Hardware is ok other than multiple failures we've had. The worst part is that to use this floodlight at all requires going through the Swann service and that service usually doesn't work. I have three of these and I can rarely even do basic things like turn the light on or off, or view camera because their service is down or some sort of communications error.

Very nice security light, love that i can use my phones app to see anytime.

Hardware mounting setup was done by my husband. It was mounted to a porchlight that is to one side of my garage. I asked how it was t install and he stated that he had to make some adjustments so that it fit flush against our brick wall, but otherwise no issues. He's handy like that so it wasn't a major ordeal for us. I set up the app and got connected just fine. Went straight to live video and....static! Picture was good in regular daylight but heard static the entire time. I checked recorded videos and the static remained there too. Now I played with the floodlight at night. If you turn it too bright, the infrared sensor will switch off and on so you'll want to leave that down. It gives out plenty of light but the light doesn't extend out as far as I expected. Not a deal breaker as I have it to watch over my vehicles in my driveway. The night vision is a bit grainy but not more so than expected. The app is ok. It takes a minute to find where all the settings are located. There are 3 modes: Home, Away, and Night. I would love to be able to schedule these, but I don't see how to do so. I have a quiet neighborhood so I've not tried the siren as I don't want to disturb anyone. I like the option to turn the flood light on and leave it on if we like. Two days of video is saved for free and that's fine for now. I got a text when a package had been delivered by the mailman. I thought I would look to see what size the package was. When I went into the app, there was no video for the same time as the timestamp of the delivery. I checked the time after and I could see the mail truck going the other direction on my street which means he already passed my house. I looked for the video just before and it was two hours earlier. The motion detection should have caught the mail truck. It will send a notification for the least little breeze but didn't catch a vehicle that pulled up to my mailbox, stop and pull out again? Not pleased with the motion detection in this case. Overall, I think I would try to find a camera/floodlight that's integrated with another system I own between all these issues of poor motion detection and bad sound.. Not sure I would recommend at this time.

Very clear video resolution, alarm is not too loud

This is a motion detection flood light combined with a WIFI security camera which includes two-way voice communication. It can function as a simple motion light, but in addition, the camera and alarm functions can be enabled through the Swann app. When enabled, the camera records video and sound both internally and Swann’s cloud server. At any time you can see what the camera sees by using the app. The camera also has infrared illumination and gives an image even in the dark, which is pretty impressive. All the images are clear and sharp and quite wide angle. The Swann app is the control center for this and any other Swann cameras you might have. You pair the camera to your phone and log it onto your home WIFI. It took me a few tries to get this working, but when I stood right under the unit, it all worked as per the instructions. At this point, the app controls the unit and all its settings. When armed, your phone will receive “motion detected” alerts, and you can review what has been recorded. It has Home (no security warnings), Night and Vacation presets which you can edit. All told the app is quite mature and fairly intuitive. There’s even a way to vary the light intensity in case you want to lower it for use as outdoor ambient lighting. It’s also Alexa savvy, but I have yet to test those features. This product has a lot of really good features and some to be worked out. The first unit I received had problems with a cross-threaded camera mount, but Swann replaced it with no argument. I also had some hit and miss problems with recordings being sent to Swann’s server, but Swann support says a firmware update is coming to address that issue. However, I should mention that the local recordings were always there. One complaint I have is that this unit can only be wall mounted. Since my existing motion light was soffit mounted under the roof overhang, I had to relocate the electrical box to use this guy. This brings up an obvious point. If you’re not comfortable wiring a light fixture, you’ll need to hire an electrician. It must be hard wired.

Installation is a bit trickier if you are not replacing an existing light since this is hardwired. But if you are replacing an existing flood light, it is very simple. Image Quality is nice and sharp - good field of view. Since it has flood light, 2 way clear communication, motion detection, siren, local and cloud storage, it really fits the bill for almost anyone who wants 1 device that can handle a lot of their security needs. App is easy to use and will get better with time as Swann improves it, but I have no specific issues with the app. Couldn't ask for more features in one package that all function well.

Bought and attempted to install. Could not even get the app to recognize the camera. Called Swann customer support and their recommendation was to exchange it for a new one... Returned and for a Ring spotlight instead.

