It doesn't support extended desktop for the two HDMI displays on a Mac, only screen mirroring. That limits its usefulness to a very specific purpose. What's worse is this isn't mentioned in the product description on the website or on the box, which has an image of a MacBook with two monitors being used as an extended desktop. This limitation is mentioned in tiny print on p. 4 of the user guide, which you obviously would never read until *after* buying the useless product.

This dock would allow you to have dual extended monitors instead of dual mirrored or just one on the Mac. Single display or mirror display with macbook

Even with two html ports, the two monitors can only mirror the display. The official website described this compatibility issue with macbook. But bestbuy did not explicitly mention this in the description.

First please update your operating system and your computer. To update the computer please go to the support site of the manufacturer and look for any software updates available for your computer. Docking station a No Go

I tried adjusting setting and using different cables but nothing worked so I had to return it. Very disappointed

Posted .I am sorry to hear that this dock did not work for you. I am not sure what make and model of laptop that you have but this dock needs a port on the laptop that supports DP Alt Mode. It may be possible that the port you were using did not support that mode.

If the laptop does not support it then it will only offer what is supported by the host. Went into the store with my knowledge and explained to the samsung in store rep Michael. The two of us gathered information on several docks and tried them out. Narrowed it down to the Targus DSU200TT. We tried it out in store to confirm it would work with my Samsung z fold 5 and it did very well even worked with mouse and keyboard. Michael was great to do business with. Thank you Michael.

I bought this in best buy la cantera San Antonio location, after checking with the store assistant. Looks like it is not supporting the Macbook pro 2018 since it got thunderbolt 3. This Targus docking station will only support thunderbolt 4 port.

No Dual Monitor for MacOS

The best it'll do is two external displays that mirror each other so you only get your laptop screen and one other unique screen. All other functions work.

If you have MST then you can get extended. Our recommendation if you need dual extended monitors is to look into our DOCK182 or DOCK192. Posted .The USB-C Dual HDMI 4K dock will support 2 extended monitors on most systems. However, with most MacBooks it will not as MacBooks do not support MST (Multi Stream Transport). To get dual extended monitors with those MacBooks we would recommend something like our DOCK182. This is displaylink based dock and will enable dual extended monitors. If your laptop has a Thunderbolt 4 port that it should have that support. Otherwise you will need to check your laptop specs or with the manufacture to confirm.
