Works well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently dropped cable. This Tablo works pretty well. Occasionally it fails to record a program for an unknown reason. Fast forward is not as user friendly as my previous cable DVR. I need to reload the software each day for it to work and load the channel guide. Overall I am pleased with it.

Nice DVR for cordcutting.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works very well about 98% of the time. It will occasionally lock up and require the appto restart. Quality is good and fast forward worse well.

Works quite well, much better than Tivo OTA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with Tablo. I eliminated signal issues from old TV wiring in the house via the app. I have a good antenna on the roof (most reception issues have nothing to do with Tablo, but with aiming and signal strenght) and have the Tablo hooked up to the router directly (wifi issues can affect performance), I use the apps for Roku, FireTv and my iphone (the Samsung Tizen does not work well). I tried adding an external drive and works well (no it won't be on a format your PC will recognize) and provides enormous storage. Is it perfect? No, the channel guide sometimes scans incomplete but shows still get recorded. Because you are on an app, you can not simply "channel surf" constantly switching channels, it takes a moment to connect and you have to go through the guide interface. I have tried tech support 3x and was able to speak to someone without much of a wait.

Tablo DVR works great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this is working well. Really easy to setup. Use it with a Roku on all of my TV's. The guide and menu is easy to use and recording is a breeze. Hooked up a external SSD to record tons of shows. Fast forwarding through the commercials is super easy and quick. Disconnected the cable and saving over a $100.00 a month.

Great features but lackluster performance.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The features/capabilities of this tuner are excellent. I only wish with they all worked well all of the time. I am hoping that future OTA upgrades will enhance its ability to deliver on performance and antenna reception. It is sometimes slow, and sometimes needs to be rebooted. I'm still glad I bought this Tablo but am hoping they will continue to improve its performance.

Bugs not out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bugs in Tablo still showing it's ugly face! Been using since receiving roughly a month. After a program recorded and after viewing recording, scrolling down to delete recording, it won't delete! Got to get out of Tablo program (restart) Tablo, go back to recording and it will delete then, Thought this new version would be better than older versions, guess not?

Love tv software needs improving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup not as easy as I hoped, but I won. Watching live tv it quirky; Tablo will spontaneously cut out unless I'm recording the show I'm watching. Tablo repeatedly informed me that using closed captions can cause errors...why not fix the issue rather than issue the working? All that said, it records and plays back exactly as expected, so kudos to that.

Tablo 4th Gen DVR review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did record shows and tune in OTA channels well but the experience with streaming to the TV left much to be desired. Our main problem was consistent connectivity with the streaming devices on our TVs. We used Google TV based devices and the app would lose connection with the DVR about 25% of the time. We kept getting an error to restart the DVR. We have enjoyed TiVo DVRs for years and they provide a terrific “DVR first” experience. It’s too bad they seem to be getting out of the business.

It works but has some quirks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this 4th Gen 4-Tuner Tablo for a few months and am in pressed with how it works but it has a few quirks. I have it set up on 3 TV's. My older Hisense ROKU tv won't run the app so I can't use it on that TV. Another TV uses a 4K firestick but it hangs when loading. Pressing the back button on the stick remote will finally get it to load the app. It runs much better on the new FireTV (Insignia) I just bought. It seems to work better on newer streaming devices. I have mine connected to my router via ethernet. If is often laggy and hangs sometimes when navigation channels. I wish it had a previous channel button to jump back to other channels. Overall I think its a good solution to watching local channels since it provides a guide and DVR.

As advertised but ............
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As advertised, no problems, so far, no app for Samsung TV, had to go thru Roku, if you are recording you can watch something else you have recorded earlier but you are not able to fast forward if you are recording a program til all recording is finished, crazy, for the money on sale while worth it

Be careful on older hardware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great but only on newer tv tablet or phone. Will only work fully on my android phone, on my tab3 tablet only sound, on older tv not at all

Posted .You're older TV may work with a compatible streaming device, which can then connect to your Tablo. Note though, there is a known issue with Roku devices with version 14 of their software. We're working on a resolution for such.
Hope this helps.

