I had looked at a Swann camera in the past and passed on purchasing it due to the fact I had another system. When I received this and installed it, my first thought was “I made a mistake, I should have purchased the Swann”.
I had downloaded the Swann Security App prior to the camera arriving in the mail, and had my account made and set up. The App is super easy to use and navigate, and the connection to this CoreCam was almost instantaneous. I like the App compared to the other system I had. Its just so easy to use.
I mounted the camera on our front porch just prior to the storm passing through and I was a little Leary of the amount of rain we were forecasted to receive would it hold up, IT PASSED W/ FLYING COLORS. Mounting the camera was super easy, it was simply drilling three holes and mounting the mount and then attaching and directing the camera. I love the clarity on the camera, whether its in total daylight or at night the camera is crystal clear. It is a very well made camera and very well made App. As I said, I truly wish I had purchased one of the Swann camera’s in the past. Trust me, I won’t make that mistake again. If you are in need of a very reliable, easy to set-up and maintain, look no further than the Swann - CoreCAm Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p.

First, I had to install the Swann Security app from the Google Play store. After completing email registration, the Swann Security app automatically went to the Pair Device page. I was instructed to scan the QR code on the back of the Swann - CoreCam Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p Security Camera and then connect my Wi-Fi to complete the pairing process. Everything works through the Swann Security app. Motion detection works by a ping notification sounding on my phone and a statement of Motion Detected on whatever location I have selected to view. I can regulate the motion detection sensitivity in the various modes of home, night and away. The Swann - CoreCam Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p Security Camera takes pics and videos in color and black and white. I can talk with the push to talk button, turn on the siren, take snap shots and videos with the symbols under the viewing screen. The quality is high depth and all details can be seen with great clarity. I can move the Swann - CoreCam Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p Security Camera all around my home to different locations with ease, because of its small size. The Swann - CoreCam Indoor/Outdoor Wireless 1080p Security Camera is a versatile small camera that can see it all.

I own and have tested many brands of indoor and outdoor security cameras, but this is the first Swan brand camera I have used. It came ready to install, proper hardware included, and I decided to install it on the front of my house.
Charging was pretty quick, it comes with a 32 gig micro SD card for storage, and only took a few minutes to get it ready for setup and installation.
I downloaded the app, which appeared to be straight forward, but it seemed pretty awkward to use; some of these screens didnt seem like they were easy to access, and trying to go back in the app yielded unexpected results.
Once I did the firmware updates, a mandatory step now a days on all IOT devices, I was up and running in just a few minutes.
The camera provides nice clear pictures on the app, so far the features seem to work albeit slowly and sometimes erratically, but all things considered, this is a nice, inexpensive security camera, and the wireless feature is nice, aside from needing to take the camera off its mount in order to bring it in to charge it.
I'm using the Android version of the app, so your experience may be different on IOS.
For a reasonably priced camera, the pictures it provided are nice, (NOT 4k, just 1080p), and so far its been fine. We'll see how long the battery lasts, which is important, especially if mounted up high

This Swann CoreCam security camera lives up to its billing. It is similar to other single-camera systems I have used. Setup is simple. Out of the box, the instructions say to charge the camera. It comes with a USB-2 to mini-USB (D-shaped) cable but no A/C adapter. The instructions say to use a charger you probably already have, such as for your cell phone. I have several of these, so this was no problem. I found out later, when setting up the camera, that it was already charged to about 95% out of the box.
Next is to download the Swann Security app to your phone and set up your account. Then you pair the camera to the phone following the steps in the app. The camera itself, when turned on, comes up automatically in pairing mode. Once paired, you’re off and running. I had to wait about five minutes before the pairing finished because the camera was doing a firmware update. Then place the camera where you want it and start using its features. The image quality is excellent, even in low light. I plan to use this in my house’s outdoor entryway, where the light can be dim at times.
Be aware that the camera’s wifi connectivity requires a 2.4 GHz network, not a 5G network. My router transmits both, and connection to the 2.4 network was no problem.
The app allows customization of the canera’s operation, such as waking up when movement is detected (or turning off this feature), storing video on the included micro-SD card or in the cloud (separate setup required) and so forth.
Included in the box is a base on which to mount the camera as well as screws to mount it to a wall or ceiling.
Overall, this camera should serve well for anyone who wants a simple security camera.

