My experience were unacceptable! Tv mounted poorly, crooked, Tv had no remote, place left unswept and mounted not as directed.

This Swann camera system is a very nice setup. It comes with 4 cameras, a mouse, network cables and the main DVR. There is plenty of space on the HardDrive to be able to store video and not start writing over it before you need it. The setup is easy and straightforward with the POE network cables being the only thing you need to run to each camera. Everything just plugged in and fired right up when I started using it. The initial setup only takes a few minutes to enter the basic information then it starts recording. Swanns software is easy to use and if you ever have a question it is laid out very well in their manuals. There are endless settings you can play with and fine tune. I didn't play around with the AI features but some of them look like they would be very handy if you want to narrow down alerts. I did see something that said these are HD cameras that are upscaled to 4k. Honestly the resolution is perfectly fine for anything I would need whether it's native or upscaled resolution. The nightvision also works very well and comes through clearly. The entire system is well thought out and easy to work with. It installs quickly and easily and can be set up to run however best works for you. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to add cameras to their home/work.

This camera surveillance kit is very nice. Over the years I tend to lean towards Swann when it comes to my surveillance setups because of their experience and reliability. This kit does not disappoint. I really love the power over Ethernet feature as you don’t have to supply each camera with its own power supply. It simply can pull power through the Cat6 Ethernet cable. The included 2TB DVR is a monster and can hold all your recordings from the eight cameras for well over a month without over writing the data again. That translates to adequate time to realize and review footage that may be needed for law enforcement and such. Installation was fine. I never have an issue installing wired cameras as they are the best for reliable and predictable behavior. The wireless cams are unreliable IMO and are offline more than they should be as surveillance cameras. Everything you need to install the system is included in the kit and the power over Ethernet feature just makes it easier. Once you hook up your system you can then view your footage locally or through the Swann app. Registering on the app is intuitive and I had no issues. I was up and running in 10 mins.

The product description states that the system comes with mounting hardware, but unfortunately it does not come with any mounting clips for the wires. As each of the 4 cameras come with 60 feet of wire, you will definitely need clips to keep the wires in place - which means a trip to the hardware store and additional money spent. The package also does not come with any information that would explain how to add extra length to the wires, or how to trim the wire if a shorter length is needed. I would have appreciated information on where to purchase additional cameras, wires, or accessories. The system is easy to set up and begins recording immediately upon attaching the cameras, even before set-up has been completed. The Network Video Recorder box is equipped with a 2TB hard-drive which, thankfully, appears easy to replace or swap out for a larger size - 4K Video files are quite large, so the ability to swap for a larger drive is very much appreciated. The included ethernet cables carry both power and the video signal - which is convenient, but it leaves me wondering why there is a second cord coming out of the cameras. I assume the extra plug is for a separate power source, but since that is not required for this set-up, I am left feeling as though the security kit was thrown together using separate products and not specifically designed as a standalone unit/kit. It is also worth noting that the cords do not seem to be particularly high quality as they easily kink. I was pleased to find that all four cables worked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the outer plastic cracks or splits with time. I suggest being very careful while cutting off the packaging and while unpacking each wire. Overall, I do feel that the system is a good value for the money and I plan to add additional cameras. The image quality is a noticeable improvement over my previous 1080p cameras and the heat/motion detection appears to work beautifully. I am extremely grateful that the system can operate without internet access and that there are no required monthly fees. (It seems like every product these days tries to get customers to sign up for some type of monthly charge. Thank you Swann for not nickel and diming your customers!)

