Most people already know about Vesperia, as it is highly regarded as the best in the series. I will start off by saying this is the same version that was featured on the PS3 in 2009, only this time around it is fully translated, without the need of a the "Fan Translation Patch" that only a people with a hack PS3 and Vesperia eboot could use. Vesperia still has a remarkable charm and has aged extraordinarily well, and also happens to be my favorite in the series. The world map, great combat, soundtrack, art direction, bosses, robust content, the cast, just everything, makes for a well rounded experience. If you have never played Vesperia, but have played some of the newer Tales games, I will say that while the combat does not feel to dated, some of the newer Tales games have perfected the combat, so it may feel a little stiff to some. No matter how much we try to give Vesperia justice and talk about the great things, we are talking about a game that is 10 years old. However, even with that being said, I think that the combat only falls behind Xilla 2 and Hearts R, mostly do the the aerial combat not being as versatile. With all that aside, it still stands the test of time. I will try to list all the added content not found in the 360 version. As someone who has played the PS3 and 360 version, I will say that there is a "profound" difference, and that the upgrade is more than worth it. Also lets not forget to mention that for the first time ever, dual audio has been added! -Features full voice acting which is almost double the size of the original script. -Features various new characters such as Flynn and Patty. -New mini-games such as a racing mini-game for Repede. -New subplots, skits and main game quests as well as side quests. -New songs added to the games soundtrack. -Remodeled towns and new towns and dungeons. -New bosses such as the Sword Dancer from previous Tales games and others. -Players are able to replay boss fights at Nam Cobanda Isle. -Higher Overlimit levels up to 8. -More Mystic Artes including a Dual Mystic Arte with Yuri and Flynn. -New artes, skills and equipment for characters. -The "Artes Ball" which allows an additional 8 Artes shorcuts to be assigned. -Features a wide variety of new character costumes. -Includes a scene-skip feature and ability to pause anime cutscenes. -Added Team Arena in the Coliseum which also has new battles and modes. -Can now run around the world as Repede. -Improved AI. -New Attachments. -New grade shop options to retain Fell Arm Kills. -More trophies.

I had played other games in the Tales series but not the original Vesperia. What can I say, it's old-fashioned JRPG gameplay but with the Tales series' trademark real-time action combat. There are 9 playable characters, each with their own completely unique movesets you can experiment with to find your favorite. Run around and attack enemies any way you want, and up to 4 players can work together! I haven't played Vesperia with friends but I have played some earlier titles, and it adds a lot to the combat. The story is bog-standard for games of this genre, a boy and a princess out to save the world and everyone grows up along the way. To be fair I haven' t finished it yet, but the plot has already taken a couple of twists I didn't see coming. The game's cel-shaded art style has barely aged in the 10 years since the original came out, and on my regular PS4, it runs almost constantly at a lovely 60fps. Only a couple of very crowded city scenes have made the framerate dip at all. Overally I'm really pleased with the game and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun RPG that's not too demanding, especially if you have friends to enjoy it with.

One of the best JRPG's for Xbox 360 Returns

Tales of Vesperia is one of the best JRPG's released for the Xbox 360 and one of the best entries in the Tales series. It was criminal that it was locked to one system, but now it has gotten a remaster for all of the modern consoles that includes additional content that was originally only found in the Japanese PS3 version (extra characters, etc). My main criticism is that they didn't bring back Troy Baker to voice Yuri's new lines, instead bringing in another guy, so Yuri's dialogue throughout the game sounds disjointed (they kept the old lines and recorded new ones with a different actor, it sounds awful and lazy). Other than that, I highly recommend picking this up if you like RPG's with action combat and a heavy dose of (well executed) anime tropes. Oh, and you can fight battles with 4-player co-op, but since only player 1 drives, it might be a little boring for everyone outside of combat.

It's hard to think that it's been 10 years. 10 years since the world of video games actually produced works of art like this one. You simply don't see video games made like this anymore, especially JRPGs in any way or shape or form. Vesperia specifically was, sadly, the last "true epic" game in the Tales series. With this remaster, you're getting the original gem of a game in glorious HD, all the DLC, and a part of gaming history. One of the top 50 (20? 10?) JRPGs of all time for less than the price of lesser modern titles. You literally cannot go wrong here. You won't regret it no matter how many times you played the original. And if you never got the chance the first time around? Buy. Now. And don't look back.

