It is nice to be able to record TV without having to pay a subscription. 5 stars because it works. The APP can use some work, but it provides a decent set of features. Unfortunately, you can't stream to any device outside of your home and there is a slight delay when changing channels due to it being web based. Even with those drawbacks, it is worth the money.

Great price for a 4 tuner. Easy to setup through Roku stick. Can record and watch previous recorded shows at same time. TV guide easy to use. Better than my previous Channel Master OTA DVR

Well, where to start? Our TIVO finally died last April. We are not happy about this! We needed something to record the OTA TV we watch. We live right between Orlando and Tampa, so we get over 120 stations. Yes, many duplicate stations but the networks and a few of the locals show different football games. A DVR is a must! The problem is TABLO is not a TIVO! It is a piece of "JUNK"! We had it hooked up a little over two months. It worked kind of well. A few restarts every week or so would get it back to where it was supposed to be. Then three days ago it just died. It is one big, white, hockey puck! Do not bother with Cust. Service, they do not even write you back. We knew we were taking a chance when we bought the TABLO. The reviews are not the greatest. They do not make the TIVO anymore and we really miss it! I would not recommend this device and that is that!

First let me say I would buy this again. I 100% support their direction of providing the listings for free as well as the built in storage for recording programs. It has everything you need out of the box to work as intended. Their software needs some work but the issues aren’t serious and Tablo should be able to correct the things that need fixing. I have the app running on ROKU, Google TV and Nvidia Shield. The software issues are almost always when you first turn on the TV. It seems to have trouble connecting to the tuner but once connected it works well. Bottom line … the software needs some “polish” but I’m happy with the product and would recommend!

Bought this to replace Directv with OTA and a streaming service or two. Added a 2tb hard drive and Mohu antenna, hard wired the Tablo to router (fiber internet). Followed instructions to load updates, format drive and scan for channels. Relatively easy setup, then added Tablo TV app to our Roku Express 4k+ and setup shows to record, mostly for my wife who will be main user on TV in living room. We will need to add another Roku for second TV as both our TV's are Samsung and Tablo has no app for them or PC's yet for 4th gen Tablo's. The only reason for only 4 stars is lack of apps mentioned and other devices not mentioned.

I bought this to replace an old Tivo DVR. Setup was fairly easy. With the exception of a few glitches where the device failed to record a show I'd scheduled, it works well. Pros: No subscription, easy setup, enough capacity for my needs, compatible with many smart TVs Cons: App interface is cluttered and requires a lot of maneuvering with the remote to get to where you want to be. The list of recorded episodes often shows the oldest first, when the most recent makes more sense. Response time in the menus can be slow. Overall, a good value and functionality is pretty good.

I was very excited when ordered this device, thinking and planning the replacement of my 4-Tuner 1TB Fire TV Recast that works but sometimes disappears from my LAN and also only works with Fire TV streaming devices. Received the Tablo today and I setup took about 30 minutes for installation, firmware update and channel scan, plus install of the App in all my Android TV devices and a couple of Fire TV Cube. Everything is connected by Ethernet(Wired), no Wi-Fi. The first thing I noticed is there's no channel surfing via the remote, you have to scroll using the TV Guide or press down until it shows a list of channels, the UI is not very intuitive. Main issue, is not very fast when changing OTA channels, takes a few seconds or simply gives you an error or dark screen. Gets very hot, even without usage. I'm returning it, is not worth the hassle for an unfinished product.

Make sure you have a newer router or you will be disappointed. Since Amazon pulled the plug on Recast, i was looking for a comprable replacement. TeVo has monthly fees and other OTA DVRs are too expensive. Tablo is easy to set up and with mt outdoor antenna i am pulling in over 60 stations. With the Tablo app loaded on my Fire TV Stick, I can use the remote. There also a lot of streaming shows through Tablo so there is always something to watch. I cant recommend this enough to save money & it is a must have for cord cutters!

