Wasn't strong enough for a small bedroom. Would probably work better for a small office with not a lot of stuff.

I've owned many portables, and this one has hit the spot for my needs. I have a mini-split AC / heating unit installed in my home, but sadly, the air doesn't quite make it to my bedroom at the back of the house because of the way the hallway is structured. I needed to get something ahead of time for my bedroom during the ever hotter summer months in California. The portable window unit I had prior was just a MONSTER of a thing! It rolled, but it was just really heavy and a total pain to hook up. This TCL unit is super sleek, and although it's substantial in weight, not so much so that I couldn't bring it into the house on my own or had any trouble unboxing and setting up in the window. I DO prefer a dual hose, but given this will only be used in my small bedroom, it's actually easier to set up and REALLY cools the room down fast. I love that I can turn it on from anywhere via the app, and in the short time that I've owned it, I've had no problems with connectivity. I've used the fan function the most right now, as it's not really hot yet, but I've tested turning it on and off before leaving work. It's not silent, no portable is, so manage expectations. The noise even on high isn't bad though. I like white noise while I'm resting so it doesn't bother me at all. I haven't owned anything from this brand, but it seems to be of a high quality standard, so we'll see how long she lasts, but I'm happy with it.

Says it will cool 300 sq ft. It does not. It will cool to about 15 degrees less than outside (100 degrees outside to 85 inside). You definitely have to give it a jump and start it early in the morning when outside temps are cooler just to give it any chance to fight rising space temps. The motor is one of the loudest I have heard from an AC unit. Definitely not for noise sensitive sleepers. The window frame kit is pretty cheap. One little fragile plastic pin to keep it together. No other screws or hardware to fasten the kit to the window, so zero home protection from window entry. The wheels do roll nicely across tile. Unit is compact but just can't handke the heat load as described.

The nosie it makes is a little loud for my taste, but manageable.

Purchased and took it home. There was a missing piece. I called right away. Customer care said I could take a picture of where the missing piece was and the store would take that piece from another. I asked if I shoukd return the whole thing and was told no I didnt have to. I got to the store and, of course, that wasn't going to happen. The Manager was rude and told me they weren't a parts store! How unprofessional. I returned it the next day for a refund and will not purchase from them again! I drove 55 miles round trip twice to remedy this purchase! Ugh!

Better than a window air conditioner no leaks etc.

I do not have a useable window in my office (glass panels that do not open), so since I couldn't use a window unit, I thought this portable unit was the perfect solution. I glanced through the pictures in the listing and did not see that this unit needs window venting - I looked at the pictures that were on the ad, BUT IT DID NOT SCROLL THROUGH ALL THE PICTURES and see "easy installation". I had to return the unit. Best Buy was good at taking it back.

Works ok, but not for the size room they say it can cool.

That product I had buy come with WiFi and Good cooling technology.

Product lasted less than 10 days and emitted a toxic smell when running. Filled the entire house. Thought refrigerator in kitchen had a refrigerant leak. Hired someone to come look at the refrigerator. It was not that. Turned the AC on again and the smell filled the house. Best Buy took it back with no issue. Grateful for that. TCL should stay in their lane.

Start blowing warn air after 29 days. Tried to return to store but was told it had a 15 day return policy. The manager said my only option was to call the manufacturer to try to have it replaced. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY ESPECIALLY FROM BROOK RD. IN HENRICO VA. Their return policy is unacceptable,

When it's warm outside, this unit works fine, but when it gets hot, it just can't handle the heat. This is a bedroom unit that just didn't come through.

Setup and installation of the portable A/C is fairly simple. At around 50lbs it is heavy but has caster wheels making it easy to maneuver around. Attach the exhaust hose to the inlet and outlet pieces, put the slider in place and you are ready to go. Keep in mind that the included hose is about 5 feet in length which will be your limiting factor when determining where to place the unit. Also included is an adhesive foam strip and thicker foam padding to use for sealing any gaps. Airflow is out of the louvered vents on top and puts out a nice cold stream. It quickly cooled down a 13x15 medium sized bedroom just using medium to low fan speed setting. There are several different cooling modes to choose from. I found that setting a desired temperature and fan speed seemed to do just as well as the Smart Mode that alternates between cool and fan modes at 73 degrees. It can be operated by either the front panel controls or the remote control. It is a little odd that the symbols on the remote don’t exactly match the ones on the panel seems like that would have been an easy thing to align. I guess if you routinely use one or the other maybe it’s not that big of a deal. The manual states that during A/C operation you drain the unit at the end of the season. I have not had to do so yet and if the water gets full it will shut off and show a code on the front display. It’s a little confusing why you would want to use the middle drain outlet vs the lower one. I think the middle one is for continuous draining if using dry mode, but it also says the lower one can be used for that as well. I did not have a use for or try out the dry mode yet, but I presume that it makes it function like a dehumidifier. I also did not try the wi-fi app out because you must create an online account and it doesn’t provide any additional features that you already have with the other controls. Overall, it works great, is easy to set up and relatively small. Would highly recommend.