The Swann - Master Series 8-Channel Security System is another great product from Swann. This would be my fourth system I've had from Swann, and there is a reason I keep using their products. I have used other brand's camera security systems, but Swann is my first choice. The ease of use, very straight forward installation, and the monitoring that it offers keep me coming back. Since Swann offers 24/7 monitoring that does not require a paid subscription and it still works even if their system goes down, that alone is worth buying their product. The system comes with everything needed: four 4K cameras with night vision, NVR 2TB drive, four 60’ ethernet cables, one shorter ethernet cable for the unit to a router, a mouse, and a HDMI cable. The install process is very straight forward. I have had some installed by a company, and some that I have installed myself. The installation guide that comes inside the box will walk you through each step. First, you follow the instructions for hardware setup. This can be difficult if you are not used to wiring things. Secondly, you download and install the Swann Security APP to your phone or tablet, which will guide your through setting up the system. You go through the cameras naming them, etc. Once that is complete, you are set to go! Since the cameras are POE (power over ethernet) you do not need an additional power source for each indivudal camera. That means less wires to hide. So far, all of the video and images come out clear. It is nice to search for specific time/date and be able to pull it up instantly. I like to use the Swann app on my tablet while at home to view multple cameras at once. One of Swann's features is the “State-of-Art” upscaling capability. It pulls the action/evidence into focus to examine any minute details that you are looking for. This would come in handy if you had someone break into your business, or your vehicle at home to see exactly what was taken. I would definitely recommend any of Swann's products to anyone I know!

I've bought security systems before, but this one is the best by far. It's the first one I have gotten that records in 4k, which alone makes it worth it. The price stays a little low because it is an 8 channel system but only has four cameras. Four I think is typically enough for the average person, but if you wanted to do a large area, or indoor and outdoor (they are weatherproof for year round surveillance), it's nice to be able to add cameras if necessary. This system has 2 TB worth of storage, which is typically, again, enough for the average person. It's also so nice that there are no fees or subscriptions involved. It records in color during the day and black and white at night, which turns to color if the sensor lights are tripped. It uses both heat and motion to detect, so it doesn't have nearly as many false alarms for things like vehicles. You can also set it to detect specifically for people at certain times of the day to stop recordings of things like passerby. It also has about 130 ft of distance for night vision, which is huge! My favorite thing is that this system can save videos straight to your Dropbox, but I also love that I can check the cameras from my phone anytime! If I could ask for one thing, it would be facial recognition. I understand that usually comes with pricier systems, so I'm honestly not too upset about it. It does have a pretty powerful zoom, which could definitely make up for that. It was also a pretty tough install, but lucky me has an electrician cousin who was able to set it up in no time.

I've rated this a 3 for several reasons: we self-installed instead of having a Swann technician come out. The instructions are very incomplete and vague and my husband went to find information at the help site so he could install. Installation was fairly straightforward after that. There is an extra power connection on all cameras which appears to serve no purpose except to get in the way and dangle loosely. There is a small screw that has to be loosened in order to affix the camera, and we lost it several times trying to get it screwed back in, and suggest Swann include extras because we need to go out and purchase some screws because we cannot immobilize one of the cameras without it. Also one of our images is reversed, and we are not sure how to get it corrected. If you are not a software engineer, setup is not easy, as there are several steps that need to be done which are not clear, specifically for email notifications. I'm sure Swann technicians know about them, but for DIY'ers, clear step-by-step instructions are vital. The cameras themselves provide a fairly clear image on the monitor screen, and panels are separated nicely. Smartphone notifications are timely. There is a slight lag between camera sensor and display notification, but I'm sure it's that way with pretty much every security system. I would rate higher if installation and setup wasn't such a pain, so if you have any doubts, pay to have the technician come and set it up and hope they are proficient.