Tablo first results
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablo was easy to set up. All of my TV's needed a streaming service. I chose Roku sticks. The result was excellent. DVR worked as advertised for 1 hour programs. A single 4-hour movie recorded, but the sound track was off by 30 seconds. This was just once.

Made cutting the cord easy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far very impressed. I added a 4T HHD and doing a lot of recording. So much available to record and watch. With just a small outdoor antenna I'm picking up over 150 channels.

Very buggy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had great hopes. They were not realized. This is one of the buggiest devices I have ever used. It freezes, reboots itself, it takes forever to load, and the Tablo icon just spins. The last firmware update was an improvement, but not much. I have never had a recording playback successfully. I purchased mine at Beat Buy. I am going to try to return it.

I LOVE THIS!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for several days now and I am thrilled with it. And I'm certain I haven't even utilized all that it can do. I was given a VseeBox for Christmas which prompted me to cut the cord and get rid of my $280 a month cable bill. I already had an antenna on my roof so this box was a no-brainer. Tablo filled the gap created by turning in my Xfinity boxes. I could get local news and late night comedy talk shows with the antenna but I had to watch them when they were on, not when it was convenient for me. Now everything gets recorded and I watch it when I feel like it. And on whatever TV I feel like. Tablo records the over-the-air shows and sends them via Bluetooth to my Smart TVs. I was a little concerned about the negative reviews but I had very little trouble setting this up and 5 days in it is working great. I have two weeks from my purchase date to return it and I don't see that happening

Great system with small delays.

Not perfect but I like it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a step up from the channel Master which is no longer being supported. It's a step back from there earlier model in that you cannot access it when you travel. You can only access it when you're on the same household Network that it's logged into. Otherwise seems to work well nice device. Enjoy the fact that I can record more than two programs at a time. Not that I ever need to but sometimes that program runs over and cuts into the next show you were trying to record and with the channel Master and only two channels that became an impediment. The tableau 4th generation with four channels what's a good investment overall

Older generation worked better.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as good as the older version. Reason is many of the apps for smart tv's not working or not available. Seemed to be a rush to market before the apps were developed. Had to purchase a firestick to get it to work on my smart LG TV.

Walking and chewing gum at the same time. ???
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TABLO at its basic level is a TV repeater. It takes in a TV signal and rebroadcasts it throughout the house (via WIFI). Receive - Transmit. Walking and chewing gum at the same time. Meh. I had a Legacy Quad TABLO for 4 years and it worked as advertised until about November of 2023. It started dropping the signal and buffering. Perhaps age had degraded its components. I bought the Next Generation Quad in January 2024 to replace it and I’m having the same problem. Time to diagnose: When the TV antenna is connected directly to the TV. No dropped signal. (Antenna alignment with TVFool.com) Ziply Fiber WIFI bandwidth. 100 up. 100 down. (Speed tested consistently at 80/80.) ROKU batteries are fresh. I have no problems streaming HULU, SLING, NETFLIX, MAX or Disney. The TABLO is direct wired via ethernet to WIFI. When recording a program and playing it back later the TABLO works fine. But if I try to watch the same program LIVE it will drop the signal… UNLESS I start a LIVE feed and pause it for a couple of minutes before resuming playback. Then the TABLO functions as it should. The problem appears to be with simultaneously receiving and transmitting the live signal. Walking and chewing gum at the same time. The (My) TABLO cannot. I don’t know if this is a hardware or software problem. With the problem starting on my Legacy TABLO I wonder if it’s a Legacy/New Generation design transition flaw. Other issues include problems navigating the LIVE guide and not being able to switch between LIVE programs as I was able to with the Legacy Quad. (Yes, I’ve used the reset button.) When it’s working properly, the TABLO is a great product for “cord cutters” like me. I will continue to use my TABLO for a while longer to see if there is improvement before I give up and return it as unsatisfactory.
