Yes, I was aware of what this was going into it, but still had no idea what to expect. I believe this will improve after multiple viewings, but my first impression was more bordom than anything else. I'm not a fan of most musicals where actors are singing. I can appreciate the talent of most Broadway actors/actresses in musicals. It just doesn't always translate to the screen. I'm a huge Burton/Depp/Bonham-Carter fan, but this just seemed to miss the mark for me. I certainly will give it more tries, but I initially think it is just not my cup of tea.

For a musical, the singing isn't what you would expect. But it is more about the story, which is very good. And the effects and directing are so well done you don't mind Depp singing.

I had seen this movie on TV several years ago and thought it was so strange, but my daughter wanted this movie now. She enjoys it.
