It does the job of keeping my computer cooler. I'll know how well as the temperature goes up. My laptop fits nicely on it. Now on to the problems. There is no on and off switch. The fan is noisy. It is made of cheap plastic that will break easily.

... but not for a gaming computer. When I’m playing one of my more intense, active games, my gaming laptop still tends to run too hot. Otherwise, though, it is excellent! I love the way you can elevate the height of the platform, too. I also love the four-port USB hub; it makes it super easy to charge my wireless headset at the end of the day.

This chill pad definitely keeps things cool. I like the 4 USB ports which come with it. The height adjustment feature is also a plus. It does get a bit loud at times but I just give it a quick tap and it's good again. Would recommend to a friend

This model of Chill Mat works much better than the Chill Pad that I owned previously. It is thinner, so it fits better in the case with my computer. It has two fans instead of one. It adjusts. And, it has the added feature of multiple USB ports. Despite the improvements, the price is not much different from the previous model. This is definitely a good buy.

I owned this cooling system for a few days before returning. TL/DR version is this thing is LOUD, almost painfully so. Pros Easy to set up. 4 USB ports on the back. I didn't test out how much power they could offer but they seem good to have. It really does cool well. I have an older laptop and tried running an intense game. Overall the system was significantly cooler with this system. Cons I can't stress this enough (it even got me to write a review). This thing is LOUD. I don't think it's worth the sacrifice. I had it running and it was the equivalent of a hair dryer in the room a few feet away. I couldn't hear a thing outside of the room and it just got more and more grating on my ears. It feels a little flimsy and the yellow tabs for raising and lowering it felt cheaply made. You can't turn off the fan unless you unplug the entire system. Cost-wise this seems a bit steep. If you don't mind noise and need the extra USB ports then this cooling system may work for you. Otherwise I'd recommend looking at a different product.

It works well, but it's a bit noisy. It really helps when my laptop is running hot, though. It's easy to travel with and holds up well.

It works as expected. I would have liked it to be a bit more sturdy. I would recomend this for anyone that has a hot laptop.

I got this pad as I needed some extra cooling on my Dell Inspiron 1520, especially after having replaced the motherboard and adding a couple upgrades. It's nice that it tilts up some even though the prop system could use a little tweeking. But overall it works as good as I need it too and the USB hub is just a plus.

Its a decent cooling pad but the side peices that help hold it up dont last very long and have started coming loose it does a good job at cooling certain areas down and if you absolutely cant save up money for a better one i would say this will do but if you can get a better one like some of the ones on amazon i say get those instead

Got his for my 17 inch laptop which is a tad heavy. It's very study, easy to set up and adjust as needed. The edge is about 1.5 inches high. It isn't bad to type on, but may be better with a docking station and a keyboard for some folks. Cons: The fan may be a tad loud for some, however it keeps my machine nice a cool when playing games. The fan is optional, plug it in with USB. Height may be an issue for some typers, but I have found it pretty comfortable.

The Targus - Chill Mat+ Laptop Cooling System seems to do a good job of forcing air into the laptop. The dual fans create enough noise to be noticeable in most environments. Since the unit uses a laptop USB port, the four USB ports in the back of the unit are very handy.

Really too small for a 17" laptop as mine goes way over on both sides the lip it has in front does not stop mine from sliding off as mine slants in an angle up I have placed a non sliding mat to stop it from falling off. Plenty of room for ventilation and the fan (2 of them) does help and is very quiet, the use of the 4 angles are great for the different positions you may be sitting in. Has 4 USB in the back that work Great, Overall it does what its suppose to my biggest problem is the width in my case should be wider and I did not return because they (Best Buy) had nothing else to replace it with and no other store did either. so yeah I would recommend this item as it does what you expect it to do. bring a ruler with you :-)

When I first got this I was afraid it wouldn't be comfortable to place on my lap and be too small for my laptop. After having it for a month, I like it, but it is a little too small for my laptop, but it makes up for that with the fact that it has extra usb outlets and it cools down my laptop and it never gets hot. However, over the last two weeks when I start up my laptop it has this loud mechanical sound, but then it stops after a few minutes. Nevertheless, I love it.

