A Worthy Upgrade! The Nintendo Switch 2 is a Game-

I’ve been a fan of the original Nintendo Switch, but after picking up the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s clear that this new version is a serious upgrade. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed with the sleek design. The 7.9-inch HDR screen looks stunning, with sharp, vibrant colors that make games pop in a way the original just couldn’t.
The design is sleek and modern, yet still maintains that signature hybrid feel. The new Joy-Con controllers are more comfortable and feel sturdier, with a better connection. I love the new magnetic attachment feature – no more worrying about loose connections during gameplay.
In terms of performance, the Switch 2 is a powerhouse. Games load faster, run smoother, and the 4K capabilities when docked are a huge win for anyone who enjoys playing on a bigger screen. Plus, the fact that it supports ray tracing is a fantastic touch that brings a whole new level of immersion to some of my favorite titles.
Battery life is decent, and while it’s not a huge jump from the original, I still get plenty of playtime on the go. The improved kickstand also makes tabletop gaming way more enjoyable.
All in all, if you're a fan of the Switch or just looking for a portable gaming device with a bigger punch, the Nintendo Switch 2 is an excellent choice. Highly recommend it!

Great upgrade from the original Switch. Almost every aspect is better, the larger screen (LED not like the Switch OLED version), larger JoyCon controllers and feels better. Playing it docked gets you 4k 60hz gaming which is way nicer than the original Switch. Although it feels similar battery life in handheld mode as the original Switch at around 2 hours. I would have hoped for longer battery life for the Switch 2.
There aren’t very many new games for the launch of the system, so time will tell how good this system will be.
One other thing is the packaging of the system was concerning with the system/screen not being very protected as it sits right at the top of the box.

Honestly, I didn't have any expectations other than to enjoy a classic game. Sure, most people are always going to make comparisons about all the previous game versions prior to MKW, but it is very fun.
As a person who grew up with the original gaming systems from the regular nintendo console, this is definitely an upgrade.
As far as price, I'm not going to go into it as that is a different subject matter, however, I was able to score a bundle when the pre-orders were finally live. I didn't think I'd get my hands on one, but I did and it was worth the waiting game.
This is a console that I can definitely say that my family and I will share as the expansion opportunities for certain games, like Jamboree, for example.
I hadn't upgraded from my original switch since i first bought it. I'm glad I was able to transfer my downloaded games onto the NS2.
This is something I look forward to using with family and friends, especially on gaming nights.

I picked up the Switch 2 from Best Buy recently, and overall I'm impressed. The performance bump is noticeable - smoother frame rates, faster load times, and much better battery life compared to the original Switch. The screen is crisp and bright, making handheld mode more enjoyable.
Build quality feels solid, and the improved Joy-Cons have less drift (at least so far). Game compatibility is excellent - my old library works fine, and the new titles optimized for Switch 2 look great.
If you're on the fence about upgrading from the OG Switch or Lite - this is the version Nintendo should've launched years ago. Definitely recommend it.

Came with no staples 10/10 got my switch 2 at early launch and employees were so organized and kind and made the experience fun the switch 2 is made very well and definitely an upgrade from the og switch and seitch oled the colors on s2 are more vibrant and if youre worried about it not looking as good as your oled you shouldnt be i compared both side by side ans perfer my s2. The size is mich bigher while still being light and easy to hold even for small girl hands and the joys cons snap in so nice and snug with no wiggle and wont just fall off. The material the s2 is made of makes my oled and my s1 feel lile cheap knock offs.couldnt be more pleased if you enjoy mobile gamimg or if you love your s1 or oled and you have the money i say its worth the upgrade

The Switch 2 is phenomenal. It’s exactly what a lot of us were asking for. I have such a massive backlog that was struggling on my original Switch, now I can finally get through those games with a solid frame rate and upscale resolution. The thing I’m most excited for is this will be the system my kids grow up on playing Mario Kart and tons of other Nintendo games. I’m so excited for how pumped they are about it.
People are complaining about the battery life, but what they don’t understand is that this is substantially thinner and lighter than the steam deck and other premium handhelds that are priced up to $1,000. To the haters of the Switch 2, let us have our fun. Go enjoy your other handheld PC games and let us enjoy our Nintendo games with our families.

It is definitely an improvement over the first switch and competes with a lot of other handhelds, but it definitely feels bare. Mario Kart World is a great launch title, but it still feels like it would benefit from some other releases. The backwards compatibility is a great feature and I hope developers add some more Switch 2 game upgrades to maximize the new features. Additionally, I think the screen is able to compete with the OLED from last gen, but I do hope the option becomes available again.

I have been having a blast with my Switch 2. The screen is a great size and looks great. Playing in docked mode is amazing on a 4K TV. I've been replaying BOTW Switch 2 edition on my TV and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. My wife was impressed with it enough that she asked for one for Xmas. Spoiler, I got one for her already. The OG Switch was great and this just builds on it.

I just want to say that I love my new NS2!
It's definitely a better and improved version os NS1, great speakers, sharp images, build quality and so on
One thing I want to mention is the baterry life, it's not great at all, around 2 hours until it gets to 15 - 20% left and I need to dock it, don't like the option to charge it and use it at the same time, I feel like it can damage the baterry but besides that, no complaints

Good leap in performance over original switch and oled (aside from screen), with steady frame rates on many older games which struggled on the original switch. Storage is adequate for first party titles so it’s generally worth waiting for prices to go down on micro sd express for future expansion. The magnetic joycons lock in and are noticeably less wobbly than the old rails of the original. The lcd screen is vibrant with a wide color gamut compared to the old switch and the backlight bleed was minimal with no obvious pressure points of light bleed on the edges unlike the original steam deck. The permanently applied plastic protective film which should not be removed scratches easily so it’s recommended to get a screen protector. Battery life % went down very fast on the first week but after a few cycles, the battery life reading was more as advertised.

