You should buy this if you mainly type in bed or on the sofa. However, this fan is not good for people with desk that are not adjustable. The mat doesn't allow for tilting which may cause problems if you rest your wrist on your laptop for extended periods. Overall, it's a good fan for the sofa or bed, but if you're using it on a desk, I would buy an external keyboard and mouse.

Soft on the bottom for my legs and hard on the top but with stoppers so that my Mac stays put. I do not use the cooling fans. This gives me enough buffer that my PC does not heat up.
