As an avid photographer, I have had the pleasure of using this lens extensively, and it has exceeded my expectations in every aspect.
Image Quality:
The image quality is outstanding, with sharpness and clarity across the entire zoom range. Whether capturing distant wildlife or detailed landscapes, the lens consistently delivers crisp and vibrant images. The optical performance is on par with more expensive counterparts, making it an excellent value for the price.
Build and Handling:
The build quality of the lens is robust and durable, yet it remains relatively lightweight and easy to handle for its size. The ergonomic design, including a well-placed zoom ring and focus ring, ensures a comfortable shooting experience. The lens hood is a nice addition, providing extra protection and reducing flare.
Autofocus and Stabilization:
The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus system is fast, accurate, and virtually silent. It locks onto subjects quickly, even in challenging lighting conditions. The built-in VC (Vibration Compensation) system is highly effective, allowing for sharp handheld shots at slower shutter speeds, which is crucial for wildlife and sports photography.
Versatility:
With a focal range of 150-500mm, this lens offers incredible versatility. It’s perfect for a wide range of applications, from wildlife and sports to landscapes and even astrophotography. The zoom range allows for close-up shots of distant subjects without compromising image quality.

Considering its performance, build quality, and features, the Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD lens is an excellent investment for both amateur and professional photographers. It provides exceptional value for money, delivering premium performance at a competitive price point.

I bought this lens from Best Buy in Mira Mesa, San Diego, and I’m really impressed. The price and quality are excellent, especially for photography. I’ve been using it mainly for bird and wildlife shots, and it performs beautifully—sharp, fast, and reliable. It’s also very easy to use and feels comfortable and handy in the field. Highly recommended!

Great lens, offers a great telephoto range and sharp image quality. It is a heavy lens and I use it on my a6600, so if you’re using the a6 line you’ll definitely want to ensure you’re supporting the lens properly. The vibration control switches are a great feature and help loads when using at the full 500mm range and manual focusing. Perfect for anybody doing wildlife, moon, and sports (from a distance)

Great compact ultra zoom lens! Some say it is too heavy but that is all relative. Take this lens in a for hand held shots all the time with no trouble. Was between this and the Sony 200-600. No regrets. Tamron for the win.

This is a fantastic lens. I use it with an A7R2 and marries perfectly to the high megapixel count. Cloudy days can bring complications, unless your comfortable with high ISO noise. I’m very satisfied with its performance. Being able to lock the lens at a specific focal length is an amazing feature.

I love this lens. I was deciding between this and the Sony 200-600, and I think I made the right decision for my needs. Size and weight were significant factors in my decision. Yes, the Sony outperforms this lens and gives you the option of using a teleconverter, but I still feel that this lens performs very well.

This is an outstanding lens, with a good and quikc autofocus and sharp images. However, I did find it a bit on the heavy side for its compact size. Also, for my primary use, which is raptor and eagle photography, I found the focal length to still be a bit too short at only 500mm. I reluctanlty returned the lnes and decided to bite the bullet, squeeze my wallet and get the Sony 200-600mm instead. Again, this decision was strictly based on the focal length difference. The Tamron is much easier to pack, and if you do not need the longer length, it is a fantastic bargain and well wroth the price, if it meets your needs.

I'm so excited to have got this!
I tried to buy this the moment it came out - but they were sold out for what seemed like forever!
I haven't been able to take many pictures with it just yet but my first impressions.
Whoa. This thing is BIG.
It's also quite heavy.
It feels solid though - and knowing that Tamron will give me a 6 year warranty and cleaning this also made the purchase a lot easier to make.
I have the Tamron 70-180mm and I'm incredibly impressed on the quality images it can produce - I similarly feel this will do the same and I'm so excited to take it out and shoot with it.

Great telephoto lens for those looking for portability and value for your Sony E mount products. The only negative compared to the native Sony lenses is the lack of support for the multiplier adapters.

This lens is very good! Attached to a Sony a6600 puts you up close to the wildlife and is very sharp! Ordered and had it shipped to the store because a previous order from a famous vender never showed up and I am still trying to get my money back. At least at Best buy I could receive my product in the presence of a sales associate which is an added level of purchasing protection!