Great console, terrible battery life

The Nintendo Switch 2 console is almost perfect. Almost.
The 1080p screen is a nice upgrade. The 4K capability while docked is awesome, I just wish it was also like that handheld since that's how I play the most. The upgraded memory and processor are big wins, especially noticeable with Switch 1 games. Load times are greatly reduced! The electromagnetic joycons are super cool, snapping them in and out is a breeze and there's no worry about accidentally sliding the joycon in the wrong direction and getting it stuck on the rails. The console also comes with a built in screen protector which is really nice because I don't have to go out and buy my own.
Now on to the bad... it's the only fault I have found so far in the switch 2, and that's the battery life on handheld mode. Obviously this isn't a huge deal to those who only play while docked, but if you're like me and you play handheld most of the time, then it'll come as a shock how quickly the battery drains. I used to game handheld for days with the Switch 1, only charging it once it got to 10% battery or lower. With the Switch 2, the battery is almost dead within 2 or 3 hours. I haven't taken the time to actually clock the duration of the battery, but it is god awful. I'm hoping beyond hope that 3rd party accessory makers for the Switch 2 hurry up and make an external battery case for it because I can't imagine taking my Switch 2 on a long plane ride and having it die on me midway through.
All in all, I give it a 4/5 stars. The console is immaculate except the battery issue which warrants the loss of a star.

My Review of the Nintendo Switch

I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch 2 for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s the upgrade I was hoping for. Nintendo kept everything I loved about the original Switch but made it faster, smoother, and more enjoyable in just about every way.
The first thing I noticed was the performance boost. Games load quicker, run more smoothly, and look significantly sharper both in handheld and docked mode. The new display is bright and vibrant, and it makes every game—from big adventures to simple indies—look amazing.
I also really appreciate the improved battery life. I can play for much longer periods without worrying about charging, and the handheld mode feels much more comfortable thanks to the refined design and sturdier build.
The updated Joy-Cons feel better in my hands, the menus are faster, and the whole system just feels more modern and polished. The fact that it’s backward compatible is a huge plus, because I was able to bring my entire Switch library with me right away.
Overall, the Nintendo Switch 2 feels like a natural evolution of the original. It doesn’t change what makes the Switch special—it just makes everything better. I’m genuinely impressed, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Nintendo or portable gaming.

This is a fantastic new console from Nintendo. I could go on and on about the screen, the power and all the other little touches here and there but one of the biggest things for me is it's backwards compatibility. Quite a few games that don't even have official upgrades or improvement patches just look better and run smoothly if the game had dynamic resolution and didn't have a capped frame rate. The games just simply play outstanding on the Switch 2, which is quite the surprise and a very welcome one! Overall, I am quite happy with the switch 2 and can't wait for all the new games and such to come in the future.

This console is the perfection of handheld gaming. The thought of trying something like this may be hard to get into for some, but if you ever find an opportunity to try it… do it. You will find yourself enjoying life a lot more with this thing trust me. Nintendo knocks it out by perfecting many flaws of its predecessor. Couldn’t recommend it more if you love video games. It’s beautiful.

The Switch 2 exceeded all my expectations. The graphics are noticeably smoother and more vibrant, and the faster loading times make a huge difference when jumping between games. I also love the upgraded screen—it looks incredible whether I’m playing docked or handheld. The battery life is solid, and everything feels more responsive overall.
Nintendo really listened to what fans wanted. Backward compatibility is a huge plus, and the new titles optimized for the Switch 2 run beautifully. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading or getting your first console, this is the one to get. Zero regrets—worth every penny!

Great pickup experience and, with high demand items, Best Buy has had the most solid system with their variety of bundles! I have a PS5 and Switch 2 both thanks to them.
The Switch 2 itself is a wonderful upgrade and fixes the frustrating frame rate and graphical issues with games like Xenoblade 3, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The free upgrades to Switch 1 games is a very nice perk. The kickstand is much more comfortable, the battery life is improved, and the charging port on both top and bottom is a wonderfully needed correction.

Good Upgrade - Get a EX SD Card Too*

I bought a Switch 2 (S2) as an upgrade for the many Switches (S1) in my household of four. It is a nice handheld and the build quality seems better than the S1.
The set-up was frustrating (*this does not apply to those without a Nintendo account). Basically, the unit requires a Express (EX) SD card to transfer the information from your old S1 to the S2. We have all kinds of SD cards, but none were EX. This meant that we were not able to play on day one (Xmas). Got the correct SD card the next day, which was an additional $60, wasn't happy about that. After doing the transfer the system was up and running. I then decided to download the bundled game. That took longer than expected, probably because I had a kid asking if it was ready every 5 minutes. The game finally downloaded and my kids got to play the system a day after they received it. The new Mariokart was well received. My son also enjoyed the larger format.
We got some additional controllers, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Metroid and FC 26. Nothing has been touched and the kids have mostly been playing the S1 games on the S2.
I think that the S2 is a good upgrade as compared to the S1. Nothing has really sparked my interest as an adult gamer, but hopefully their will be some good titles coming out in 2026.

I’ve been wanting a Switch for so long, so when the Switch 2 came out, i had to buy it. I love the console because it’s hand held and easy to travel with. I’ve always been a Nintendo Girly, and have a lot of their products so this came just in time. I haven’t played on the big screen yet, but I’ll get there in due time. Mario Kart is a blast! I have so much fun and love how crispy and clear it is on the screen! Lately, I’ve been playing old school games with my online account. Great job Nintendo!