It's plastic but it's rock solid plastic. I have a gaming laptop that runs hot and with the extra fans the laptop fans don't go bezerk anymore so it works just fine. The extra usb hubs help with the extra gaming stuff to plug into as well, no more switching the mic for the pad switching for the mouse switching for the keyboard etc. It was on sale for 40 some dollars so for 40 bucks I'd day it's worth it. Runs off usb power so no extra cord to plug into the power strip. No assembly needed, comes right out of the box ready to use, put it on the desk, plug in the usb power set the laptop on top of it, super easy.

The chill mat is noisy. It takes getting used to, but beyond that it is pretty nice. Seems to chill my laptop and the usb hub is really nice. The only way to turn the mat off without shutting everything down is to set laptop to hibernate.

When I first got this it was a game changer! 1. The adjustable height makes it easy for me to sit ergonomically while staring at the screen. 2. The fans kept my overheating laptop cool in the summer and have been extra helpful during my streams! 3. The extra USB ports help keep my workspace organized by allowing for me to tuck away the longer cables in the back Overall it's a great product Until the fans break. Currently, my left fan is louder than someone mowing the lawn just outside your window at 5AM and there's no way to turn them off so that you can just use the USB ports. Sometimes if I smack the fan just right it'll reset properly but it feels ridiculous to have to smack a fan into working properly. Take my advice, you'll want something else.

Right upfront I would like to say that generally I feel this is a "ok" device. I call it a "Lap-Stand" because it really isn't a cooling "pad". it is my literal daily driver, and I have had it for about 2 months now at the time of this writing. The "table" angle can be adjusted further beyond a laptop's own ability to tip its screen. I use this device with an Apple Macbook pro 13" laptop. It's actually designed for a 15 - 17" device. It cools it down very well, particularly when the laptop is under load like video editing, or long zoom (video) calls. However, there is a"but". Actually, there are 2... First, one of the features that I was attracted to was the 4 port USB hub. Anyone who has a more recent Macbook pro knows that Apple keep cutting our ports, and other ways to connect peripherals. But here is the downside with respect to this "Lap-table"... the 4 port hub is WOEFULLY under powered. For example, I use a small USB hard drive (with a spinning platter) which means it needs power. If that drive is plugged directly into one of the IO ports directly on the laptop, it's fine. However, if I plug the "Lap-Stand" directly into the IO port to get it's power, then plug the external hard drive into one of theUSB hub ports on lap-stand, the port does not carry adequate enough power to keep the Fans running AND the drive spinning, which often causes the drive to unmount from the laptop. Not good. I also use a LED light for my zoom calls. LED's draw very little power. However, if you plug the light into the hub, it too will not stay on, as not enough power is delivered through the port at a high enough voltage. I end up having to plug the light into one of the Macbook's IO ports for power directly. So really, what good is the hub on the Lap-stand? Not much. Thumb drives (flash memory) seem to do ok, but not if you have any additional load on the hub. The only small saving grace is that there seems to be a DC in port on the lap-stand. However Targa did not supply a power supply or instructions as to how to use this with its lap-stand. (why??????). Therefore if I want to use that DC power port, I will have to get an adapter, and test that port to see if that powers the USB hub and fans separately. If it does, what good is the "portable Lap-Stand" when it is no longer portable? Perhaps Targa added that for those users who think of this device as a dock? If there was the ability to temporarily shut the fans off, that would probably help this device. However, that is not an option. Which brings me to "but" # 2... The Fans.... As I said, it cools the laptop great. However the fans are very loud for my taste. For example, if I am editing video, and I want to use the on-board speakers , (which I like to do some times if the video is intended for the web) then I have difficulty hearing aspects of the audio. I literally have to unplug the fans to hear better, or wear headphones. So those are just some thing to be aware of before buying this particular product. And at a $50.00 price point, i really think a properly powered hug is a MUST! Good luck!
