The console performs very well! Graphics are a major improvement, but at the cost of the battery life being noticeably shorter.

I bought my Switch 2 almost a month ago and this is my personal review for it. So the main reason I wanted to buy this console was the handheld aspect of it. Because a good chunk of my game time this past year has been on the go. And I wanted something with power and good games. Now I know at the time I’m doing this review there are only two big games on this console. MK world which is $80… and then the new donkey Kong. So I decided to get the MK bundle so that way it’s like I’m paying 50$ for an 80$ game. And speaking of MK….It’s a pretty good game but it does get old after a while so I would recommend getting the bundle with the game because I don’t think it’s quite worth $80. But overall I’ve been enjoying this console. So if you want a portable console with decent power and years of exclusives go for it. But if you’re not that interested in the games that are out right now I would recommend waiting another year or two for there to be more games with hopefully lower prices. This is my first review on Best Buy so hopefully I did OK. (: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved! :)

Disappointed that it is not an OLED display. Feels like a step back in comparison to the switch OLED. The battery life is also bad. The only positives are the slightly larger screen size, larger joy-cons, and quicker load times. Hard to recommend if you already have a Switch OLED.

I was one of those who stayed out for the midnight launch for the switch 2, and im so glad i did. With the backwards compatibility, I've been catching up on some older pokemon games on top of the Nintendo online expansion + having a lot of games from regular Nes to gamecube. I haven't got all the attachments yet like the camera but most likely will eventually. They have a lot of games coming out that will be a must play like donkey kong bonanza and tony hawk pro skater and a new 007 james bond game which will make the Nintendo switch2 a great holiday gift for the family this year. -PW

This is a fantastic new console from Nintendo. I could go on and on about the screen, the power and all the other little touches here and there but one of the biggest things for me is it's backwards compatibility. Quite a few games that don't even have official upgrades or improvement patches just look better and run smoothly if the game had dynamic resolution and didn't have a capped frame rate. The games just simply play outstanding on the Switch 2, which is quite the surprise and a very welcome one! Overall, I am quite happy with the switch 2 and can't wait for all the new games and such to come in the future.

Great pickup experience and, with high demand items, Best Buy has had the most solid system with their variety of bundles! I have a PS5 and Switch 2 both thanks to them. The Switch 2 itself is a wonderful upgrade and fixes the frustrating frame rate and graphical issues with games like Xenoblade 3, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The free upgrades to Switch 1 games is a very nice perk. The kickstand is much more comfortable, the battery life is improved, and the charging port on both top and bottom is a wonderfully needed correction.

As someone who's rocked a day one switch for 8 years, this has been a fantastic step up in just about every regard. The new joycons feel a lot more comfortable to use and seeing a performance jump across the board for all of my old switch 1 games has helped to make them all feel better to play. Getting this bundles with mario kart has also been great (mainly cause I'm not paying 80 freaking dollars for it). While I'm not too jazzed about the pricing for most games and accessories, the console itself I think manages to justify its own price with what it's capible of.

Amazing console with a bright vibrant screen! Mario Kart World is a bunch of fun that I didn't think I would have while playing. Battery life could be better, but it's understood for this level of performance.

Love the Nintendo switch 2. No glitches, it arrived in great condition. The system runs smoothly and it included the mario Cart game which is awesome. Easy set up and I was able to transfer games from my old Nintendo switch

Most fun system out right now. Perfect for if you game on the go and the new graphics + speed make it way better than the original. To me the way multiplayer works makes it great for the whole family

    Fantastic hardware, greedily priced software

Finally made me want to play the Switch again, refresh rate and resolution are top notch and the larger size is perfect my eyes and hands. Hardware pricing is perfectly fine imo; the real pricing issues reside in the software. If I hadn’t got the Mario Kart bundle I would feel a bit scammed. Most Nintendo games are nowhere near worth $80, especially Mario Kart World, a game littered with small inconveniences that really add up when slapped with such a high price tag. The library at this point is pretty barebones if you owned and played all the Switch 1 games you wanted, but if you somehow haven’t played titles like Tears of the Kingdom dear lord get this. Off topic but I also highly recommend the “Killswitch 2” case by dbrand if you often play handheld for maximum comfort

