Although the switch 2 library is limited I'm more concerned about the performance of the console. It's quick to load screens that took forever on the switch OLED. Games from the original switch play like a dream with the increased performance upgrades. Switch 2 games look incredible in docked mode but seem to struggled at times undocked.

The price is a bit of a tough pill to swallow. However, after using it for a few days, this is a premium console/handheld for the price. The display is fantastic. The updated joy cons feel so much better. It's beefier but not in an uncomfortable way. It feels "just right".
Now, looking past the hardware, I would not recommend this to someone on a fixed budget. Sure, you can use original joy cons with it but you'll soon find out, they won't be able to play all the mini games on Mario Party. And annoyingly, Mario Party locks out Mouse AND Motion mini games, without the Joy Con 2's. That's 99 dollars to get two more joy cons(L+R), but you don't get a joy con grip which is absolutely ridiculous. The grip with a charger is another 39 dollars for the branded model. You can buy just a left or right for 50. But now you gotta figure out how you're gonna charge the additional joy cons. There's third party charging stands that are a little cheaper.
Oh, thinking about getting an additional dock... 130 dollars for it. And you can't use just any USB charger on the dock, it must be the Nintendo branded as there's a chip inside both the charger and the dock that must communicate with each other.
Honestly, this is Apple tier BS. If you wanna bring great gaming and hardware to the masses, don't price out a significant amount of your base.
The other problem I have is the eshop is not the value proposition such as a PC store front. When games are costing up to 18% of the console price, it's hard to recommend to a family who might be on a tight budget. It's going to be difficult for Nintendo to compete in a handheld market that is now fully over saturated with premium handhelds that have access to cheaper PC store fronts.
Overall, can't recommend. Unless your kid is specifically asking for Nintendo exclusive games, your money would be better spent on a pc handheld with access to cheap libraries. You can get so much more for the same cost and your kid will have more games than they'll know what to do with. Or get this, two joy cons, and 3 first party titles and you'll be into this thing for 800+ dollars.

The Switch 2 is next level. The shame the switch has carried in the past can be crushed by this new console. The graphics are incredible, games that seemed unplayable on a switch 1 or switch lite are smooth and lack any sort of lag the previous gens have struggled keeping up with. The games are outstanding, and as more get released and upgrade packs become available to give your old games a new life, the potential the console has to offer in the future can excite you with reason now. I love the switch 2. Best purchase of 2025!

I definitely say it’s worth it especially if you have the original switch you’re getting better graphics battery life a bigger screen clearer visuals and it can connect to the WiFi with Ethernet

The Nintendo Switch 2 builds on the beloved hybrid gaming formula of the original Switch but brings meaningful upgrades in performance, visuals, and features. It’s designed to appeal to both longtime Nintendo fans and new players alike — delivering handheld flexibility and enhanced home-console power.

Console is overall great. Battery life off the dock is barely 2 hours biggest disappointment. The LCD screen surprised me honestly didn’t think it would be that great but exceeded my expectations. If you plan on keeping it docked and playing on monitor / tv I think it’s great but if you’re mobile then get used to being near a charger.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience deserves one.
From start to finish, Best Buy made buying my son’s Nintendo Switch 2 one of the smoothest purchases I’ve ever had. I added it to my cart, grabbed the protection plan, checked out, and within minutes I had a confirmation saying it was ready for pickup. No confusion. No delays. Just straight efficiency.
Pickup was ridiculous, in the best way. I walked in, showed my info, and I was out in about 30 seconds. No waiting around, no back-and-forth, no stress. That alone deserves props.
But the real moment was Christmas morning. Watching my son open that brand new Switch 2 was everything. Pure excitement. Wide eyes. Big smile. He didn’t even know what to say, just straight joy. He was up and playing within minutes, and I could tell instantly this wasn’t just a game system, it was a core memory.
Best Buy didn’t just sell me a console, they delivered an experience that was easy, reliable, and genuinely meaningful for my family. If you’re looking for hassle free shopping and moments that actually matter, this is it.
10/10. Would absolutely do it again