I have used Swann security cameras in the past to secure barns and equipment, but they always had the limitation of being a wired security system which limited the distance the cameras could be located away from the base. So, needless to say, I was excited to try the swann wireless security camera to see how well it would perform. This Swann camera is a 1080p camera, but the picture is actually very good for a non-4K camera. Installation is very straight forward, charge the battery, attach to the wall in a location where the camera can reach your wifi signal and follow the instructions in the app to get everything up and running. The Swann wireless security camera has all of the features you would expect on a high quality security camera. 180 degree coverage, the ability to talk and to listen, true face detection and a battery that Swann says will last up to three months before needing to be recharged. Swann also provides seven days of video storage for free. The storage will then overwrite older video clips on a rolling basis, keeping the last seven days. There is also offline backup in case your wireless connection is lost. The Swann Corecam is also weatherproof so it can be placed anywhere inside and outside to protect whatever you need to have protected. One last thing, the Swann works very well with both Google assistant and with Alexa. I have not had any issues using this camera or the app so I have no reason to not recommend this as a worthy security camera option for anyone needing a truly wireless camera. I have three different brands of wireless cameras around my house and this one is as good as any of them.

Unit is in a compact package that looks like a newer camera but not intrusive. The mounting stand is adjustable, and well designed. The SD card and charger port is behind a water proof cover. Unit can handle up to a 128gb SD card which is a lot of storage. Storage within the camera is free (no monthly subscription for cloud) Set up and pairing was quirky. It kept telling me I was using a VPN when I was not, and it also kept telling me it did not support 5GHz wifi. I hit 'skip' and it appeared to go thought the set up with any further issues. Once set up, the app was easy to navigate. I do wish it had the option for full screen on live playback. I could not find that option. The picture quality was very good, but I did find delays in connecting and sometimes it showed a 'frozen' older image while it was thinking. It seems to always work after a refresh, but that can be annoying especially when you are trying to view quickly. The on board SD card allows pretty instant play back and the quality is good. Night vision is decent and acceptable. I do like the activity screen which gives you an instant summary of what is waiting. All in all, the camera is not bad. There are a few quirks which I will try and work out. I have this mounted outside on a tree and it has been good so far, but for the connection delays.

Great value cam, good starter system.
Inside the box, the usually expected items. Camera, charge cable, mount and mounting hardware. Charge it, mount it, load the app and setup took little effort.
Camera has physical on/off switch so can't control that with the app. No biggie for most since you'll probably want the camera on all the time anyway. It does have the option to place a Micro SD card for local recording. A nice feature. Overall, the camera has a decent feel as far as quality.
The video quality is very good. It's 1080p so certainly good enough for most home environs. I think for most home systems, 4K is a nice to have, but certainly not a NEED to have and this camera certainly meets the needs of most.
One minor annoyance is that it seems to have a somewhat slower "response" time in waking up for motion activations, but t be fair, I am comparing this to much more expensive wireless ecosystems I currently have. Deal breaker? Well no, because if you don't have anything to compare it too, that is just "normal".
End of the day, I would recommend this, especially as an entry camera and in smaller environments, such as smaller homes and apartments.

