I love photographing Bald Eagles. I have gotten amazing close-ups of eagles within a hundred yards or so, but have also gotten decent photos of an eagle sitting on his/her eaglets in their nest from over a quarter of a mile away. Very satisfied.
The lens is quite heavy, so you will need a decent tripod or monopod to use it effectively, but an occasional hand-held shot works OK.

I absokutely love this lens! I have been able to capture wildlife for a distance without spooking then. My photos are crisp and clear and require little editing. This more affordable than the same Canon lens.

This is my 2nd Tamron lens and I love it. I bought it for taking shots of birds, etc and the solar eclipse. The price was right and I love the reach on it. Yes it is heavy, but not much more than my Canon 100-400 or 70-200 II (my go to lens).

Great Lens. Much better than the 1st generation of this lens. The weather sealing alone was worth the upgrade. Better and slightly faster focusing.

Although just a "tiny" bit soft at 600mm, I love the reach it gives me with a Canon 5D MKIII. I'm hoping that having it calibrated may take care of that, and even if it doesn't, I'm still super pleased. Would recommend this to any Canon user who doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars for the same sort of reach with an L glass prime. The two photos I've added here were taken at 600mm and cropped.

This is a great lens for the money! This is my 2nd Tamron lens and they both take great photos. It is a heavy lens and best used with a sturdy tripod.

I'm so happy with the purchase of this lens. If you want to take pictures of wildlife then this is a great lens to have. Just note that this performs a lot better on a full frame sensor camera and images are a little soft at 600mm on a crop sensor camera. But overall the images are decent even on a crop sensor but definitely not as sharp as on a full frame.

I bought this lens about 6 months ago and have been extremely happy with it. I do a lot of wildlife photography, mostly birds, which move very quickly. This lens allows me to get great telephoto shots. The stabilization works great, focusing, and focus lock are all great features.

I decided to take the leap on this purchase and am happy I did. I'm using it on a Canon EOS 6D and the photos I've taken are amazing. It is big and heavy, but with a tripod that's not as noticeable. I took it on a recent trip to South Africa and apart from the weight in my backpack as I moved from place to place, it was the perfect piece for capturing some amazing animals. My budget is aching a little right now due to the initial cost, but if it lasts a long time it will totally be worth the money!

Well It was just a bit to heavy for my wife, she attached it to her Canon D80 and it was to much to hold. So I had to take it back. Didn`t like the restocking fee. I would recommendif you use a tripod.