The WiFi in this unit is very weak - even a few feet away from the router and not near interference. It goes offline most of the time and is very hard to pair with your phone and home network

The internal SD card stop working and I had uninstall it and send it back to them for a replacement but stuck as is not a priority right now due to COVID-19

I had to return this item. The device would not pair correctly and had to be constantly restarted.

This camera/light combo was simple to install, and was easy to pair and set up with my wireless network. The controls and tweaks are all provided with the Swann Safe app on your phone. It has very bright LED lights that are dimmable, and you can turn them on or off at will with the app. It allows you to view your covered area in color when you want to log in and view the live video, and allows recorded video to be made in color. It also has a microphone and a speaker to allow you to talk to visitors (or trespassers!) The mike is very sensitive and will pick up noise from inside a nearby open door. It has a built-in non-accessible SD card and free 2-day cloud backup, with better paid plans available for longer storage. Being able to turn off the motion sensor alerts and turn the lights on for someone from a remote location is a nice feature. It has available modes of Night, Home and Away which you can tweak. The app works well and the video quality is pretty good. The view angle is very wide like most cameras of this type and gets a wide sweep to monitor. You can pair the camera with your Alexa and Google devices to view the image, but I can't say that worked well.

SD Card Failure after a few days no longer will record video or capture photo

We were in need of a new security light for the front door anyways, so this combo of light & camera was a nice solution. Seeing as I was replacing a light that was already there, installation was a breeze. Three wires is it: power, negative and the ground wire. The small LED lights at first don't look like they would be very bright but don't be deceived, they are plenty bright. The camera works great. Wide view, adjustable sensitivity and there is even a siren if you like (although not very loud even on high). So far the Swann app has done good job with notifications. If I have one complaint, it is with the wi-fi. I have a very good router and strong wi-fi. I can usually get a strong signal way out in the yard. However, I had to move the router closer to keep a solid signal with the camera. Not Big deal, but something to look out for. But overall I am very happy with this light/camera combo.

When it comes to home a surveillance product another brand comes to mind. However the Swann - 1080p Wi-Fi Floodlight Security Camera is the little engine that could. The video is sharper, in my opinion, than it's competitor. Also the product itself is solid. I'd call it commercial quality. The installation took less than 30 minutes. All the parts were included, and the instructions direct and as clear as the video quality. The app sets up easily enough and is on par w similar software. Last but not least, this sucker is BRIGHT. The Swann - 1080p Wi-Fi Floodlight Security Camera will get an unwelcome person or racoons attention. Although you can purchase more storage space you can use the free included space. I like that, and I think you will too. Cheers

I was really excited for this camera, it has cloud streaming, Alexa / Google interface, motion, sound, two way audio, and is wireless. While it has some great features, some of the basics are lacking. This review is based on installation on my farm house, away from street lights or any other ambient light. First, installation is straight forward for replacing an existing floodlight. I took down an exterior corner floodlight on the garage and installed this light. The wiring is standard and was an easy swap between the existing fixture and this one. The next step is to install the app, which is surprisingly well designed. The app installed on my Andriod with no issues, no crashing, or other functionality problems. The app is used to connect to wifi. I was concerned about this due to not having an external wifi extender, however had no issues connecting to my wireless router on the opposite side of the house. I do have some lag with connecting to this camera, I attribute this to the distance between camera and router, but not enough that it prevents use or that I feel compelled to add in an external booster. After app install and connecting wifi, you're done. Within the app you can turn on the light, set motion sensor sensitivity, view real time and stored camera feed, take photo, record video, see history, sync to Amazon / Google assistant, have two-way conversation, and activate the *eh hem* alarm. Side note, the alarm is a bit of a joke at 75 db, however this camera does come with the option of mounting inside, which would potentially make this feature beneficial. The good: the camera installs easy, the app is intuitive and user friendly, camera image quality in both day and night vision is excellent, the motion sensor functionality works as expected. The bad: the camera field of view is lacking, it is mounted at a height of 14 ft and due to the mount setup I cannot get a field of vision past about 10 ft deep and 20 ft wide. If the mounting allowed for the camera to pivot up further the depth would increase, however still limited by camera design. Overall, if you are looking for an interior light, camera combo or just need a camera on a two car width driveway, this camera will do the job. The perks come in the wifi streaming functionality and easy retrofit from an existing floodlight.
