The autofocus does seem to be more responsive. The lens is very quiet and feels a little lighter on my camera. I have not tested or programmed the button and I feel that I could use that (if it works) to auto focus with the button while the camera is set to manual focus. Either way I am very happy with the lens.

This is one of the best lenses to have when it comes to essential. It has the range, weight and look to help you capture beautiful and professional content. This one never leaves my camera case.

The only lens you need! This lens is so perfect for capturing so many different types of photos, from every day life, to vacations, family photos, and my sweet pup. My photos have never looked so amazing and I’ve received SO many compliments on my photos taken with this lens!!! Highly recommend!

I picked this up when I bought my Sony A7 IV instead of the kit lens. It cost only a little more, but the jump in quality over the kit lens was absolutely worth it. It’s a great lens.
I also own the Sony 24mm and 35mm G Master lenses, and if you’re mainly posting to social media, this single lens is really all you’ll need.

My daughter recommended this lens. She has her own photography business and does a lot of weddings. This is one of her "go to" lenses. This lens is very flexible and really brings in the light. We had it in Greece and Crete. A flash would have been worthless with this lens. I really have no idea what I am doing and the photos are crazy good. A good cameral body is necessary. However, if you don't have good glass you are wasting your time. This lens will not let you down.

This lens is really superior to the lens that the Sony A7 IV camera ships with. The lens lets allows the sensor to receive much more light which makes a great difference which helps greatly when taking photos. More light gives you more options.

Really happy with this lens. The zoom is very useful and the image quality is sharp. Autofocus is fast and accurate, and it feels solid in hand. I’ve been using it for everyday photos and it works great. Definitely a good buy!

Within this price bracket, the constant-aperture F2.8 standard zoom lens emerges as the optimal choice. It boasts an exceptionally swift focusing speed and delivers sufficient sharpness to fulfill the demands of the A74. During video, it exhibits an incredibly low breathing effect.

I’m not an expert, but I really love this Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 for Sony. The bokeh is smooth and creamy, and it makes portraits feel almost effortless. The lens stays sharp, focuses fast, and has become my go-to for everyday shooting. It just delivers without making me think too hard, which is exactly what I wanted.
