I will admit the first time I watched this movie I did not like it. But being a big Tim Burton fan, I gave it another shot and came to find out, I actually really like this dark, funny, creepy musical! Right along the lines of “Little shop of Horrors” but without as catchy of songs to belt out. But with a more memorable and gruesome story. LSOH is a timeless classic but I would put this movie a step bellow it, if you like musicals with an alternate twist.

Tim burton directs Sweeney Todd, and like Sleepy Hollow, this is great material for a talented filmmaker. Dark and chilling but still humorous and engaging, this demon barber cuts and slashes his way into your mind through the work of Steven Sondheim's stage show adapted for the screen by none other than Tim Burton. I've been a fan of Tim Burton and Johnny since I was a child and this film is just another in a long line of imaginative and unique collaborations between creative geniuses..... Love it!

Tim Burton has always had an eye for intriguing imagery, and this is toned down for a much more bleak, yet enthralling tale/adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical. Now, I'm not sure why people didn't realize this was a musical, but that shouldn't keep Burton fans or movie lovers from watching, because from the performances to the story and direction, this gruesome tale of misery and misfortune is one that has to be seen, and demands it in full.

Expectations were low when I went to see this movie. Johnny Depp singing?! Came out of theater very surprised and wanting to see it again. Outstanding film. Is now one of my favorites. Even those who don't ordinarily enjoy musicals should be entertained by Sweeney Todd!

My hubby and I watched this movie on tv a couple years ago while wrapping presents on Christmas eve. It actually came on for the next 3 yrs in Christmas eve so it has now become our tradition. If you like musicals it's a different type of a musical.

Grisly...Quite grisly actually. Not a movie for the kiddies who are Johnny Depp fans. He does a good job singing and acting through this movie. However, it is quite bloody. Not as good as a few movies I've seen recently but much better than many of them.

I have yet to find a performance by Helena Bonham Carter or Johnny Depp that I don't like. They're both very talented actors with great voices. Put them in a room with Tim Burton and there's bound to be a fantastic movie.

Well acted. Good plot that makes one interested till the end. It is a musical, so get ready for that, Enjoy.

My fiancé had me watch this movie and I was surprised at how much I liked it. The story line is just so good and Johnny Depp is fabulous in everything he does. I highly recommend giving this movie a try.

First and foremost I was unaware that it was a musical. Despite this, I loved it!!! Great actors, with exceptional roles for Johnny Deep and Helena Bonham Carter!!! Tim Burton hasn't failed me yet!

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street is a great movie Johnny Depp and Helena work so well together in this movie if you like revenge movies with a twist this is the movie for you

What can i say? Johnny Depp does what he does best and that's put up an excellent performance. The music is fantastic and catchy. If you're a fan of Tim Burton's art style and of musicals; this movie is up your alley.

I'm normally not a big fan of musicals, but I must admit I was very entertained by this movie. There's enough here for even people who don't like musicals to enjoy and who doesn't like foggy old London?

This is a wonderful version of Sweeny Todd! Depp does a great job for doing the depths Todd had sunk to, the depravity of his actions, and the anguish during the plot twist ending.

This is by far the most explicit and gruesome of Tim Burton's films. Burton's movies are usually hit or miss with the public. If you are a fan, then it is top of the list.

Got it for $5. (Not used, but from Best Buy's $4.99 bin). Yes I doubled dipped on this one. Still have the price sticker from Virgin Mega-store where I had purchased it for $24.99

Sweeney Todd is a mind-twisting musical filled with wonderful dark humor.