Cutting the cord with this made the transition easy. I live near Atlanta and have plenty of OTA channels available. The free ones available from Tablo are a great perk! With the four tuner version I am able to record 4 different OTA shows plus 4 of the streaming channels at the same time. I added an external 2 tarabyte HD that is probably 7 years old and it works great. After using it for about a month there are a couple of things that should be added to the user experience but they are not anything that make me regret this solution. I would buy it again without hesitation. Using it with T-Mobile home internet with no complaints

Tablo Product Review Outstanding Performance and Convenience! I’ve been using the Tablo for some time now, and I must say it has completely exceeded my expectations in both quality and convenience. From setup to everyday use, the experience has been smooth, intuitive, and truly user-friendly. The Tablo makes it effortless to access and record live TV without the hassle of monthly fees or complicated equipment. The picture quality is crystal clear, and the ability to pause, rewind, and record shows brings an on-demand experience to free over-the-air channels. I also love how easy it is to stream my favorite programs to multiple devices — whether on my TV, phone, or tablet — all with seamless connectivity and reliability. The Tablo app interface is clean and well-designed, making navigation simple and enjoyable. Recording and playback options are highly customizable, and the performance has been rock solid with zero buffering or signal drops. In an age where streaming costs continue to rise, Tablo is a refreshing and smart solution — offering high-quality entertainment with incredible flexibility at an unbeatable value. It’s the perfect blend of innovation, practicality, and performance. I highly recommend Tablo to anyone looking for a dependable, modern, and cost-effective way to enjoy live TV and DVR functionality. It’s one of the best tech investments I’ve made — five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good idea, performance is not so good as it sometimes takes a while downloading channel updates or starting up, it is good enough if you want to drop cable subscription. Looking forward for more robust hardware version, in the meantime this is not bad at all, I enjoy the fact I get the mainstream channels like abc, fox, nbc, cnn and also bloomberg plus channels in spanish as well like Telemundo, Univision and some mor

I am pleased with the unit, and would buy it again. Some software issues. If you wait until a program has completely recorded, the rewind and ffwd work great. Not as easy to fast forward or rewind if program is recording. My other DVD that was seamless. Sometimes I go to Live TV and it finds no channels, Close and reopen and it works.

Out of the box, easy, simple setup, app has more functionality for setting up than doing on screen. Loaded app on newer(ish) f-stick and a brand new roku, f-stick had terrible buffering of live tv, roku had fast response and worked as expected. Bought 2 more roku and recycled the f-stick, all working flawlessly for 4-5 days until Tablo app would not stay loaded, meaning it would launch, load up home screen then revert back to roku homescreen (on all 3 roku), followed all the troubleshooting steps on Tablo site to get it back up, bringing down network seemed to correct issue in first instance, but same issue happened twice more, decided to just reboot tablo device instead to get service back up and it worked, so i suspect my network is not the issue. Not a great experience after only having for 2 weeks and have had to reboot 3 times, will see maybe its something their working to resolve. Guide is great, responds fast, easy to navigate and set up, but I like using app to search and set up recordings better, you'll see why if you use this feature. Tablo is hardwired to the network switch as to eliminate common wifi issues. No other issues than the reboot, replaced a failing old CM-7600 which was King for many years.

I’m not overly impressed with this unit, it was rushed onto the market which had no need. It doesn’t work for AppleTv unless your a beta tester so that alone says this was rushed out. If I’d known this I wouldn’t have bought it as my primary TV is AppleTv 4k. Pros has 4 Chanel DVR/has own hard drive/allows external hard drive Cons NOT READY/no AppleTv app/has built in antenna amplifier (WHICH THEY DON’T MENTION!) where this MAY be helpful mostly does more harm/to expensive for a product being tossed to market to get bugs worked out I can’t stress this enough Tablo you need to inform your product has a signal amplifier, my antenna set up pulls in 91 channels because my antenna set up has been properly engineered. Adding this dropped my scanned channels to 18. Took me HOURS to find out you foolishly put a signal amplifier in this and its default setting is ON. No warning prompts or anything. This needs to be corrected. If not using AppleTv this may work well but at this time I can’t recommend buying this because it doesn’t work for EVERYONE only those who don’t use AppleTv.

We bought this unit to replace one that quit working after a year because we were famimiar with how it works and appreciated our abikity to watch and record up to four channels at a time. There are some frustrations -seems to lose connection on occassion when we stop watching and turn it on later, but a simple reset (unplug and pause about 10-15 sec) and plug in again) and it works fine again. Reviews of other options didn't convince us to switch to a different brand.

I upgraded to the 4-tuner from the 2-turner so that I would no longer have conflicts on the days when there are more than two shows that I want to record. The Tablos are great, but I did have to get a surge protector to plug this one into as my previous on quit working right after multiple surges. The best part of recording my shows this way as opposed to streaming them is that I can fast forward thru the commercials and with the Tablo it will show you when you are fast forwarding.

As others have said, it can be a little sluggish at times and occasionally you have to exit and restart it. For the most part it work excellent. Got it for my parents and it gives them the same channels and recording options they were using through cable.
