Was going to get an OtterBox which is also a good solution. However the Targus turns out to be the right choice for me. Superior to Apple’s iPad cover choices in my opinion.

The volume buttons are “reversed” from all the other cases I’ve had and are somewhat difficult to press. Also the on/off button is in a location that lends itself to being pressed inadvertently.

It holds my apple pencil and even has a round hole that i can stick the tip of the pencil in when I'm not done using it but not using it right now. It doesn't hold my apple pencil very well if i have the pencil cap silicone leash on it but that's not the case's fault. The only thing I don't like is that the strips that hold it in landscape mode aren't always enough to hold it, so sometimes it falls flat when i'm drawing.