The Swann CoreCam wireless cam is a compact, battery powered security solution that offers decent performance but is marred by its Android app's finicky behavior.
The unit itself comes packed with all you need to get it physically installed. There is a very basic mounting bracket, USB charging cable (no brick, pretty common these days) and a packet of stickers with a getting started guide. The camera also includes a 32GB SD card installed and ready for use. Additional storage and features are offered through a subscription plan.
The rubber door on the bottom offers a snug fit and offers good water-proofing. Behind the door is the charging port, on/off switch, SD card slot and a reset button. The front of the camera features the lens, a ring of IR lights, a blue pairing light, the motion sensor and a speaker.
My trouble began when I attempted to use the app. Downloading from the App Store was straight forward. You must setup an account on the site and verify it with a valid Email account before you can proceed. You are then presented with a list of required installation steps. The concept is simple, you pair the camera with your phone (via Bluetooth), the camera will switch to hotspot mode and switch your phone to that network to continue with the setup. The software will then configure the camera with your WiFi information, finish the configuration and switch to view mode.
The problem for us was that NONE of these steps completed successfully on the first try. Make sure you know where the on/off switch is because that is how you re-initiate pairing. Also - there is a QR code on the back of the unit that feeds the MAC address to the software. Once you do that you cannot do it again - you get an error. We had to uninstall and reinstall the App to get around that.
Also - make certain you pay attention to the requirement that your WiFi network must support 2.4GHz and configure your device with the right network name.
Lastly, be aware that the after-hours support is provided by a Bot and it was not helpful (to be fair - I think that is very common!)
Once everything is running the video quality is decent but the display requires 5 to 10 seconds to update the screen. Also, some features are very comprehensive but others (2-way audio) have virtually no mention.
Long story short - be prepared to have your patience tested getting this thing working

Very Nice Security Camera, but…..

Swann’s new CoreCam is easy to install. Being cordless, there is no need to be near an outlet. That makes it easy to relocate should you wish. Connecting to wi-fi was another matter. I have a gigabit tri-band mesh system that works very well throughout my house; and, for some reason, the camera didn’t like it. So, after three failed efforts, I tried my older dual band to which it connected.
The camera offers several different views to select from, and the HD picture quality is excellent. Along with video, there is a snapshot option. There is also a zoom function, but it is the proverbial fly in the punchbowl. The 2-way talk function is good, but the sound volume from the camera speaker is low, even at the maximum volume setting set in the app. Another plus is that free storage is available via a pre-installed 32GB Micro SD card.
While the camera basics work well enough, the app and its interaction with the camera goes to the other end of the spectrum. The least of that is after downloading, no icon was sent to my phone for future app access. I must go to Google Play to open it.
Attempting to view recorded items is a chore. One time I can tap on a recording and quickly watch it. On the other hand, I can tap until I’m tired from having no response. Trying to view after an alert, it will tell me to wait for 5-10 seconds; but that timetable is often meaningless. Nothing happens. On other occasions, when clicking on recorded videos, it will show the same picture for every recorded time slot.
It is unfortunate that this particularly good camera is crippled by adverse operating issues and a quirky app.

Couldn't Get Camera to Recognize my 2.4ghz Network

I was excited to finally get a wifi camera with infared to monitor activity outside of my home 24/7. So far, this camera has only been a source of frustration. I attempted to connect to my wifi network several times, but it wouldn't recognize it. The directions state that it will only work on the 2.4ghz band, which is the band I was attempting to connect to. The Swann app said signal strength 0%, even though my tv and phone were both connected to the same network without any problem. Rebooted camera numerous times, with the same result. I went as far as resetting my router, and it still refused to connect. I contacted Swann support 3 days ago, and have yet to hear any response from them. I may have just received a lemon, which is understandable. You can't expect everything to work perfectly 100% of the time. The unexcusable thing is the lack of response by Swann, given the price of this product. I would recommend that you look elsewhere if you are in the market for a wifi security camera.

Failed after 2 months and Swann Warranty Sucks

Failed after 2 months. Swann would not replace under warranty because I hadn't saved my receipt. Even though the device was registered with them and shows an installation date that they can easily see. This is probably one of the worst warranty policies I have seen.
