I usually don’t play video games like Xbox or ps4. My bf does but I’ve never been a game person. I bought a switch to play with friends and to combat boredom while quarantined. This thing is amazing!! I won’t let my bad play it because I’m addicted to my games.

I have had a great time play Mario on the Switch. I did have to break down and buy the pro-controller. The controllers that come with the switch are too small for adults to use comfortably in two player mode. I assume that was by design. That being said, the cost of the pro-controller is about $20.00 to high.

I've been a fan of Nintendo products for a long time. The Switch did not disappoint. It was easy to get set up and is easy to use. I like that it can be used as a handheld (slightly awkward to hold with smaller hands, but still fun) or connected to the TV. I totally recommend this if you love Nintendo products.

Nintendo Switch is a great game unit to play either hand held (cordless} or on the TV via the cord. Great graphics & sound. Easy set up & use. Has many user options from setting the screen brightness, to sound level & even a headphone jack. I wish their were more games offered, especially the "old classics."

I was hesitant about the Switch when I first heard about it. But after hearing the reviews about the games and the console, I knew I had to get one. The best thing about it is that you can play in your bed after moving from your TV. It's also nice to see that Nintendo is finally in HD after the Wii and Wii U.

I love to play video games and as such, own just about every console. I cannot put down my Switch since I picked it up. So much fun and it brings back a bit of nostalgia from when I was gaming as a kid. Great for adults, kids, families and the lineup for games keeps getting better and better. Portability>4k.

This was purchased as an upgrade over the Wii U. We've been using Nintendo since the original Wii. My son, in particular, is more into mobile gaming and the Switch offers the best of both. We can use it for family play on the TV and he can take it with him as a stand alone machine for his games. Very happy.

This little console has brought me, my family and friends so much joy. It is a ton of fun, a great way to relax and unwind. The ability to take it everywhere you go is just awesome, and when you get home, just dock it and play on your tv! It's definitely not cheap, but I do not regret this purchase one bit!

It's what you get if you cross a Wii with a DS.

Nintendo combined their mobile production companies with their console production companies, showing you just how much they're all-in on this product. It's a 3DS, it's a Wii, it's a Wii U, all combined and better than ever. Two controllers. Remember the Wii-motes? Them. They lock in on the sides of the Switch unit's touch screen, which is about 6 inches in size. This lets you play any game on the go, anywhere. Battery life is moderately okay, around 5 hours or so... maximum. But you can play Mario Kart in your bathroom, so I'm not complaining. Want to do some TV console gaming? Lock the unit in the Switch's dock, and voila, it connects to a TV via HDMI cords and you're done. TV gaming like we all know and love. You can buy an optional wireless controller for docked gaming, or unlock the Wiimotes from the Switch core and use those to game normally. It's a Wii. It's a DS. It's a Wii U. It's everything and then some. And it's got the absolute 100% backing of Nintendo, a company back to its roots of making some of the best gaming ever. Five stars!

A return to form from Nintendo.

The switch is a nice return to form from Nintendo . The Wii was their last console that gave them a great deal of success but they seem to have learned from some missteps from the Wii U and come back with a great console here. Before getting into my review I'll just mention that Nintendo does their own thing as compared to Sony and Microsoft. So maybe want to think about what you are looking for in a console and seeing if the switch ticks those boxes before spending. I'll start with the actual hardware. The console itself feels well made. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic. The screen is a very nice quality with nice colors, sharpness and brightness. Since the screen is 6 inches it can almost feel like you're playing games on a smaller portable tv than a typical portable console. The joy-cons have a nice feel to them. They don't feel fragile while in hand. I pretty much only use them connected to the switch. I haven't even tried using them in the grip holder. While detached from the screen they are rather small for my hands. The grips help add some size to them but it does not totally mitigate the small feel. I am a six foot tall guy with larger hands though so this is my experience. The dock is well a dock. I have heard that some people have experienced screen scratching with their docks but I have not. I don't use a screen protector on my switch either. I wish there was a power button on the dock itself but its not that big of a deal. There seems to be an issue with some TVs and HDMI switchers where the switch will have some HDMI activity while sleeping that can cause you're tv to switch inputs or give you a message that something has been connected. I use as a receiver so haven't experienced this thankfully. Samsung appears to be releasing a firmware update for some of their TVs which will fix this issue but it may be on the Switch side so don't know if Nintendo will eventually do something about it. I have my dock in a TV stand so personally I wish they have placed a USB port on the front to charge my pro controller but other than that the dock is fine. Software wise the Switch is pretty basic. It doesn't have Apps yet so if that is important to you may want to wait. Nintendo has said they will have stuff like Netflix in the future but who knows when. I buy physical copies of games so can't really speak much about the e-shop, it looks like it gets the job done but I don't use it so don't take my word for it. Downloads seem to be quick. Updates for the console and games are pretty speedy. I am using 5ghz AC wireless though. I have heard people say the 2.4ghz connection can have issues. Battery life is pretty decent when you consider you're getting a home console experience on the go. You can play Zelda for 2 - 2.5 hours on the go with brightness around half. This has been my experience with my usage. Sleep mode seems to be quite good. I have had it off the dock for a couple of days and battery doesn't move so I wouldn't worry about not having it docked and charging all the time. Game wise, it's a console launch so it's not packed but Zelda and Mario Kart are stellar. I have played 1,2 switch and Snipper Clips at a friend's home and they were fun for playing with a couple of people. Launching with a new Zelda, an upgraded Mario Kart port and a new Mario in the first year is good sign to me. Hopefully they keep the releases well paced out. Being able to take the switch out of the dock and play on the go is actually pretty cool. Even if you're home you can pop it out and lay on a couch game. I thought I would pretty much have it docked all the time but find myself playing portably a decent amount. I take it to work and play when I have some down time which is pretty great. Overall I like what I see here from Nintendo. The console doesn't feel cheap. They have a decent lineup in year one, hopefully they can keep this going.