Swann - Master Series 8-Channel, 4-Camera Security Surveillance System is one of the best complete security systems. The packaging is pretty neat. It comes with a 2TB 8 Channel NVR, four 4K bullet cameras, ethernet cables, Power adapter, HDMI cable, mounting hardware, installation guide. Setup is a breeze and straight forward, and included instructions are helpful. The cameras use the Ethernet cable to send video signals as well as to power them. So, there is no need for additional power outlets near the installed cameras or running long power cables. The 2TB NVR can hold weeks, if not months, of recordings before overwriting the old footage. One of the added features is that you get to upload footage from two cameras to your Dropbox account. I hope Swann adds other cloud storage options (Google Drive, iCloud, OneDrive, etc.) to choose from in a future update. The cameras have the option to record 24x7 or you can customize the recordings based on movement, schedules, etc. Make sure to download the Swann app. The app is intuitive and easy to use. In the app, you get to customize the recordings, schedules, mark your areas to monitor, view your recordings, view live feeds. If you choose not to use the app, you can still use the security system by connecting the NVR to a TV/monitor. The best part is there are no monthly fees. You also have the option to connect to your Google Assistant or Alexa voice assistant for smart home integration. I wish it had Siri integration as well. Another feature of the NVR is that you can add additional cameras, for a total of eight to cover additional areas or other blind spots. The included cameras can view live feeds in color as well as withstand harsh weather conditions. Overall, this is a complete system with good features as a reliable security system for your home.

The Swann Master Series 4 camera indoor/outdoor security surveillance system is a good unit. The setup process was very easy and the instructions were very easy to understand. There are 3 instruction quick start guides. Each one is labeled 1, 2 & 3 and each quick start guide is color coded. Inside the quick start guide are easy to understand instructions with illustrations. A computer monitor or TV with an HDMI input is required in order to setup the DVR. The system includes an HDMI cable, Computer Mouse, and Ethernet Cable to connect to your WiFi Router. The system includes long Ethernet Cables that you will use to connect to each Camera and into your DVR. Adding the DVR system to the Swann Security mobile app was easy and straightforward. I would also like to note that this DVR is very quiet. I can barely hear the fans that are running that help keep the unit cool. I’ve used other brands that have a loud fan on their DVR. The DVR has a slick and modern design. The cameras and indoor/outdoor. They’re made of all plastic. Once signed in, I clicked on the 3 ellipses icon and selected Paid Device. I then scanned the QR-Code that’s located on the DVR and it was instantly connected. The video quality of each camera looks clear. In daylight each camera is able to display what’s being seen in color. At night, each camera displays what is being seen or recorded in black & white. There is no audio sound from the cameras, only video. When receiving alerts on my iPhone it does not have the option to press and hold the alert to see a quick thumbnail of what’s being recorded. Clicking on the alert will open the app and take you to the video that was captured. Overall, this is good surveillance system for basic recording needs.

The Swann - Master Series 8-Channel, 4-Camera, Indoor/Outdoor PoE Wired 4K UHD 2TB HDD NVR Security Surveillance System is a very nice unit. Upon initial setup, an update was available and necessary to perform. The standard wizard setup made it relatively quick and easy to setup. Included instructions were simple to follow for initial setup. The unit comes with four sets of ethernet cables and four cameras, a 2TB HDD NVR, and mouse. You need to have your own monitor/display. Having already had the Swann App, “pairing” adding the NVR system was pretty seamless. It’s nice that is expandable to an 8 camera system. The Swann - Master Series 8-Channel, 4-Camera, Indoor/Outdoor PoE Wired 4K UHD 2TB HDD NVR Security Surveillance System was used to replace a system from another manufacturer. I do like the setup and use of the Swann app much more than my previous system. It’s much smoother and better picture quality, even though previous system was only 1080p. So far, the Swann - Master Series 8-Channel, 4-Camera, Indoor/Outdoor PoE Wired 4K UHD 2TB HDD NVR Security Surveillance System and other Swann cameras I have work well together on the Swann App. If you already have a previous NVR in place, then installation is quick and easy, otherwise, you will have to of course run wires to the cameras. Just be gentle with the ethernet lines and don’t tug them to hard on pulls and don’t bend them too sharply. I feel like Swann makes very customer products and easy to setup and use. On a side note, they come in white and make it easily blend in with white trim.

