I've been a Roku user for over a decade and have used it to stream free TV starting when HULU was free with no commercials. A lot has changed now, but I'm committed to paying nothing for extra's for TV. I use the Roku to stream content and wanted one for my kitchen - but also didn't want the extra box or two remotes for that room. I also use a Mohu Leaf for Over-The-Air TV and this works well with the antenna too! New flat screen TV's are much lighter weight than they were when first introduced. My older TV's are much heavier than this. I'm not interested in putting holes in my walls to hang the TV, and this one sits on a rolling shelf in the kitchen nicely. My past reasons for NOT wanting a Roku TV is that I was concerned about the upgraded technology of Roku boxes over the years, but this one also comes with 3 HDMI ports so if the old tech in the TV really becomes obsolete before the end of the life of the TV I can also just buy a Roku Stick if I need to... but lets hope I don't need to do that as it would make me then possibly need to use a second remote. One of my reasons for selecting this Roku TV over the others was for the 1080P resolution. Since this TV is only 32 inches, I don't see a spectacular difference due most likely to the relatively small size of the TV. However this was still priced lower than several other Roku TVs at 720P. Initially I wanted to buy a 28 inch Roku TV but they're rare. I did see this exact brand for sale online, but I prefer to buy things like larger electronic items from brick-and-mortar stores so that if I have a problem I can drive it back to the store and not have to be concerned with how to repackage a TV for safe shipping to an online only merchant. Interestingly, all the TVs that were smaller were the same or more money. When I realized that I do have room for the 32 inch in my kitchen, I just decided "why not"? I have two other 32 inch TV's (Dynex - a Best Buy brand of old), and 2 more - a 22" & 42" inch (Dynex) that I purchased when we had to make the upgrade to digital TV's. They all work just fine too. I'd purchased another name brand one at the same time back then and in comparison to the Best Buy brands the other name brand one was terrible so I returned it immediately to exchange for the Best Buy brand back then. I also recently purchased a Westinghouse with a DVD from Best Buy for my "old school" mother who loves her DVD's. Also like this one, very lightweight and with a good picture. Every TV I own, I purchased at Best Buy. In the store of course you can see the magnificent of the 4G's with also their massive sizes. Although fascinating, I still feel really good about these that I own now. I'm also not interested in spending more money for the latest technology. This TLC is great! My favorite thing about it, after the great clear picture, and the easy interface when turning it on, is the simply designed, single remote control. I did buy the extended warranty for the maximum time for that same reason. I'd recommend this. The store had these TV's in much larger sizes also for sale and at great prices compared to many other larger models for sale. If there is no difference in performance with size increases I'd say this is a great choice at any size.

Great TV except for streaming sound

I love this TV in a lot of ways: great 1080p picture, wifi, fast easy streaming using Roku, a headphone jack (which is increasingly rare), lightweight. But I've noticed that when streaming the sound intermittently cuts out for about 1/2 second at a time with no corresponding disruption to the picture. We have very fast internet, the TV has a strong wifi connection, and when I sat it right next to my 10-year old TV with an external Roku, only the TCL had sound disruptions. I don't watch broadcast TV (antenna) much from this unit but I haven't noticed the problem with the antenna, and I think it is worse during commercials. (Since commercials are up-to-date even with old streaming shows, I think they must be merged into the stream and perhaps this somehow makes a difference.) TCL customer service had me try resetting a few things & rebooting, and we thought maybe the issue has cleared up, but right after I got off the call it started acting up again. I tried exchanging the TV for an identical one, thinking maybe I had a lemon, but the same issue occurs with the identical unit as well. I have a couple of other minor quibbles, but only the sound problem is significant enough to make me equivocate on recommending this TV: -- It stands on little legs near the outer edges of the TV, requiring it to be set upon a surface wide enough for the legs. I would prefer a central mount, ideally one that allows some rotation. -- Watching broadcast TV, I noticed that its output is slower by maybe a second or two than my 10-year-old Sony digital 1080p TV. This can be a problem when both TVs are playing in different rooms and the sound isn't close to being synchronized.

I was looking for a small TV for my office. I did not need it to be high end as it was mostly for background noise/viewing. I own a higher end TCL TV and I was quite happy with the features it provided for the price so I decided to give this tv a try. The good: -Roku built in is nice. I am able to use Directv Now in my office so I don't need to run an antenna into my tv. Roku also has other streaming services which I enjoy like HBO Go, TED talks, etc.. -1080p resolution -built in WiFI -Very light. Easy to move around if you need to move it from room to room -Good color for the price -Priced very well Bad: There are some things that I wish were better but I did not know the stars because of the price. -The CPU in this TV is noticeably slower than on my higher end TCL tv. -The viewing angle is worse than my other TCL TV -No gaming mode preset. The input lag is not bad for gaming but when gaming mode is enabled on my higher end TCL, it is perfect. I wish this TV had gaming mode preset -No ethernet. Only wifi. So far I have not had WiFi issues with this TV but if I could, I would have preferred an ethernet port. P.S. I purchased this TV from Best Buy through their Ebay store and I received it next day. Very impressed with Best Buy shipping speed.

