As an amateur photographer I try to give my perspective on the world the way I see things through the lens so that others can enjoy that experience and frozen moment in time. Having used native prime lenses as well as native telephoto lenses, the Tamarin 18-300 mm lens for Sony is a new for me. I picked it up mainly for travel and close quarter bird photography. The lens pairs nicely with my Sony a6300 providing me with an effective 27-450mm/35mm equivalent focal length. The zoom ring can feel a bit stiff but that’s fine as it does not allow lens creep. Since the lens is small and compact it doesn’t feel front end heavy when fully extended. When paired with my a FF Sony keep in mind that your megapixel count will drop due to super 35 mode. For example, when paired with my 24 megapixel Sony A73, I lose 14 megapixels (14 million pixels) of light resolution. Still not a big deal for me and shouldn’t be for anyone as long as you know what you are doing before you click your shutter leaving minimal work for post processing. While the lens has rubber gaskets to prevent dust and moisture from entering and damaging the elements, I still wipe mines down or dust with an air bladder just to be sure. It’s nice that Tamaron offers an extended 6 year warranty on their lens as well. Overall I am very pleased with the quality, reliability, and results of this lens as I used it with the barrel fully extended in light sun showers and no water or moisture entered to the elements. Attacked are 10 megapixel photos. Bet ya can’t tell the difference.

This purchase has been the best decision of my life. I'm a beginner in the world of photography, and with this lens I was able to learn so much and expand my knowledge. The qualities of this lens are numerous. I can't deny that this camera lens is incredible.

The Tamron 18-300 paired with my Sony A6700 is a beast! Super sharp, fast autofocus, and the perfect all-in-one lens for photos and videos. From wide shots to crazy zoom, this combo delivers every time. Highly recommended!

Great lens. Upgraded from sony 55-210mm. The extra zoom range is amazing. And having the wider 18mm save me from carrying two lens. Image quantity is also an improvement.

Purchased for an upcoming Alaskan Cruise. I own the Sony 70-350 osd and kit lenses but did not want to have to exchange lenses out in this trip. I took some test shots last night and admit I am impressed with this kens. I look forward to my Cruise and many adventures with this lens and my A6000 setup.

It was perfect for our yellowstone adventure. With a better and affordable price, we captured a lot of wonderful scenery and wildlife in 100m yards away.

This lens is incredible! Extremely versatile, which is what I love most about it. Aperture isn't as open as I'd like when getting into the 35-50, but what do you expect from something with such a wide zoom range. Still a great lens all around!

An extremely versatile lens perfect for outdoors shooting on a sunny day. While not the optimal choice for indoors or shooting in low-light, with a low enough shutter and some stablization, you can make due. And don't let the aperture rating fool you, you can still get some great bokeh even at the full 300mm setting. Build quality is great, the lens feels true and heavy in hand and when shooting. In-lens stablization is not the best I've seen but it still works fantastic. For those used to shooting with fast lenses, you may need to adjust your manual settings to compensate. I found that anywhere between 1/1200 and 1/1500 work best for action shots regardless of your aperture/zoom setting to keep a low or tolerable ISO. Overall, a great choice for those who cannot dish out several thousand dollars on 3-4 lenses for the ranges included in this beast. Or for those like me who just don't like swapping lenses.

I'd say this is closer to a 4.5 than an actual 5, but this is a solid lens for my Sony A6500. It has a solid build and fast auto focus. On the other hand, it's heavy to hold and keep steady, especially one-handed, and the zoom and focus rings are very stiff on initial use. While the lens itself is heavy - over a pound - that range of focal lengths means you won't need to pack multiple lenses, so your pack may be lighter overall. I'm happy with this lens so far.

For the range this is a great lens. Not super sharp like other lenses that reach 300 (like a 70-300). But perfect as an all around family lens. I used it for kids stage program from a distance. I wanted to cover the entire stage at times as well as closeup. Worked perfectly. It's small compared to previous 28-300 lenses. Slightly bigger than Tamron 28-75/2.8 lens. Image stabilization works great too.

I primarily shoot wildlife, which requires a huge zoom lens. I wanted something for trips that weren't photography focused. This lens allows me to pack pretty light while still being able to take great shots. Would recommend!

Overall a good lens. It loses a bit of sharpness at either end of the range and the chromatic aberation could be better. But if you want a do-it-all apsc lens this is the one. Obviously you'll sacrifice some quality for the convenience but if you want to never change lenses, this thing will do it.

This lens has some amazing features, including amazing macro close-up capabilities, fast autofocus, incredibly sharp images throughout the focal range and it fits and feels very comfortable with my Sony a6400.

Have used this lens several times since my purchase and have had some really great photos. I like the fact that you don't need to change lenses for the different photo options that arise.

Good lens. I use it for sports photography. Good for zoom shots of around 50 yards. Video is good too but the zoom while recording causes blur.
Got good deal with price match.