Run the ethernet cables (whether it be through the attic or just outside the house), plug them in to the jacks on the DVR, plug in power to the DVR, plug in the mouse and your display (display not included), and turn the system on. That's all there is to setting this up. All software setup is completely menu driven and easy to follow. Whether you're experienced or this is your first time installing one, this system is a breeze to install and use. Additionally, it provides 4 more ports to bring your system up to 8 cameras (extra cameras sold separately) - that would be two for each exterior (or interior - whichever you choose) corner, giving you a full 360 coverage of the outside of your home. Everything for the 4 cameras is included to mount, cable and install (except for a drill/screwdriver). By the way, since this system uses POE (Power over ethernet), you won't need to provide a power outlet for each camera. All the power required for the cameras is provided by way of the ethernet cables from the DVR. App is also extremely intuitive and good for watching what's going on while away from home. Great setup!

The Swann Master Series 8-Channel, 4-Camera, Indoor/Outdoor PoE Wired 4K UHD 2TB HDD Network Video Recorder (NVR) Security Surveillance System works exactly as needed, right out of the box, with plenty of extra customization options you can delve in to later. To set the system up, once you have located where you are putting your cameras and verified that the wires are long enough, you can install the cameras, then plug the wires for the cameras in to the NVR, then plug in the included mouse and your own (provided) monitor. Once that is done, you can either use the on screen display, or the app to setup the system. There are many options once the initial setup is complete, such a blocking out segments of your video, facial detection, motion detection, recording schedules, etc. These profiles can be great, for example, if you are recording an area that has high traffic during the day, you might only want to record using facial detection based on a schedule, and then at night, record all motion. It is a very flexible system that should fit anyone's needs.

The Swann security system came very well packaged, with simple instructions (in both English and Spanish). The most difficult part of installation is deciding where to put the box and where to drill holes for the camera wires. Everything else is extremely easy - basically plug and play. We had an older monitor we wanted to use for the system and were thrilled that the box had both a VGA and an HDMI port so we were able to use it. And the resolution on these cameras is very impressive. Not grainy or fussy at all. The software is easy to navigate. I especially like how the playback pops up on the right side of the main screen so you don't have to navigate to specific timelines all the time. This is very convenient. The system is expandable to 8 cameras. The cameras don't seem as high of quality as our other security systems, but they are made for indoor/outdoor use, so I'm guessing they'll hold up. For the price point of this system over some of the other ones we use, it is fairly comparable at way less the price. The ease of connection and use are definitely a plus.

To get it right out of the way, the installation of the SWANN Master System might be a bit intimidating upon first sight. There are quite a number of items to get sorted and figured out right out of the box, not to mention once you get everything planned/mapped out you still need to run the wires and find a spot for everything. Needless to say, some (maybe even most) will reach out to some sort of installation company to knock it out. Sure, you can tack some stuff up and call it a day, but to really hide everything and run it correctly, might be something best left to the professionals or those that are experienced with such things. Ok, that's legit the only negative I have, hence the 5-star review. Everything else is just about as good as it gets when it comes to wired home security. You are provided with four 4K cameras each with a 60' ethernet cable, and a NVR 2TB HDD that does not require a subscription service to operate. PERFECT. Heck, there's even an HDMI cable in the box just in case. Highly recommend this system to anyone looking for the best of the best at this price point.

The best security cameras I've bought, I'm happy.

The issues we have had with this security equipment in the first 12 months follow: - The DVR is very loud. It sounds a bit like an outboard motor on a boat. This is easily the loudest item in our home. - The motion detection is not good. Blowing trees and moths are detected. However, we have had deer run past the cameras and they are not detected. - Several of the cameras quit working and had to be replaced. - At night the cameras look like the are in fog. The night vision on several of the cameras is not good. - The tech support group is terrible. So far I have made several calls and sent a lot of pictures and videos and have not received any support. Overall, very disappointed.

Excellent camera but after 2nd year of use water issues. They need to fix the issue because they have a good camera here. I have a $3,000 cctv system on my commercial property as this is just as good.
