The T3 Smooth ID 1 is a phenomenal product, however the QR code that is supposed to take you through a step by step set up guided my girlfriend to an error page. I think if you’re going to include an interact set up QR code, then it must be working, no exceptions.
With that out of the way, set up was easy. You long press the power button to turn on the hair straightener (sounds like a lightsaber), double click the power button to unlock the menu, select your hair texture, length, and color treatment then double tap the power button to lock in the settings. My girlfriend was concerned with how hot the flat iron was but ultimately though it did a good job for the following reasons:
-While initially she thought the flat iron was very hot she thought it was just right for her fine hair.
-Straightening and curling her hair was able to be done in one pass which is difficult since most flat irons lose heat when reaching the last 1/3 of hair.
-the refresh mode was good for touch ups on subsequent days and did not lead to any damaged hair.
At the end of the day, my girlfriend loved the aesthetics of the flat iron, is able to curl or straighten her hair in a single pass and did not experience any frizz when doing so. The features of the T3 Smooth ID are a definite time saver since it is high quality and is capable of producing the desired results in a single pass. This is an investment that will save time in the long run and keep you happy for a long time.

What a nice product! Works really well.
Contents in box are as expected - product and instructions.
Build quality is nice, smooth edges, rolling curves and nice texture for grip. Cord is more than long enough and has plenty of length if your outlet is a little bit away.
Did not read the instruction and struggled with the touch controls at first. I did figure it out and then read the manual! LOL
Overall the controls work well and been easy to setup since. I really likes the heat adjustments for my hair depending on the style she wants and current hair conditions such as out of the shower or just a quick refresh.
The unit heats up rather quickly and she is styling in just a few minutes. The heating elements heat up evenly and you don't have to center your hair in the middle. The unit has 9 heat settings to get the right one for the desired look you want. The elements are coated with a "CERAGLOSS". Hair glides over smoothly and doesn't get pulled.
Was a little concerned with touch controls. With wet hands from hair and the heat elements. But they have worked flawlessly and I've had no issues at all!
Great product

This straightener is so much more advanced than my old one. At first it was a little confusing to turn on and change the settings on it but the instruction book covers how to change things pretty well. I'm not crazy about the touch-style way you have to select settings and the temperature at but I'll hopefully get used to it. I do really like that there are setting options for your hair length, texture and if it's color treated or not. Based off of that info it heats up to the perfect temperature that won't damage your hair. You can save your settings for next time too which is nice. It heats up pretty fast and can get very hot.
I have color treated hair that's a little shorter than shoulder length and it's a little bit thinner and frizzier. So far I think this makes my hair a little more frizz-free and I don't know any damage. I find it really easy to straighten or curl my hair or do some waves. I can even style my bangs pretty easily.
Overall this seems like a really solid and innovative flat iron!

The T3 Smooth ID is slick looking straightener packed with quality of life features to help you spend less time doing your hair but also minimized damage too. It’s works well with all type of hairs. There is a learning curve to utilizing all those great features, but if you take the time to learned them the results might be worth it.
I highly suggest you take the time to read the quick start menu, if you don’t you might end up being overwhelmed. The set up is actually quick and easy, you start of by setting up your type of hair from Fine, Medium, Coarse. If you’re not sure about your hair type go with the medium setting. The next option is the hair length which goes from short, medium to long. The last option is for color treated hair. After you set your settings you double tap the power button to locked it in place follow by a chime to alert you that is ready to be use. If you prefer to manually adjust the heat settings this can quickly be accomplished by unlocking the unit and tapping the power button one time to go from Head ID to manual mode. In manual mode you have 9 levels of heat adjustment. As you can see it’s not your typical hair straightener. The first time I did my hair it did take longer since I was learning all the new features. Now my hair did come out looking nice with a lot less frizz. I also noticed how quickly it heated up which is excellent for a quick touch up when you’re on the go.
Overall the T3 Smooth ID is nice straightener that can be worthwhile if you take the time to learned all the new features. All the extra features might seem overwhelming at first but once you read the quick start guide you’ll see how there’s not much to it. It’s pricey but well worth it for helping me keep my hair looking and staying healthy.

For what it’s intended to do, the flat iron is great. The handle action is smooth and soft. The plates close evenly, which is a probably I’ve seen with other, cheaper, options. I did notice there’s a small gap in the middle, but I assume this is intentional to all the hair to stay centered in the plates. This iron also gets hot enough to straighten those pesky gray hairs. Something I can’t say for some of the other irons I’ve tried. Operationally, the iron is more complex than it needs to be. Hair length. Color treatment. Hair type. Settings for each of those. To be honest, I’m still not sure I understand why hair length matters. I went straight to manual as I’ve learned that only the higher heats really straighten my hair. The noises are cute, but unnecessary. I do wish the buttons were tactile. The cord is also too long. I know that’s probably a rare complaint with devices like this. However, I’ve found that the cord tends to get hung up on the lower cabinet door handles. I think it would be nice if the handle had a mechanism to keep them locked closed, for storage and travel. Speaking of travel, at this price point it’d also be nice if this came with a heat resistant pouch.

