Better screen
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a long-time observer of game hardware development and user experience design, I consider the Nintendo Switch OLED Model to be a meaningful though incremental upgrade to an already versatile platform. From a hardware perspective, the OLED model retains the same core internals as the original 2017 Switch, including the NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip, meaning performance in terms of frame rate and resolution remains unchanged. However, Nintendo’s refinements in display, build quality, and audio presentation significantly enhance the user experience, particularly for handheld and tabletop gaming. The 7 inch OLED screen is the most notable improvement. Compared to the original LCD panel, the OLED display offers richer contrast, deeper blacks, and more vibrant colors. This elevates the visual quality of titles like Breath of the Wild, Metroid Dread, and Splatoon 3, especially in darker environments. While the resolution remains at 720p in handheld mode, the visual clarity feels improved due to the screen technology alone. The updated kickstand, now a wide adjustable hinge, addresses a longstanding complaint about the original's instability. It offers more flexibility and better ergonomics during tabletop play. Audio has also been subtly but meaningfully upgraded, with onboard speakers that deliver cleaner and louder output. Storage capacity has doubled from 32 GB to 64 GB, though frequent downloaders will still need a microSD card. Additionally, the dock now includes a wired LAN port, improving online connectivity for competitive and co-op titles, which is a small but impactful enhancement for users who primarily play in docked mode. However, it is important to note what has not changed. This is not a Pro model. There is no 4K support, no improvement to CPU or GPU performance, and the Joy Con controllers still suffer from the same analog stick drift issues reported in earlier versions. For users who already own a standard Switch and primarily use it docked, the OLED model may not justify the 50 dollar premium. For new users, frequent handheld players, or those with aging launch models, the OLED version represents the most polished iteration of the console to date. In summary, the Nintendo Switch OLED Model does not redefine the console experience but does refine it in smart, user focused ways. It is not a next generation leap, but it is the best version of the Switch available and a worthwhile upgrade for those who prioritize screen quality, portability, and overall hardware refinement.

Like the original Switch, but better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's not much else to say besides the title - the quality of life improvements of the kickstand, the screen, the speakers, and the battery life can't be understated. If you don't already have a Switch, the extra $50 is a no brainer. If you already have one, and you primarily play in handheld mode, try and find a decent deal and get someone to buy your current Switch and upgrade - the screen really is a game changer! The only gripe I have is obviously the Switch is a little long in the tooth, and it has the same Joycon joysticks that are known to drift after a while. Haven't had any issues with mine yet, but will keep an eye on it.

Perfect Upgrade for a Premium Gaming Experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Nintendo Switch OLED from Best Buy, and it has been a fantastic upgrade! The new 7-inch OLED screen is vibrant and stunning, making games look more colorful and immersive than ever. Whether I’m playing in handheld mode or docked, the visual quality is a noticeable improvement. The improved kickstand is another highlight—it feels sturdy and offers multiple viewing angles, perfect for tabletop play. The enhanced speakers deliver clearer sound, which adds to the overall experience. The system feels sleek and premium, with the white Joy-Con design looking especially clean and modern. While the internal specs are largely the same as the original Switch, the OLED model makes playing feel fresh and exciting. For anyone who enjoys portable gaming or just wants the best Switch experience available, this is worth every penny! Best Buy’s service was seamless as always—easy online ordering and fast pickup in-store. Highly recommend both the console and the retailer!

Subtle upgrade but a game changer
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the original Switch about a year after it was released, so I was hesitant to buy this one since the specs weren't that different. But I decided to sell my old one and upgrade to this one and it's definitely worth it. The main differences: - The big kickstand! Sooo much more stable (the one on my old Switch was flimsy and kept popping off). - Bigger and better and brighter screen. - The smaller bezels is really nice. - Great speakers (sound a bit louder). - Better battery life. Overall while these changes are minor they make the handheld experience for this console a whole lot better. Highly recommend!

Nintendo Switch Oled
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The OLED screen is stunning — colors are vibrant and sharp, making handheld gaming feel brand new. The sturdier kickstand and better speakers are huge upgrades, and the extra storage is a nice bonus. Easily the best version of the Switch!

Great Family Buy!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a 32-year-old parent with two young children, the Nintendo Switch OLED has been a game-changer for our family. The vivid and larger 7-inch OLED screen enhances the gaming experience, making colors pop and details more striking. My 12-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter are both captivated by the upgraded display, and it has turned family gaming sessions into a visually immersive delight. The improved kickstand offers more stability, which is perfect for tabletop gaming during our family game nights. The enhanced audio quality is also a noticeable improvement, making game soundtracks and effects more engaging. The increased storage capacity of 64GB is a great addition, allowing us to store more games without constantly managing space. Overall, the Nintendo Switch OLED has exceeded our expectations, providing an upgraded, versatile gaming experience that keeps both my children entertained and engaged. It’s been a fantastic addition to our household, fostering fun and quality time together. Highly recommended!

Happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally just bought this game for Pokémon. I've been nothing but a fan. The switch works great. I do prefer this one over the switch too. My brother has the switch too, and it performs almost identical except for slightly bigger.Obviously so not worth the extra money but really, really happy with this product

Enjoyyying gaming never before
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Liked game console with joy sticks. Purchased it as a gift for my son, he is enjoying it with OLED dosplay. Good bright display. Operating systems and menus also simple. Downloaded and purchased games like Mario8 and zelda. All quality products. As screen is delicate, its Recommended to put screen protector and use with any carry case. Travel will be easy after using case. Joy stick buttons are smooth. First time it took 3-4 hours to fully charge battery, capacity also good. Once I Used it for 5+ hrs without internet while travelling. With wifi battery may be less. Overall recommended. Packaging is sturdier and got in 1 days after shipping.

Amazing OLED Switch
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the flawless machines of our generation, and there aren't a ton. What can I say? Money well spent, the battery life is excellent, I played for like 45 minutes and the battery went from 100% to ~90%. The screen is gorgeous, the OLED is such a crisp image. It's super portable as well, and there are so many great games to choose from, especially the Nintendo exclusives like Pokémon and Mario. Also, the online membership is very affordable ($25/year i gitbal, which I, personally, appreciate coming from xbox where it's $60/year. Would recommend to anyone and everyone, it's just a shame they're all sold out.

Great gaming console for kids
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo Switch - OLED Model offers a fantastic gaming experience with its vibrant, larger OLED screen that brings games to life with richer colors and deeper contrasts. The improved kickstand is much more stable, making tabletop gaming more enjoyable, and the enhanced audio quality is a great bonus. One minor drawback, however, is that it doesn’t include performance upgrades compared to the original Switch, so you’re not getting faster processing or improved graphics beyond the screen itself. Overall, though, it’s an impressive upgrade for handheld gaming enthusiasts.

OLED Switch to You
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen of the OLED Switch makes the game more pop and aesthetic for the games. There was no problem running the console but storage is very limited. You can get Micro SD Card which is sold separate to gain more storage for any large games. The controllers are complex to handle but easy to get use too. Easy to use and a lot of fun to keep the party entertained!

Awesome revision to the Nintendo Switch
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not everyone needs this upgrade, but I highly recommend it! It is super nice having more screen real estate and the OLED makes your games reallly pop out in vivd colors and shines. The kickstand and upgraded speakers are nice but not really worth mentioning much. The slight dock upgrade helps as well. Not everyone will find it worth an extra $50 or $350, but I got my money's worth.

Just get this OLED version instead...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If this your first Switch, definitely get this OLED version if you could one. The screen is awesome than any of those three other versions. The kick stand is exactly how it should be: sturdy and stay in place at almost any angle. The extra 32GB also helps but a 512GB card would carry a lot more games. These three features alone are well worth the upgrade to the earlier three versions I already own. Well worth the $50 difference if you're only getting one.

Great all-around system with classic games
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gotta love the Nintendo Switch as a system that can be either played on the main TV or portable, as needed. The OLED model has a bigger screen and looks more updated. While I haven't compared them side-by-side, the new OLED model likely also has better colors and more depth of contrast due to the OLED nature. Definitely suggest over the old version if you can spare the extra $$. While we also have a PS4 and are likely to get a PS5, you can't beat the family-fun classics that come from Nintendo. Graphics not as powerful as the XBoX nor PS4, let alone the PS5 and other next-gen systems. Overpriced for the hardware you get, and games are definitely more expensive than they have any real right to be compared to the other systems.

Not the Switch Pro but an upgrade in other ways.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the Switch Pro that I was hoping for but the OLED switch is the definitive version of the switch for now. The OLED screen is larger, but not by much. You will notice the extra size but there is still bezel that they could have expanded towards. I have not noticed that the system play any smoother. But the screen has deeper darks and brighter light colors, and has more pop to the picture. I love the full body length kick stand. The battery life is roughly double that of the original switch (v1). I like the new cradle, it has an ethernet jack built in. I am very pleased with this version and think it is worth the extra cash over the non-OLED switch.

Super happy w/ OLED!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is Nintendo’s best version of their best system. The OLED display makes it so much more pleasing in handheld play. The vibrant, eye pleasing colors and perfect blacks are a joy to behold. Believe it or not, the OLED actually makes the games seem more lively and fun. It also has longer battery life, built in Bluetooth and an improved dock with more ports. It seems to run completely cool as well. I’ve never felt it even start to get warm after hours of gaming. Make no mistake, if you’re in the market for a new switch, the OLED is the one to get. I am 100% loving my purchase and enjoying the switch more than ever with this upgraded version. Nintendo has the some of the funnest games too! There’s something for everyone.

The vibrant screen makes games look incredible, and the improved kickstand is much sturdier. The Neon Red and Neon Blue Joy-Con add a fun pop of color. Perfect for gaming at home or on the go.
