse Now (when they dropped the napalm bombs). I was not disappointed. It rocked the room. The speaker is very heavy so once it is in place that is where it's going to stay. But, no problem, because through the magic of Bluetooth and my cell phone using the SVS app there was no need to move the speaker to get to the controls. What I am not sure of is whether using two SVS 2000 or two SVS 1000 speakers would have given the same results. In my case I really had no choice because of the lack of room.

I found Goldilocks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In total I have had 4 different SVS models purchased and in my home for evaluation. My living room is about 5000 cubic feet and has all the usual wife decorations. The least expensive was a used set of 25-31 PC-Plus Cylinders. They sounded great, but were not too decor friendly and with no phone app control, which made making adjustments quite difficult both in my placement and for the fact I'm running 2 channel stereo with no sound adjustments whatsoever. Then I got a smoking deal on an outlet SB 16 Ultra in gloss black. It was beautiful and powerful, but I realized that I would need two and that would be expensive and require a lot of power on one circuit including all my other components. I also realized that if I move and am able to have my subs showing, the black ash would match my floor standing speakers better. So, to not spend much more money than the SB 16, I figured a pair of SB 3000s would be the ticket in black ash and would easily hide in wife's decor. Since I'm a sealed fan, I thought this would be my Goldilocks. As it turns out they were too tight for my taste, since movies are also part of the mix. They also caused more higher frequency rattles in the room. They were great, but for me they were just too tight. I can't believe I just said that. LOL So after reviewing the SPL charts on SVS website and looking at online reviews, I decided to try the PB 3000s. Since this will hopefully be my last major stereo purchase for a long time, it was now the time to spend the extra cash and not have to upgrade later. Since they can be ran ported or sealed with the included port plugs and the app controller, the only down side is the larger size and the extra money. After extensive listening in both ported and sealed mode, these are my subs of choice. In ported mode, just one outperforms the SB 16 Ultra. In sealed mode, the pair easily outperforms the SB 16 Ultra, and has more authority and a more natural bass response than the smaller sealed SB 3000s. I also like the front of these better for when/if they ever get to straddle my entertainment center, than either of the sealed models. I don't care for the bevel on the front of 4000s and 16 Ultras that the display is mounted in and like the cleaner look of the 3000s. The only reason I would recommend the 4000s or 16 Ultras is if you have a much much much larger room and have more money than you know what do with, or if you must have the piano gloss black. I assume one day soon the PB 3000s will become available in the piano black. A pair of PB 3000s is not chump change but they hit way way above their weight and I like them better than the SB 16 Ultra. I'm sure the Ported 4000s and 16 Ultras are more amazing, but you will pay for it in dollars and real-estate. For me it would take a very very large dedicated home theater with a budget nearing the 6 figure range for the components to consider moving up from the PB-3000s. If these fit your budget and room, they are the best place to start.
