Based on the information provided, it is possible that you received the unit that was already purchased by a different customer and returned. We would recommend reaching out to Best Buy first to help further look into your situation. If needed Swann can offer to help process a warranty replacement. Swann offers a one-year warranty provided a copy of your receipt or up to 36 months with valid registration on a Secure + Plan. Outside of this timeframe, we are unable to process a replacement free of charge. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While setup and NVR functionality of this unit is very good, beware that the advertising of these units as "4k" is not correct. The cameras are only NTSC output that is upscaled to 4k video quality, so they are not "native" 4k. The NVR box HDMI output of the OS is 4k when connected to a proper TV/monitor, nothing else. For the price, it is a good solution but do not expect true 4k cameral footage. Very deceptive advertising.. :(

The cameras included in this kit record in true 4K. There are many settings that can be adjusted to help achieve a higher resolution although this may affect storage. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This 4k system comes with a 2 tb hard drive if you use 6 cameras or more you will only get a few hour of strait recording before it start overwriting the data. I had mine for just long enough for the warranty to run out and now the HDMI has lost signal.

The recording settings on the cameras will contribute to the overall file size of each recording. Recording resolution, frame rate, and PIR settings will all play a factor.
