We are absolutely loving it. Right out of the box, the screen is so much bigger and such a bright, vivid improvement over the original Switch. The new Joy-Cons are bigger and sleeker, and the way they magnetically snap onto the console is really satisfying. It’s quickly evident that the system runs faster and more smoothly. Navigating the eShop and Switch Online apps feels fast and smooth. And the games… the games are gorgeous. We’re finally playing Nintendo in shiny 4K! Switch 1 games even run noticeably better, and the Switch 2 upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are so beautiful that they immediately feel like whole new games. They look and feel like this was always how they were meant to be played. Onboard storage is only 250GB, but unless you’re moving over eight years’ worth of Switch 1 games, that’ll be more than enough to hold you over until you’re ready to expand.
And don’t overlook the excellent Nintendo GameCube app, which is only playable on this console.
After eight years (!) with the Switch 1, the Switch 2 is such an instantly appreciable upgrade in every way that it’s a sheer delight from the moment you take it out of the box. We’re having an absolute blast and so is everyone we know. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Upgrading from the Switch 1, the Nintendo Switch 2 is an amazing piece of technology that takes what’s great about the Nintendo Switch and improves upon it. Internally, the Switch 2 is double the power of its predecessor with a newer CPU and GPU, triple the RAM (12GB), 1080p on handheld/tabletop mode, 4K HDR support when docked, and so much more. When playing Nintendo Switch games on it, most of them run with enhanced resolution and faster load times, effectively making it a Switch 1 Pro. That being said, despite every good thing that I’ve mentioned so far, there are certain aspects that can hinder the overall experience. The battery life is only around 2-3 hours (compared to 4.5-9 hours on the Switch OLED), 256GB of internal storage isn’t enough for storing dozens of digital games without expanding it via a microSD Express card (which, by the way, it doesn’t support regular microSD cards for storing games), but most importantly, the fact that Nintendo is charging $450 for this + $70-80 per first-party Switch 2 game. If you’re very selective with what games you get or are just looking to upgrade for the long-term, the Nintendo Switch 2 is a good console and can be a worthwhile upgrade for Switch 1 owners. You just have to be very careful if you’re looking to save money or prioritize which games and accessories have the best value for you.

I love using this switch as a hand held. I also have the Oled. Both are great, but i can tell they really thought out the design of this swich 2. My only gripe is that its pricy. Loved putting DBrand skins on it.

I love my switch 2. The games look better and it overall feels better playing handheld. My only grip with the product is the battery life but I haven’t had too many issues with it especially with the new charging port ontop of the switch makes playing handheld while charging 100x more enjoyable

I have had a switch since it first came out 8 years ago. The original switch cannot compare to switch 2 but the differences in screen between the oled and this are not as big of an upgrade. Everything loads much faster and the joycons feel good. I have larger palms but it still feels light and comfortable to hold. I am looking forawrd to trying the mouse controls with metroid. It has that great nintendo charm, i just wish there was a little more or a newer home screen experience.

Nintendo Switch 2 has become a truly versatile console for our family. I use it both to play together with my child and on my own, and it works perfectly in every scenario.
We often play Mario and Sonic together — both on the TV at home and in handheld mode. The ability to quickly switch between docked and portable play is extremely convenient. During trips and even in the car, my child can keep playing without any complicated setup.
As a father and adult gamer, I also really enjoy playing Fallout Shelter directly on the touchscreen, without using Joy-Cons at all. The touch controls feel natural and comfortable, almost like using a tablet, but with better performance and a larger screen.
Right after purchase, I applied a screen protector to prevent scratches when docking the console and bought a carrying case with cartridge holders, which makes storage and travel much more convenient.
Before the holidays, I also purchased GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and Cyberpunk from Best Buy. The console handles a wide range of games extremely well — from family-friendly titles to full-scale games for adults.
Overall, Nintendo Switch 2 offers the perfect balance between family entertainment and serious gaming. One console, many ways to play. I’m very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.

Im impressed. Playing nintendo games at a higher frame rate is absolutely amazing. The only complaint i might have is that the battery dies so fast in handheld mode. Maybe they couldve done better on that end of it... BUT i play with it docked so im not going to be the one that complains.

This is a step up from the original Switch; larger-ish screen, better connected controls scheme, even a faster load time for most games. It’s amazing to play AC: Shadows or Cyberpunk 2077 on a switch and still match the 60fps and VRR as that of a PS5.
While it’s not perfect, it’s close to being a awesome good console/portable gaming system. While some switch games aren’t fully backwards compatible (yet); Nintendo did state they are working on those games. But for the price (which is also questionable…), I can see some will be okay with the purchase.
Also the SD card, you can not use; you will have to get a SD express card!!
For me? It’s a very good console and would love to see its potential further.

Nintendo has finally delivered what fans have been requesting for years: a more powerful handheld console. This is the first time the “Switch” concept truly lives up to its ambitious vision. Backward compatibility is a solid feature, though a few minor tweaks could enhance the experience even further. The device feels premium—no longer toy-like, unlike its predecessor. The only downside is battery life, which maxes out at around 2.5 hours in any game. In that regard, the original Switch with the OLED model offered much better endurance.

