Because the one I have is only good for those few European countries, I went with this multi-use one so I would have more flexibility in the future. This adapter works exactly as advertised. The only downsides I saw were that it's a little bulky (the price you pay for the convenience of flexibility) and at least for the European plug, my US plugs felt like they fit a little loosely.

served the purpose

However, some outlets there are narrower (oval, not round), so this wouldn't fit those. I think those are not grounded. I didn't need the other adapters that came with this, so in that sense this product was more (and more expensive) than I needed.
