Just received my 11.4 Sylvania Portable Blu-Ray player and I was in awe at how awesome this DVD player is. I’m not very tech savvy but all I wanted this for is to be able to play my home VHS tapes that I am transferring to DVD’s to preserve our family tapes. As soon as I opened this up I popped in one of my DVD’s and voilà it worked like a charm! This is perfect for me and my 97 year old mom to hold and watch our precious home movies. I also put in an SD card, which took me a little figuring it out because the user manual is pretty useless, but I did figure it out and it works perfectly as did the USB sandisk. The sound is great and my mom who is 97 could see it quite well. I am so impressed with this little machine and I haven’t even begun to explore all the other options yet! Hope it lasts, considering a second purchase just to have. If you have VHS tapes put them on to DVD’s, (and don’t forget to finalize your DVD’s so they can play on all DVD players, )and get you one of these players, so thankful to have this one!

I thought it was a little overpriced considering nobody sells or buys regular DVDs anymore so everyone would obviously be buying Blu-Ray players. But it actually keeps a charge for a long time and it’s not noisy at all in regards to the discs spinning and the buttons being pressed. It performs well in the car and has a large enough screen to watch it at home too. Great purchase and would probably pay $50 more knowing what I now know. It’s a solid, quality product. If you’re on the fence, just get it. It’s worth the money. The only reason I’m giving it 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because it doesn’t come with any type of carrying or storage case.

Easy to use. Light weight. Plays all dvds. My 6 yr. old can operated it and small with big screen. The battery lasted a long time.

Bought this to watch shows on DVD and Blu-Ray. It also plays quite a few video formats from a USB drive which was a really nice bonus. Oddly if you have a disc in the drive when watching something off the USB the disc spins. The drive is pretty loud but it starts up quick and doesn’t have any trouble reading anything I’ve thrown at it. It’s not made by Sylvania and you won’t find support for anything remotely like it on their website. It’s actually made by a company called “Curtis International” but you also won’t find a support page for it in their website. Their support department assured me they will have it listed eventually, and I hope they do because that’s the only way to get title updates. The player has an Ethernet jack dor Internet connectivity but you can’t get updates that way, USB is the only option. Thankfully it’s title keys are recent enough that it can play everything currently being released. The picture quality is not great with a very narrow viewing angle. Also they are extremely careful to avoid stating the actual resolution of the screen. According to the box it’s 720p, but I’m skeptical about that. I have a tablet with roughly the same size screen and it looks a lot sharper than this screen. Navigating the setup menu can be a little clunky-took me a while to figure out how to display 4:3 material in the correct aspect, but thankfully the player will allow you to do it. The speakers are loud and provide good amplification which is good for discs with very low volume. I’ve owned this player for a couple of months. I’ve only used it lightly but it seems well built and for the price it’s a little better than what I was expecting.

This is a good unit for the money. Good sound, plays true and clear picture. Controls easy to find and right size for mobility. Directions are inadequate and classic example of imported product from China where U.S. Distributor does not check Users Manual for accuracy and adequacy. Confusing at times and other times, just plain wrong. Also inadequate Warnings on battery hazards. Most people will figure out proper useage without too much difficulty. I am tremendously satisfied with portable Blue-Ray DVD player. When one is traveling --on vacation or business- the hotel at the destination place may not have WiFi. It doesn´t matter anymore. I am taking 6-10 DVDs with me and this ultra slim player. The image is great, the duration of the battery is long enough for watching up to 3 DVD. I am happy I got it.

It's a pretty solid player. Discs play well, and the screen is nice enough. The fact that it can play USB drives is nice as well. I would say the battery life is pretty good as well. That said, it's not prefect. The biggest issue is the fact that the player sometimes doesn't seem to always respond when the remote is used. There are times when the remote has to be placed at a very specific angle in order for the player to pick up on it. It would also be nice if the low battery indicator lit up sooner. It seems like you only have a couple of minutes to plug the player in once the red light begins to flash. Still, for what it is, it works. It plays Blu-rays, DVDs, and USB drives quite well. The picture looks nice. It would be nice if there were more options on the market, but this does the job.

We bought this for our kids to use in the car on road trips. The dvd/blu-ray combo is a nice feature so you don't have to worry about which format disk you're bringing or renting from rent box on the road. The picture quality and sound is quite good but I'd recommend headphones for the best audio experience. The system is not too big and bulky or heavy so it fits nicely on a lap. Great product!

Does exactly what it's supposed to do with the added bonus of a remote control and great sound quality. Screen swivels for ease of watching and it's very lightweight and portable. We easily found a travel case with enough room for the plugs, headphones, and a few dvds.

For the price of what you get it's a okay system. The sound quality is excellent. The picture quality is okay. If you're on a some what dark scene you will have a hard time seeing the screan, so you spend some time trying to see what's on the screen. I wish there was a setting where you can adjust the lighting. But besides that, it's an okay bluray,dvd and cd combo player for the price. I honestly believe everyone who likes to watch their movies on the go should get one of these. I will most likely will buying another one just as a back up, since I know these won't be in stock forever. So get this when you can, specially when it's cheap.

Product worked great when used on Airplane and has a lot of neat additional features such as a remote control that allows for ease of navigation and screen settings. Also has a decent screen size for individuals or two people sitting together to enjoy without straining. Did not like the cheap outside case of the device and felt it was overpriced just because it can play blu ray.

I was looking for a way to watch movies on Blu or DVD after the rest of the house had gone to bed. While this player doesn't match the quality of my TV and surround system, it's excellent for watching older films with earbuds in. The battery life is OK - good enough for two films under 2 hours each. The controls are simple enough to use in a darkened room. And while I haven't used it yet, the capability of using it as a player with a larger screen is a nice feature to have.

Great features and excellent quality. I have long sought out a device such as this for my travels/work. The features are what I have been looking for in a portable unit. Good to have if you still have both blue ray dvd and dvd which I still have and buy. Able to use HDMI cables allows setup on HD television and able to use USB and SIM card ports. Great value product. I hope to get many years of use out of this item.

If you still have an aging disc collection, just prefer physical over streaming media, or are looking for on-the-go entertainment that does not eat into your mobile data plan, you cannot go wrong with this portable blu-ray player. Great function, quick disc loading, full remote features on the unit itself, great picture quality out of the box that can also be adjusted. My only complaint would be in the build quality. From the look of the pictures online, and the graphics on the box, it is assumed the player's construction would be made of some kind of metal or heavy weight plastic. But, when you first pick this thing up, you'll be surprised how light and hollow feeling it is. That does not impact the performance, but it does make that whole unit appear cheap for the price you pay for it. Other than that, pretty solid. Comes with AC and DC power for home and car. Wish is would have come with a carry bag or car headrest mount

I have been very happy with my new portable DVD/BluRay player. It's lightweight but durable & has a great picture!

Got this I don’t for my mother-in-law for Christmas so far it seems to be a really nice DVD player and easy for her to learn how to use and has nice picture I would recommend this item for pretty much anybody that wants a portable DVD player.
