The carrying handles are robust. I was a little disappointed with padding on the corners and around the edge of the computer, it’s a little thin. If you dropped this while carrying it in a vertical orientation you might be in trouble. It’s hard to find cases/bags like this that also have a shoulder strap. That the main selling point for me. However, this case is not the maximum protection case that someone might desire for travel. I would say it's meant for simple transportation from car to office or to get your laptop to a meeting. For the price it can’t be beat