This is a really great console. I had a Switch 1
for 7 years but it’s been showing its age recently so the Switch 2 came out at just the right time. Switch 2 is better than the Switch 1 in every way. The games run so smoothly and fast, and the graphics look beautiful. The Joy-Cons 2 feel really nice and the buttons are bigger. I love how they connect with magnets instead of the rails like the Switch 1. This bundle comes with Mario Kart World which is soooo much fun, especially when playing with friends. I am very excited for future exclusive games for this console and I’m happy I was able to get it. If you loved the Switch 1, you’ll love the Switch 2. If you’re considering getting a Nintendo console and are not sure whether to get a Switch 1 or Switch 2, I strongly suggest getting the Switch 2 because it will give you much better performance, will last you more years, and give you access to all the upcoming exclusives.

One of the best purchases you can make for you and your family, allowing several people to play and feel like a family. The screen is very wide and allows you to see the designs very well. I recommend it 100%.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a strong evolution of its predecessor, blending handheld convenience with boosted performance. The upgraded hardware delivers noticeably smoother gameplay, faster load times, and enhanced graphics — finally bringing Nintendo closer to current-gen standards while still focusing on fun over raw power.
The OLED display (if included) is vibrant, and the improved Joy-Con drift resistance is a welcome fix. Backward compatibility with original Switch games adds major value, and new exclusive titles help show off what the system can do.
Still, it’s not a huge leap — more of a refined upgrade than a total reinvention. But for fans of Nintendo’s ecosystem or newcomers seeking versatility, the Switch 2 is an easy recommendation.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a lovely piece of hardware to run all the Nintendo games you like, just better. The change from sliders to a magnetic connection of the joycons is nice to use. Many of the additional features are interesting, but not captivating enough to be worth it. An integrated ethernet port as well as the additional usb type-c port on the console are extremely nice to have. Overall a good improvement to the original Nintendo Switch. Is it worth the price? Depends on how much you want improved performance!

As an owner of all the Nintendo Switch systems, this console blew all my expectations out of the water. It runs games that feel like they were made for the next generation, including Mario Kart World bundled with it. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d say personally, even as someone casually enjoying it, the quality of previous Nintendo Switch consoles is improved upon ten fold with the Nintendo Switch 2. I couldn’t imagine running many heavy hitters like Donkey Kong Bananza on those systems; well worth the investment.

I had a very easy & efficient purchase with best buy. I gave it some time to review & honestly it is worth upgrading from the original switch. The redesign in details is what makes me like the switch so much more. It comes with 2 holders & 1 controller already. There’s not really a need to buy anything else unless you want the camera which seems to be very fun if you have games that offer it.

I like the switch 2. I feel they just right, what they got wrong on the first one. SD cards are a rip off, but games do download much faster.
Hardware can actually handle modern games. I personally purchased the 2 year warranty, but truth be told, I most likely will not need it. I think the switch 2 feels much more premium as opposed to the switch.
If you don’t have the money, I say save up for the switch 2 rather than games right now. Switch games are backwards compatible.
My advice start buying physical media. I don’t know about the youngest dudes but us that are 30 and up should demand physical copies.
Within reason of course. Like ports are ok. You know what I mean.
Good Purchase, get your bread up.

Full disclaimer: I am a Nintendo fanboy. I love this console. The controllers feel smooth and overall are just better. The screen is great and the performance is truly amazing.
Even the Switch 1 games just run better and faster.

The graphics and the wholehearted gameplay of nintendo is here in the Switch2. It runs so smoothly, making gameplay that much more enjoyable and I am excited for Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Pokémon games to get this smooth frame rate with their new games this year! As someone who recently went to the Nintendo Museum, the care and history of this company is singular and I am thrilled to be a part of this evolution in its gaming. I do recommend the procontroller because it enriches gameplay and as someone who enjoys home console gameplay, the huge screen really displays an enriched game experience.