LOVE IT!!! The screen size is great!! The graphics are super clear. When I play Fortnite it’s not super pixelated. I LOVE the stand and it doesn’t fall over like the old switch I used to have. It’s faster and I love that you can either charge from the top or bottom. Highly recommend getting the switch 2!

he Nintendo Switch 2 is a solid upgrade with impressive performance and a sleek design. Gameplay is smooth, and the new features make it feel like a true next-gen handheld-console hybrid. The only downsides are the limited launch library and battery life that doesn’t quite match the OLED version. Still, a great system with huge potential once more titles roll out.

One month review: I was thoroughly impressed when I got my hands on the Switch 2 on launch day! However, the new games truly convinced me to opt for the newer model.
I’ve been a loyal Switch user since the original model in 2017, then transitioned to the OLED model in 2021, and now I’ve got the Switch 2.
Of course, I’m delighted with its performance. While the battery life is slightly shorter due to the larger screen, it’s understandable. It’s definitely a bit heavier to carry around, but it’s still an absolute blast to play, especially with Mario Kart World and Cyberpunk 2077.

Now there are some games that don't work on the switch 2 that work on the Switch 1. Nintendo is looking into it. Also, keep your switch 1 just in case and keep your joy con controllers as well. This console is a bigger, it makes some games perform better. It has better connection. It has better amibo support( you don't have to take the amibo out of the box) and it has a greater display. I would say bye, if you want better performing games. But the games will be a little bit more expensive for that high performance. Look on nintendo's page to see which games do not work. I cannot see the nintendo switch 2 being a necessity, this time, but at the time of this review, it's not even a year old.So we're just gonna have to wait and see.

I had the nintendo switch, that I purchased in 2020. I enjoyed the system and was excited to upgrade. I really do like the bigger screen, better graphics and even the joycon is much better. Overall, I think it’s great

Now im playing with power! I have had every single nintendo console in my entire life so getting the switch 2 was a no brainer. This console is powerful with the convenience of being handheld. The quality of life improvements are great and noticeable. The magnetic joycons are chef kiss. Bigger screen, faster processing are also a major plus. All the negative trolls out there are just trolls who want to spread high misinformation. I absolutely recommend a switch 2.

much improved performance and visual quality over the Switch 1 or Switch OLED for Pokemon Violet/Scarlet. Higher res, no stuttering, more FPS, more pokemon spawns. This is the way the game was meant to be played!
The only downside is the battery life seems to be shorter compared to the Switch OLED but I guess that's expected since the console is also much more powerful.

A great piece of hardware, iterated on everything that made the original switch great. Better magnetic joy-cons. A larger screen but same thickness. 1080p 120hz display.

Experience the future of portable gaming with the Nintendo Switch 2. Featuring upgraded performance, enhanced visuals, and seamless docking capabilities, it delivers console-quality experiences both on the go and at home. Perfect for solo adventures or multiplayer fun.

From the moment I took it out of the box, I was immediately impressed with the quality and feel of this system over its predecessor. The biggest single improvement is the Joy-Con 2. It’s much more comfortable, premium, and doesn’t look like a toy like the original. The screen is also massively better at full HD. Having owned the console for several months now, I would have liked to see free performance updates for tentpole Switch titles such as SUPER MARIO BROS. WONDER. WONDER runs at 720p in handheld mode and is borderline unplayable in its current state. I really hope there is a free patch to fix this, but I fear that better performance will be locked behind the paid update next year, as is the case with THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD, and its sequel, TEARS OF THE KINDGOM. In the later’s case, subscribers of the NSO + EXPANSION PACK can download the update for free.
One might argue that it’s unfair to expect Nintendo to patch previous-gen titles for their new system, but I’m sure most would agree that Switch 2 owners would prefer not to carry around two devices, and given that Nintendo announced backwards compatibility as an incentive to upgrade, it would be courteous of them to patch classic Switch titles at a time when the Switch 2 is severely lacking in exclusive next-gen software. I have logged 80 hours and 60 hours into MARIO KART WORLD and DONKEY KONG BANANZA, respectively. For major first-party exclusive content for Switch 2, all we have for the remainder of 2024 is KIRBY AIR RIDERS and HYRULE WARRIORS: AGE OF IMPRISONMENT. I mostly play in docked mode, and lately if I play my Switch 2 at all, it is for SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE, and SPLATOON 3. I will credit Nintendo for improving on SPLATOON 3 and SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY performance very quickly and without charge.
For all its faults, the Nintendo Switch 2 is an excellent successor to the original Nintendo Switch in its hardware capabilities. I strongly feel that it will become a worthy successor once it has had time to grow its exclusive library. In the meantime, I would advise reluctant shoppers to wait. Titles such as METROID PRIME 4: BEYOND and POKÉMON LEGENDS: Z-A will have Switch 2 patches available for the original Switch versions, so there’s no rush for consumers interested in those titles specifically.

I was on the fence about the Switch 2 but once I had it in my hand I knew it was well worth the money spent. First hand, the screen is MASSIVE. Not only that, the resolution is just as great. This console itself feels premium and its all black look in my opinion gives its a sleek look. Worth getting it.