Excellent TV - Great Bang for the Buck

I was unsure whether to go with this TV or not. I didn't want to spend too much money but wanted the ROKU integration, since we've been using a ROKU for over 10 years now and am completely used to it. I also wanted 1080 dpi so... this seemed like a good buy - however my concern was the name TCL which honestly I had never heard of. I went ahead with the purchase and got it. Excellent picture quality and simple will setup with the remote. I paired my ROKU Ultra Remote as it is a bit bulkier than the one that came with the unit. I like having the mute button on the provided remote. The Ultra's didn't come whit that so will have to deal with it as I have in the past,. But I like the feel of the ultra's remote so am using that instead. I can use the one that came with the unit as a back up if needed. Otherwise, this TV, so far, is solid all around, and a great bang for the buck. Great sharp picture, easy to use and setup. If you are used to the ROKU, this will be a piece of cake. If you aren't used to a ROKU please understand the remote doesn't have numbers to do channel selections or a small keyboard to fill things out with. You have to use the arrows, OK button and the * (options) button. It's not hard - but if you're used to a regular TV's remote - this will be different for you. Patience... you'll get the hang of it. Glad I took the plunge and got it. It's perfect for a bedroom. However for my preferences, anything larger than the 32" would be too big for the room. If you get for this unit and you don't have a ROKU, setup your ROKU account before setting things up. You might save some time in the setup process. If you want to cut the chord, I'd recommend this TV.

I bought it to replace an old Insignia that burned out. My first surprise was how little the set weighed. Assembly was as simple as four Philips head screws for the stand feet below the set, plugging in, and completing the Roku onscreen setup. On to the details - The Picture quality is crisp and vibrant. Playing video games is incredibly easy, and the display connected to my PC without any hiccups. I blew the first three hours just watching BSG clips in glorious HD. You do have to download the free youtube app, as the preloaded youtube app is for the pay TV service. The build quality feels solid, but I have a minor defect inside the LCD panel that I've decided to look past like a flaw in a Persian rug. Sound quality isn't the best, you get two speakers mounted below the display panel, and they're not the most powerful. However, plugging in external speakers is extremely easy. As this is a smart TV, Wifi is of course, built in, and performs well. I'd never heard of TCL before deciding to purchase a new TV, but a guide website recommended it as a best value at price point. A minor negative review for amazon here, I had a heck of a time limiting buying options through search. Thankfully, I had the TCL name to guide my purchase. If not for the minor screen defect, I'd probably have ignored the sound quality and rated this full stars across the board.

    TCL 1080P 32"

Purchased today with low profile wall mount (Model:NS-HTVMFAB) and (Model: NS-PU98505) USB 2.0 to ethernet adapter. I find the only thing missing with the smaller ROKU smart TV's is a direct ethernet connection. I try to use wired connections for everything possible freeing up my WIFI. After some research I found people that wanted to put these TV's on a wired network was to use the USB adapter. You will need to first connect to the WIFI network to download firmware. Once completed reset your wireless connection and have the USB adapter installed. The picture is nice and clear and a step up from the 720P sets. I would like to see a 90 degree wall plug to assist in keeping the TV flush to the wall. The Insignia wall mount had the correct M4 mounting screws and washers needed to secure to brackets.

Bought this as a replacement for a damaged 720p, pushed a little to hard on the corner when plugging in a HDMI cable. Same size as previous, 32", and was not sure of the TLC brand but after reading reviews felt more comfortable with the decision. Again, same size and 720p to 1080p speaks for itself. What I did find to be much better was the overall speed of the TV's response and input response. So much faster then the previous unit. Overall seems well put together and have been using it now for a couple of months and have no complaints. We are accustomed to the Roku interface so no learning curves there. Overall I am satisfied and would recommend for a smaller room.

Couldn't really afford a TV/Monitor geared more to PS4 gaming, with a higher refresh rate than 60hz, but this 1080p TV was a vast improvement over my old Insignia 720p. Then again, I'm not a game purist demanding the most pristine graphics anyway. But I did appreciate the more vivid colors and clarity seen from what I do most - Facebookin' & Twitterin' & streaming online movies. I also liked the user-friendly interface. Oh yeah, I'm no tech wonk, but I swear to Sagan's atoms game graphics improved when I switched to the first HDMI port below the ARC port on the right hand side. There you have it, my recommendation? ... If you're budget conscious, don't be afraid this TV won't deliver - get yer mitts on this baby, and be pleasantly surprised! Over and out.