So this gem came out in the 360 days and the 360 version looked and played just fine. Later on an enhanced ps3 version came out in Japan only. Now we have the ps3 version converted for all major platforms and it is glorious. All the added dlc is free and added to this version. The frame rate is a bit better and the ps4 version runs at full 1080p 60 in and out of battle (as does the game on the xbox one x). The game is over 10 years old but the story and gameplay still hold up today. It also allows for very fun single screen (sofa) co op. You also finally get both Japanese and English voice tracks. If you like jprgs you need to give it a try.

Tales of Vesperia: DE Once exclusive to only the Xbox 360 console in the U.S. upon its original release many years ago. This is the PS3 version that was released in Japan that included extra content such as a new character and other content. Finally Namco decided to port over this version to the U.S. on the PS4 with all the DLC and the graphics touched up for modern consoles. This game will take you a very long time to play through easily reaching into the 40 hour mark but if you intend on 100% the game expect to put in 150 hours into it. Overall it’s a wonderful game that is being given new life on the the PS4

One of the, If not THE, best Tales games In a crisp 1080p 60fps! In addition to being a great game all around this remaster of Tales of Vesperia Is based on the Japanese-exclusive PS3 version which adds so much content that It makes the original Xbox 360 version feel kinda barebones In comparison. All the DLC, which are just costumes and early unlockables for some items, are Included as well so you're definitely getting the full Vesperia experience!

This is a classic RPG that you can get a good 50 hours out of. Very likeable characters and a good story are had in this game. Its an action combat RPG and is one of TALES FRANCHISES best works. Though most are good, this one sticks with you. I rate this right up there with the first Symphonia and Abyss for a Tales game that has a lot of moments that will stick with you.

This is a good introduction into the series for those interested in the Tales of series. Great characters and combat is one of my favorites. The only thing that would seem not fleshed out is Act 3 of the game. It starts to overstay its welcome. Otherwise the game as a whole is what one would expect in JRPG. The protagonist is one of the best representations in gaming in my opinion. Definitely a must play.

Great cast of characters, amazing combat depth for a JRPG that spans 40-60 hours long, and an ageless art design that still looks good today. If you don't prefer the English dub, the game gives you the opportunity to switch to Japanese before starting the game. I never played the original, so I would put in the category of one of the best JRPGs released this year since it's new to me.

I absolutely love this game. I've been playing the 'Tales of' series ever since Tales of Phantasia on the Super Famicom. Vesperia is by far the best entry since the series went 3D. The characters, writing and active time combat are incredible. The game still looks gorgeous and can compete graphically with modern JRPGs despite being 10 years old. Support the developers by purchasing this game!

This is the best way to play the game it runs 60fps both in game and in cutscenes. If you missed out getting this game last gen when it was out for 360 then now is the perfect time to correct that problem. The combat, story, and characters are all wonderful and you will have a great time experiencing the story Highly recommend!

There's a lot new to the adventures of Brave Vesperia if you didn't play the Japan-only PS3 version of the game, but it's also a great game to just jump into as your first Tales game. Likable characters and addicting gameplay, it'll keep your attention for literally days' worth just for a run of the main story.

A wonderful entry in the Tales series of jRPGs, Vesperia finally releases in North America with content previously only available in Japan. With a fantastic cast of characters and active battle gameplay, Tales of Vesperia is easy to pick up and play, even if you have not played a Tales game before. Recommended!

Full upgraded graphics with 1080p 60 frames per second gameplay (on PS4, switch and Xbox are lower) and all of the Japanses bonus content from the PS3

its a jrpg so you know youre going to get your money's worth. with this definitive edition, they give you the opportunity to unlock a bunch of items and stuff like that for free, right off the bat, so if you dont want to make the game incredibly easy, either dont use all those items or use them sparingly.

I've waited so many years to play this game and it was highly worth the wait. They give you all the DLC outfits and extra bonus items if you need them. Dual audio. Great visuals. Gameplay is fantastic while being a bit harsh in difficulty if you play on hard. Worth the buy.

This game originally only released on the Xbox 360 in the US over 10 years ago but is now available on PlayStation 4 and Switch. It's one of the best Tales games and best JRPGs of the past decade. It also includes content that was only in the Japanese version back when.