FYI, I am writing the review for my wife - who does not like writing reviews but loved this flat iron..
Straight out of the box: the flat iron looked great and gave the impression of being very sleek and luxurious. Directions include photos and icons so the directions are easy to follow and understand and the QR code on the booklet launched an interactive start-up process. Super easy. The manual also had a section on styling tips and tricks on using it to make waves and curls.
The very first use was better than expected. She has curly thick hair and by making adjustments and following directions, she said it made her hair smooth and soft. She actually referred to it as a "game-changer" for her.
A beep sound and solid lights made it easy to know when the flat iron was ready to use. She said that she particularly appreciated the beep sound so that she could apply makeup while she was waiting for it to heat up without having to keep checking lights to see if the iron was ready.
The touch interface made it easy to adjust the amount of heat being applied to account for hair texture, length, etc. My wife really liked this feature as she had a 'bad experience' before with an iron overheating and damaging her hair.
The flat iron also has a “Refresh Mode” for later in the day (less heat exposure) and a “Manual Mode” if she wants to go ‘old school’ and select a heat setting. All in all this was a hit.

Great iron with custom heat settings

The iron came fully assembled with a booklet explaining the settings. The settings are not the typical high/medium/low heat, or selected degree temperature. The temperature is based on your hair type, texture (fine/medium/thick), length (short/medium/long), and color-dyed hair. Once you input your hair type, the setting adjusts to the optimal temperature for your hair. The settings stay locked in for each use, you do not have to enter your hair type at each use, and it is easy to update if needed. The selected temperature has worked well for my hair type (medium/long), it makes my hair straight and shiny with only 1-2 passes, without overheating. I have also used this to create curls/waves. The iron is quick to heat and chimes when fully heated. The only thing I don't like is that the heating plates don't extend the full length of the iron - they stop maybe a 0.5-1 inch before the end of the iron, which can make it harder to style the roots. Overall, a great iron I will continue to use.

I am absolutely in love with this straightener! I have tried so many different options and it always takes me time to get used to something new. This one feels like I’ve been using it my whole life and like it was made for my hair. So simple and easy to set up out of the box, I was able to start using it in less than 5 minutes. I used the features to customize my hair settings (which was also super easy) and I styled my hair as usual. However, I felt that the heat setting was too hot for my hair type - I have very heavy blonde highlights and don’t use any iron over 300 degrees in order to prevent any heat damage, so the customized setting was too much. The second day I changed it to manual settings and put it to the third heat level and that is absolutely perfect. My hair is shiny and doesn’t feel dry or damaged in the slightest. I use the straightener to curl my hair and the curls last the entire day with one pass through. My hair is naturally curly at the roots and very frizzy because I don’t blow dry it so this iron smoothes out my roots, tames my frizz AND curls my ends all in one use. It heats up fast and cold down even quicker when it’s shut off. It barely gets warm to the touch on the outside so it’s easy to use if you’re in a hurry. I am so so pleased with this straightener and recommend it over any other brand out there.

Time Saver & Aesthetically Pleasing

Packaging and presentation overall is minimalist. It has easy to follow instructions for use that are visible as soon as you open the flat iron. The cord length is a good enough and the plus side of the cord is the connection between the end and the iron rotates around as you use it. Most of my experiences with other irons have fixed power cords that are a pain to adjust as you use it.
Having the touch sensitive buttons is a pretty unique feature. Once you start to select the features, you have to play around with it to properly select your setting. It took a few tries to "lock" the setting that I wanted. This is why I rated 4/5, the method of selecting with these touch sensitive buttons just takes some getting used to. Instead of having physical buttons that are sacrificed to make this iron as stylish as it does. This is one of those style over function devices so just be prepared to learn as you go. As a styling product the iron heats up really quick. I consider this saves a lot of time since you can use it as a flat or curling iron.
Bonus feature with this iron - It heats up to the type of hair that you have. You can select whether you have colored treated, thick, thin, textured, or straight haired.

Good heavy iron

My wife says that it is heavier than her previous flat iron. Doing a quick test myself there is a noticeable difference between the weights of the irons. I tried hold then in the center, while powered off, and this one is heavier.
As for heating up, she said this iron also does not heat up to as hot of a temperature. No I did not hold them in my hand to see which burned more.
She also sys it takes longer for her to use this, she has to do more passes to get the same results.
Build quality it is definitely a well built iron, I will guaranty this will last longer than her other iron. It feels more premium. I have a feeling it is just a matter of time before she gets this iron worn in to have a similar performance to her other iron.
You may be asking why we have two, well...when you forget to pack one...
Now a quick clarification on why the weight is very important to my wife. She has very thick hair and a pair of bad shoulders. When we search for hair driers or other hair care hardware the first thing she tests is how easy it is to hold up for an extended period.
She likes this iron enough and we will obviously keep it as a travel iron or spare iron for when the favored inevitably dies. It is very well built and you would not make a mistake buying this iron. But according to my wife it is not the best iron she has used but it is very close to it.
