What else could you ask for? I use an a7iii body and autofocus is insane fast. Tamron did a good job.

The only downside is that the zoom element is built from plastic, therefore if you want to avoid breaking it, be gentle rotating the zoom element or taking the hood on or off.

I was saving up for the 70-200 f2.8 G Master but I just could not justify the cost for my use. Next purchase will be the Tamron 28-70 f2.8 to replace my kit lens.

Lighter than the Sony version

If you don't need those extra 20mm this is a great way to lighten your load when traveling or having to wear your camera strap for an extended period of time.

It’s a solid lens for that medium zoom length where you want to just get a little bit closer, but can’t quite get there physically. It’s great for portraits with a nice separation. Also amazing for when you want to get some decent animal shots. I get that for the price you’re making some sacrifices, so be sure your camera has good ibis if you’re planning on shooting handheld.
