The camera was great when it worked with the app. Once the Safe by SwannSecurity app was upgraded. The camera stopped working. The camera didn’t sync with new app version very well.

I had a dumb floodlight in place, so installing this was a snap. I went to my local Home Depot and purchased a round outlet box to replace the rectangular one that was there and after removing the old flood light, I had the new one installed in under 45 minutes. This would probably take the average person less time, but I was working by myself and spent a lot of time up and down the ladder to get tools and retrieve dropped screws. LOL A second pair of hands would come in real handy and I think with another person and the right outlet box in place to start, you could install this in under 15 minutes easy. I kind of dreaded the software install and setup, but I need not have worried; the setup was quick and easy and very intuitive. You first connect the unit to power and then launch the app. Like many smart home devices, it acts as a temporary access point and you connect to it via Wifi, then supply your Wifi credentials to it and it then connects the device to your network. All of this is done automatically and within seconds as long as you are within range of both your router and the floodlight. My router is in the front of my house and the floodlight was mounted in the backyard, but it had no issues connecting right away - a very pleasant surprise! The LED lights are bright and have a good spread, illuminating most of my yard. Be aware that if you have your floodlight connected to a switch, it will have to be on at all times for the device to stay connected. Make sure you label the switch so someone doesn't turn it off accidentally! I was impressed with how clear the camera was and with the focal width - it pretty much covered my entire yard and the back door. Daytime it is as clear as one would expect but at night, even with the floodlights off I am impressed with how good the picture is. There is storage built in to the camera as well as a decent, but not overly loud siren. It might not be heard by your whole neighborhood but is certainly enough to startle an intruder! The Safe by Swann app is a rarity in this market; simple to use but feature rich. We've been having some wind storms in the area and the options allowed me to tune the motion detection to eliminate most if not all false alarms. Notifications from the app are quick and useful. The big surprise for me was the two way communication. The mike is extremely sensitive and I could hear everything! The speaker, while small is loud enough to inform someone they are being watched and recorded, that is if the siren didn't scare them off in the first place! I have a number of cams that have this feature but the mike on this one is the most clear and sensitive one I have used so far. Integration with both Alexa and Google/Nest Home Hub is simple to set up and use and the image rendition is quick and clear. While I was able to set up Alexa immediately after installing the floodlight, I did have some issues setting up Google/Nest; the first two times I provided my Swann login credentials, it didn't recognize me. I tried again the next day and had no issues, so if you are using Google/Nest and it doesn't work the first time, I'd suggest simply waiting a day. Everything you need is included (assuming you have a round outlet box of course) and I should mention that Swann includes a number of warning stickers for you windows in various sizes as well as in both English and Spanish - a really thoughtful touch. For the price, I would put this in comparison with competitive offerings although beyond the smart speaker support, there are currently no other integrations with other systems like Wink, Ring or SmartThings, etc. but it does integrate with other Swann offerings. All in all, I am very pleased with this device and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an extra measure of security around their home. I should mention that it works pretty darn well as a simple floodlight as well and it's nice that the app allows this ability simply as well as allowing you to trigger the siren as a manually 'panic alarm' right from the main screen without having to dig through sub menus. Pretty impressive for such a short and easy setup.

Caution! Before you schedule an electrician to install, do the WiFi pre-check! It turned out OK for us, but could have gone south. There is no manual -- but on-line help was great. Got all issues resolved. I like that there are different sensitivity settings. When we're out of town, I can set it high and get some street traffic. Good sound and video. I wanted a camera and motion-sensitive light. This is exactly that. We're happy.

This is a really good deal! I have the Ring version and couldn’t decide which I liked more.

I only had a couple of days to try the light before I got called out of town. So I really have only about two days experience with it. Installation was straightforward, I just installed in place of my last outdoor light. Downloaded the app and was able to find and connect to WiFi quickly. I’m about 40 feet from my WiFi and it seems to have no issues connecting and staying connected. You can set the unit to three different settings, Home, Away, and Night from within the app. There is two way communication, and a siren which can be used to scare off potential intruders. Nothin detection sensitivity can be set within the app also. You can monitor the system within the app with pretty good video and sound. All in all I’m satisfied, but will really have to use the system for several weeks to determine whether it continues to work as well as it has so far. Yes i would recommend this to anyone who is looking for added security in an outdoor lighting system. I will update this review after some more time with the system.

This floodlight performed well problem was the floodlight and video doorbell don't use the same app.

Easy to install great product for the price I recommend it

The camera has great video quality and there isn't much delay. However my two way talk isn't working and I've only had the camera for 2 days. I ordered another camera and will install it to see if the same thing happens. If it does I will probably return both the cameras for a different models. Also I wish the cellphone notifications were audible rather then just a number over the icon. The light is nice and bright... no complaints there.

A pain to connect it to your phone and wifi. Good design and easy to install.

This camera is great. i love the image and how bright it is at night, the night vision is really good too. the only thing that needs adjusting is the sound. it should've been a lot more louder to scare off the predators at night .

