Out of Sync problems
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previous Legacy quad owner. This unit is faster, guide is better. Layout is a little difficult to get used to especially for recordings. When it works, it works pretty darn good. But it doesn't keep working. When recording or watching ABC the Voice and Video are totally out of sync. This can be fixed very temporarily by rebooting. For me this is broadcast on 10.1, the other channels broadcast from same transmitter ie: 10.2, 10.3 etc work just fine. This signals to me that there is a Firmware programming error that others have reported. When playing back from a recording, not only will it be out of sync, but the screen will freeze after a few minutes, making it totally useless. Unit also gets very warm to the touch. Price is too high for the usable functionality. (These reception issues do not present themselves on any other device)

Posted .Hi John,
Sorry you're having a tough time with audio/visual sync on your Tablo. In general, this is caused by errors in the broadcast stream from your antenna.
Improving your overall antenna position or switching to a slightly more powerful antenna is the best way to avoid these issues.

Too many times.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed latest update, however: Occasionally resets itself sometimes when trying to play a recorded movie. if you make selections too fast it resets itself. Some recorded programs get truncated at the end. Too frequently the live channel names disappear even though the channel content still shows. and it takes rescanning channels to make them show up again.

Not ready for a Samsung tv
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was anxiously waiting for my Samsung TV to be added to the compatibility list. As soon as i saw it was I ordered the 4th generation 4 tuner unit from Best Buy. There are so many bugs in the software. I can’t use the rewind and fast forward options until they fix the bugs. It also freezes occasionally, I have a one second skip in the voice while watching live tv and I cannot setup any shows on the Fox network because if I swarch doe shows on Fox, the network doesn’t show up on the list but the Fox channels do show up om the guide. I will return it if the bugs aren’t fixed by my acceptable return date

Posted .Hi Scott - we have recently released updates for the Tablo Samsung App (4th Gen) that addresses and improves some of the known issues. The app should automatically update in the coming days unless you have disabled auto-updates on your tv. For more details, check out the thread about the Tablo Samsung App update on our community forum.

DVR for over the air live tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this DVR. Just download the Tablo app to your Roku or fire tv and connect your antenna to the Tablo and you can stream, record, pause and play live tv. The only downside is that when watching live tv through Tablo the actors mouth movements when talking don’t match up with the dialogue (sound). I solved buffering issue that you may have read about by streaming directly to my fire stick and not to my smart tv. Overall I recommend this Dvr.

Good but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not what I expected, from the vague description I thought that it would broadcast the HDTV signal to any smart tv that add the Tablo app loaded on it as long as it was connected to Wi-Fi, but it failed to mention that internet service was needed as well; we have a Wi-Fi router and thought that when the internet goes out we could still watch local tv using the 4 tuner Tablo but that is not the case. Do like that you can record with it.

great not having to pay for streaming tv or cable
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a little glitchy but over all it’s great not having to pay for streaming tv or cable. I just needed to get local news station and wanted to be able to watch football games. This device helped. Once connected to the antenna and my network. I just installed the app on all my devices.

Works well, unnecessary features
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well, I do find the online content annoying. It’s a DVR and Tablo should stick to that or at least add an option to turn online content off. Not had the opportunity to test it without internet, i.e. just home wifi. If that doesn’t work I’d give a 3 star rating.

Fun and rewarding hobby
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a little glitchy but I love it. It's another fun hobby. Upgrading the antenna, finding a router it likes, tweaking the system. Searching for new shoes to watch, learning how to use it better. It's a lot of fun and it replaced $95 a month worth of other stuff.

Up in the air
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm still up in the air about this. Haven't used it enough to decide if I like it or not. Not sure if it's my TV or the Tablo, but sometimes it just cranks in circles while watching local live TV. Sometimes it says it lost connection to the internet. Like I said, not sure if it is me or it.

Watching OTA channels using WIFI
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We dropped cable couple months ago and we received the Tablo in time to watch the ball drop on New Years Eve and the parade New Years Day on regular channels. So far no issues with our Firestick but when try and watch on our Roku it booted out after 5 minutes. I hear they are working on fixing the problem between the two hopefully that will be soon. Right now have it hooked up to a cheap antenna and we are getting more channels than just antenna hooked up directly to tv that’s definitely a plus. We haven’t tried recording yet so can’t comment on that. We have one tv that we tried to hook an antenna up directly to but couldn’t get it to acknowledge it. We resolved that with using Tablo app on our Firestick or Roku to watch OTA channels. Nothing needs to be connected directly to tv. Tablo works using WIFI or can also hook up an Ethernet cable directly to Tablo. Once they resolve that Roku issue should be a great product.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works like a charm, easy to set up, crystal clear recordings. Works pretty well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works pretty well, although sometimes it does buffer when watching live tv. Rewinding a few seconds seems to help with this. It's very easy to set up and I love that there are no monthly fees.

The Best Electronic I Own
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had YouTubeTV but the price went up so I went shopping and found Tablo 4th Generation. It is the best thing I own now. Records my shows and then I can save or delete them. I am so glad I found this. It took a little tweaking to get everything just right but now WOW.

Cost saving device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because we are cancelling YouTube tv. Will be saving over $600.00 a year. Me and my wife watch shows on local channels and the dvr on Tablo fits the bill. My wife will be subscribing to frndly tv for her hallmark channels in which she is getting a few more hallmark like channels that she likes. I will subscribe to espn+ for mainly pga tour. I have t mobile home internet ( trash can model). Finally able to get ala carte channels that I watch and not all the other channels that I did not watch on YouTube tv. Yes there is times that live tv freezes, it only happens once in awhile, probably from internet speed. But it does not bother us in the savings we are getting. I was paying 72.99/ month for YouTube tv and it’s going up to $82.99. Thats $876.00/yr. Plus 5$50.00 for internet. Total $926.00yr. Local channels with dvr is $0.00 Frndly tv7.99- month total $96.00/yr ESPN+ $11.99/month total 143.88/ yr Internet $50.00 Total cost $289.88/yr Total savings= $636.12 Totally worth it. Get and save a ton of money

Works well.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was fairly easy to setup and works well with the antenna. It would be nice to be able to delete the recordings easier. I really haven't had any problems with it.

All you need to cut the cord and not mis your show
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The one thing we needed to cut the cord. Having the option to record to 4 different channels is a game changer. The system works fine. Setup is easy. You only need to make sure your smart tv has the 4th gen tablo app or use a firestick roku or google tv to get the tablo app. Not all smart tvs have the app available. We use this with roku and have sling for the cable channels we watch and record on sling so technically we have 6 tuners, 4 tablo 2 sling. We dont mis cable at all and we think ourtv picture is sharper clearer and better than cable.

Bad Tablo upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this new version to replace a failing older unit. Setup was a task. Software is less then desirable for a new and improved system. System reboots often. tried using wired and Wi-Fi and it doesn't seem to help. would recommend looking to other Over the air recorders.

No monthy subscription
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I get about 140 channels and a free guide. The UI is very easy to navigate. I added an external USB HD which gives me tons of recording space. I’m using the beta AppleTV app that will be released soon. Would recommend.
