    I LOVE these cameras around my house. I wish it wasn’t so hard with the trees to get good sunlight but it’s not hard to manage regardless.

    It seems the product I bought was outdated. It didn't work and after hours of troubleshooting with Swann support a replacement was sent. Still had some issues with camera and hub compatibility. For what is worth the cameras view looks great. If I had sufficient product to begin with, review would be better.

    Great video the range of the cameras seem to be better than most brands that I’ve had but not meet the 2000 ft advertised. However I do have some trees between the cams and the house

    Love these things. Incredible range - two are over 180 meters and a third is 200 meters +. Clear line of sight for only one. The other two have a few trees. Well worth the reasonable price

    Camera system is nice overall but it does not work with ifttt. I needed a camera to watch my mailbox near a busy road out of sight from my house but not within sight of would be thieves. The camera has to be placed so far from the mailbox so it will not be seen that it does not trigger the motion sensor no matter which way it is set. At 100 percent sensitivity i have to leave my car parked there for a bit to trigger a recording. The quick deliveries are not enough to trigger. I have few notifications out of 2 months of nearly daily deliveries. My Arlo camera does not have the wireless range but connects to a yolink sensor in the mailbox, it triggers every time and gets a video albeit far away. I was expecting at least similar performance to my antiquated Arlo. If it worked with ifttt then it would be 5 stars.

      Hi Appalachianeer. MaxRanger supports IFTTT but it may depend on what applet you are trying to use.

      If you tried to set the applet to trigger when motion is detected, then it would not work on default settings of MaxRanger as Max’s default setting is PIR+Person. So the trigger is “Person” here and of course won't trigger IFTTT applet looking for a Motion trigger.

      If this is what you've done we'd recommend either:
      1. Create an IFTTT app for IF Person detection then do that. OR
      2. Change the default from PIR+Person to PIR + Motion and continue using the existing Applets.

      Also it depends on the other sensor’s integration But as long as IFTTT integration is concerned, it works with IFTTT. Swann

    Uv index is not high enough to keep cameras sufficiently charged. Must be connected via ethernet if you want to use the app

    Not worth the money. The camera captures every car that goes past my house but never the ones pulling into my driveway, and never captures people walking on my property.

With any security camera, how you angle the camera and set its motion detection settings will make a huge difference to how the camera detects.     Solor camera system

    I like the camera system but on 1 of the 3 cameras stays connected and it’s the camera that’s 110 feet away from the hub the other 2 cameras are closer to the hub and have issues staying connected or connect at all.

    I wrote a review two weeks ago expressing the issues with support from Swann. SOMEHOW my review has disappeared! But, all the glowing reviews from "tech advisors" with great reviews are still there! Since then I have been evaluating the systems on my home and one camera has already failed to maintain battery in just one week. All the systems are going back and Best Buy will then remove my poor review. Something is fishy at Best Buy.

    The Swann MaxRanger4K Solar camera kit is everything that it's touted to be -- solidly-constructed cameras that can be placed pretty much wherever you need to secure an area, and the base station has next to no problems in picking up the wireless signal back from the camera. Also, the solar panel is integrated to the top of the camera, and as long as you place the device in a position to where at least some sun will directly hit the panel, then the returned picture will show that the device will recharge. Coloration and shot are top notch. The system will up/downgrade the actual quality of the picture depending on the strength of the wireless signal that is being sent/received (note: if you do place the device in a known "dead zone" location, nothing will fix wireless issues until you get rid of the "dead zone"). This particular kit came with white metal gutter attachments. All that needed to be done was attach the gutter attachments to the camera itself and then screw in two large bolts to the inside of the gutter, and the device is securely fastened. Also, the cameras that come with the kit are already provisioned with this base station. Therefore, after they're initially charged, all you have to do is literally turn the camera on and they begin working. Presumably you'd have to reset (via button) the camera to get it to work with a different base station (I think there's also a QR code involved), but that shouldn't be an issue if you're expanding your system. Overall, functionality is top notch -- night vision, audio, field of view -- outside of something on the professional level, these cameras will do the job remarkably.

    Needs plenty of Sun

    Had to return them because the batteries on all 3 cameras kept failing. I had them mounted high enough after a full charge that a ladder was needed when they died. After a couple times, I decided the winter Wisconsin lack of Sun could not support the solar charging needs.

      Thank you for reaching out! To keep your MaxRanger 4K camera fully charged, we recommend positioning the solar panel for about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight each day. For areas with limited sunlight, you have the option to add an external solar panel to boost charging. In the U.S., we suggest the SWIFI-SOLAR3 or the upcoming SOLAR5 (available early 2025).