Camera is great when it works the app is a nightmare. Your videos don’t always load and when they do, they fast forward even when you want to watch them at normal speed. No setting to change that either. The new app also doesn’t let you turn them off if your home and don’t need them to notify you of every little thing.

wish we can assign a zero rating but Bestbuy does not have that choice. We bought the floodlight from reading some of the reviews and we thought we bought a great security camera. My husband opened a hole on the wall and spent a whole afternoon to install it. Everything seems to be fine, after downloading the Safe by Swann. However, when it starts to pair the camera, it couldn't find wife. It says Swann only works with 2.4GH. Then Bestbuy sent me a replacement after talking with Swann customer and Bestbuy. My husband tried it for another hour to replace the floodlight on the wall. When it tried to pair the camera, it says It only works with 2.4GH. It does not read any wifi signals. My internet has 2.4Gh and my street has many homes with 2.4GH wifi. It does not read any wifi signals. Very disappointed.

Great new updated app. Pictures and video are very good and price from Best Buy is the best with great warranty. 7 days of free recording video or options of paying for 60 day unlike the ring where you have to pay monthly for recording.

Was debating between this and the ring floodlight camera, this one was cheaper and seemed to be built better. We have a ring doorbell and it works good, but this seemed like the better option when it came to quality for price. Very happy with it.

TLDR: This is a great camera/light combo that works well, and I recommend it if you need a flood light with a siren, motion detector and camera. **Setup** Setup is straight forward, and the directions are clear and simple to follow. They recommend you confirm your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal is strong enough before installation using your phone. Not this works on only the 2.4GHz and your phone may prefer a 5GHz signal as it is faster from your access point, so make sure you are testing the 2.4 band and not the 5GHz when you use a device. For me it was simple since the 2.4GHz band at my house is a different name for IoT devices and was strong enough. Next, actual installation. If you are replacing a standard flood light, you may not have a junction box to place the camera onto. I was one of these people and had to make a quick trip to my favorite home improvement store. Lucky the Junction boxes are a standard size, so purchase of the right size was easy, since there was only one size. Once that was mounted above my garage, attaching the camera (make sure to shut the power off) was as easy as wrapping the wires around each other and place on the wire nuts. Screw it in and there you go, the camera/motion light is ready to go. I’m horrible with these things and the fact it was so easy, made me feel like a home improvement god. Seriously, installation isn’t a huge deal. Once the light is powered back on, it should be blinking blue meaning set me up. With my Android phone it was harder than it should be, but that is an Android 9.0 issue. Since you must connect directly to the light over wi-fi to set it up, and the light obviously doesn’t have Internet access. What took me longer then I care to admit, is once I got the connection to the camera, there is a pop up on the phone saying this connection doesn’t have internet and you must Tap to accept the connect. Once I did that setup was easy, input my Wi-Fi password for my network and it was all associated with my account and good to go. If it wasn’t for my phone making this harder then it needed to be, setup would have been under 5 minutes. With this minor Android annoyance, it took me 15. So straight forward. **Usage** To use the light, you must use their Apple/Android App. Once you get used to the app, its straightforward and easy to use and setup. It was also nice they have documentation for the application, and I had to use it, since I didn’t quite get how it was setup or the icons. It didn’t gel with me. However, the documentation allowed me to figure out everything. The app is fairly polished, however the one piece that is missing from the app is the ability to setup a schedule. Having to open the application every time I want to change from Home/Away/Night is just more work than is needed, and some simple geo-fencing/scheduling options would be nice. In the end I decided to set the light to night mode, since it turns the light on when it detects motion and leave it on that setting the whole time, even if I get a notification on my phone for things like me leaving the house for work etc. This means the light will at least turn on when I drive up at night, which is a nice change from when I’d forget to set it before leaving the house. The camera coverage is great, from my garage I have the whole driveway front entrance covered as well as a bit of the street, so it is a win and I can see anyone coming. The Microphone picks up sounds very well from camera. I haven’t tried speaking out it, but the siren it has is nice and loud. I’m happy with that. Since it is an LED light it should last good amount of time, but since the bulbs are attached/part of the light and not replaceable from what I can see, I am hopeful they will last a good number of years. Chances are, the cloud service the camera uses to store/send video will be shut off before the lights die, at least that is my expectation. The motion detection seems to be good, even on low to pick up people coming up the drive/camera. Obviously you will want to play with the settings and see what works best for you. The light itself have adjustable brightness which is nice. At 35% it is more then bright enough to cover my driveway and provide a good picture, though even with the lights off the camera seems to work fine. Supposedly they have Alexa/Google integration which would give me the ability if I had one of those always listening, listeners to I guess turn the lights on/off saving the need for the app. But I don’t have one, so I wasn’t able to test. Hopefully in the future they expose a website like Arlo does to view the video’s and download as required. Downloading to the phone to copy to my PC isn’t the most fun. **Final Thoughts** Overall as a light/camera to cover the front of my house and keep an eye on the driveway and watch the deer use it as a highway is great and I’m happy with how simple this camera was to setup/install and get working. It’s a nice standalone system that doesn’t require much beyond an Apple/Android device and Wi-Fi. The app works and they provide two days of free cloud storage of the video’s and allow you to download. If you need more, you can upgrade it seems for a moderate fee and get 7 days of videos. I’m very happy with the device as I can now watch my house, see when my kids come home and leave and know where approximately the FedEx/UPS guys leave my packages, instead of play, lets guess where they might have hid it. If you need motion activated lights with Camera and siren to go into a permanent setup, then this system is great and works well. I have no complaints and with a few app tweaks for scheduling and geo-fencing to adjust the camera, think this would be the perfect camera for anyone.

I decided to purchase this product, in spite of all the negative reviews that were written up about it. To me it is operating as advertised, no problem as yet. However, I did have a bit of a problem on setup but that was quickly solved by tech support.