Good Upgrade - Get a EX SD Card Too*

I bought a Switch 2 (S2) as an upgrade for the many Switches (S1) in my household of four. It is a nice handheld and the build quality seems better than the S1. The set-up was frustrating (*this does not apply to those without a Nintendo account). Basically, the unit requires a Express (EX) SD card to transfer the information from your old S1 to the S2. We have all kinds of SD cards, but none were EX. This meant that we were not able to play on day one (Xmas). Got the correct SD card the next day, which was an additional $60, wasn't happy about that. After doing the transfer the system was up and running. I then decided to download the bundled game. That took longer than expected, probably because I had a kid asking if it was ready every 5 minutes. The game finally downloaded and my kids got to play the system a day after they received it. The new Mariokart was well received. My son also enjoyed the larger format. We got some additional controllers, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Metroid and FC 26. Nothing has been touched and the kids have mostly been playing the S1 games on the S2. I think that the S2 is a good upgrade as compared to the S1. Nothing has really sparked my interest as an adult gamer, but hopefully their will be some good titles coming out in 2026.

I was one of the people against the idea of owning a console you “don’t really own”. I don't agree with Nintendo and their tactics of non physical games either. But besides that it is a good console, games are smoother, the screen is nice. A FEW $$$ WARNINGS: If you are not financially in a good place or are getting this for a child just know you’re most likely going to spend much more than the console price to get a full good experience. The games are expensive as well. I recommend getting their subscription if you want to update some of your games to the switch 2 format or be willing to pay to upgrade each game for $10. If you want storage you can’t just use a normal SD card. You gotta buy a EXPRESS SD card ($$). Dont forget a screen protector, hard case and a carrying case ($$$). If you can afford it go for it. I didn’t realize how much more I’d spend till I got it honestly — I swear Nintendo didn’t used to be this bad. Know what you're getting yourself into, do some research and know if you try to jail break or hack you basically get stuck with a $$$ expensive brick.

Best Console I’ve Bought in Years

I’ve had the Nintendo Switch 2 for a few weeks now, and honestly, it’s everything I hoped the next Switch would be. It feels familiar but way more powerful and polished. The new screen is absolutely gorgeous — brighter, sharper, and just makes every game pop. Docked mode looks great too; being able to play in 4K makes a bigger difference than I expected. Load times are super fast, and games run buttery smooth. The new Joy-Cons are a huge upgrade. They feel sturdier, the buttons have a nice click, and best of all — no drift! Battery life is also noticeably better. I’ve played a few long sessions on the go and still had plenty of juice left. I’ve been jumping between Zelda: Echoes of Hyrule, Mario Kart 9, and some older titles thanks to backwards compatibility, and everything runs perfectly. It really feels like Nintendo finally nailed the hybrid console idea completely this time. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the internal storage could still be bigger (thankfully microSDs are cheap), but that’s about it. Overall, the Switch 2 just makes gaming fun again — whether I’m playing on the couch, traveling, or killing time between classes. Nintendo absolutely crushed it with this one.

The perfect upgrade from a launch Nintendo Switch. I would've loved an OLED screen, but the 120hz 1080 LED screen is still pleasant to the eyes. I love this device, game selection is growing, and backwards capability is essential with high rez upgrades.

    What a special, special console…

TLDR: This console is a triumph of human imagination, ingenuity, and just a testemant to having a good time with multimedia that is more about people and stories! In an era of low-effort and innovation games, Nintendo is still on top of their game as though the competition is fierce. The most important plus is the games… This console is currently the highest performer in its individual niche, but even when there is “better hardware”, if the games aren’t as good, it means nothing. The first-party games are overflowing with joy, wonder, and creativity. The second and third party games do actually join this party to be able to get into the special occasion that is this console. One caveat is the prices… However, I recommend getting second-hand physical copies of temporary games and reselling them after you ahd your fun. I saved hundreds of dollars this way, especially thanks to the backwards compatibility. Finally, and least importantly, ergonomics are better than ever, though I still recommend getting grips for the joycons. The battery capacity goes for a while (a while that is unhealthy to play in one sitting), so I recommend you not worry about battery capacity and instead focus on what you do and imagine during your breaks from the special world that this console is a magical door to. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys visual and musical arts, as well as anyone who wants to get into Nintendo!