This is the 2nd TCL TV I’ve purchased. Very happy. The picture is great, very clear, and you can customize to your preference. The speakers aren’t the best, but as with flat screen TVs you sacrifice sound for picture. Get external speakers. I picked up the Roku TV Wireless Speakers, and they are a perfect match for this bedroom TV. The remote is small and simple, so it’s easy to navigate. And, with Roku, your movie and tv viewing options are wide open. I recommended this brand to a friend and found he had 2 TCL TVs. Recommended this to another friend, and she wasn’t too happy as she had just bought a Samsung for a little more than twice the price. Thanks Best Buy and TCL.

I purchased this TV primarily to be used as my pc monitor for my home office computer. Why you ask? Consider this, look at the specification of a computer monitor and then compare to a 32-inch TCL LED 4K TV with full 1080p resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Only similarities are they both grow on a tree. Both the TV and PC Monitor are one in the same. However, you have the added benefit of using this TV as a standalone 4K TV with such clarity and it's unbelievable for the price. Monitors of this range will cost you well over $300. You never know, all work and no play. Well, you know the rest. Switch between the two and keep the workplace (home space) entertaining. Great Buy!

Bought this as a Christmas Present for the wife so she could watch her shows. The picture is very crisp and sharp, and has good volume for it's size. Essentially it's a Roku player embedded in a TV. The setup was interesting. You have to connect with your Wifi (Which was super easy), and register with Roku before you can use the TV to view regular channels (Cable or satellite), with no option to 'skip until later'. Otherwise, it was ready to go in about 10 minutes after power on and a software update. A little work was needed to get it and the DirecTV remote to talk to each other, but have had no issues with it once all configured.

I bought this TV for a small office in my house. I hooked up a PS3, XBox 360, and a Wii to it, but I wanted smart functions because I stream all my TV and movies. First off, the TV is easy to use. The interface is easy to use plus if you can’t find the remote you can use the Roku app on a smart phone to control the TV. Second, the 3 HDMI and 1 composite connections give me plenty of ways to connect my multiple consoles. Third, the picture is great. I’m a hockey fan and I’ve never noticed any motion bluring or anything like that. My only (slight) complaint is the sound. It’s not the greatest, but it’s fine. I wouldn’t let that factor keep you from buying this TV.

This is a good TV for the price. The integrated Roku is great and is really the reason I bought it. The picture is fine for a TV in this price range. Sound is not bad either. The only issue I’ve had is that it will struggle to download new apps on the Roku home page. It will tell me it can’t download, and I’ll have to retry multiple times before it will work. Sometimes I’ll have to disconnect and reconnect to WIFi to make it work. I’ve had this issue on my regular Roku as well, so I don’t know if it’s the TV or a Roku issue. It’s also lost the WiFi connection once. Overall I’m happy with it for the price though.

My wife and I have a small living room, and this television has proved to be the perfect size for our needs. We connected the television to our home network with ease, and it has operated flawlessly. Even without cable television, the built-in Roku application on the set has given us more than enough viewing options. I have also connected a Chromecast Ultra device to the set and have cast to it from my computer for even further viewing opportunities. In terms of both quality and value, I would highly recommend this product.

Purchased this TV based on reviews and recommendations from friends and family who have had experience with TCL in the past. Very easy set up, great picture quality and perfect size. Two complaints...1) the sounds is a bit tinny (expected with an inexpensive TV) but I tweaked the sound to be the best it can (extra bass, less treble) and 2) the TV will NOT work 100% with my DISH Network remote, so I have to use two to tune in. The problem is with selecting satellite to show the DISH picture. Been told by TCL there in not a fix for that. The DISH remote works for power and volume though.

The brand of TV was not was not on my radar but it had the features I needed most: 1080P, Dual Band WiFi, Ethernet, Digital Sound Output and a Headphone output. I didn't care about the Roku feature because I'm using an Nvidia Shield with it. The set is being used in a bedroom with Headphone audio output to a vintage Logitech THX sound system and it serves me perfectly for the purpose as a bedroom media system. The picture is surprising very good. Purchased on sale for $150 too good to pass up! The CEC feature works perfectly. Turn on the shield and the set comes on and off.

I love this TV. Basically it is a “dumb” TV with a Roku device arttached. Set up was as easy as setting up a standard Roku. Great picture quality, and switching input devices is a breeze. I am only deducting one star (would deduct 1/2 if I could) because there is no component video/audio input. While I know this is an old technology, it was a bummer to have to ditch a perfectly functioning DVD player and buy a new blu ray. Who needs a smart blu ray when you are hooking up to a smart TV?

We purchased two 55 inch 4 series TCL TVs last year and fell in love with the Roku system. Purchased this unit for the inlaws who are not technology savy. The ease of the Roku system introduced them to streaming and now they love Netflix, Amazon prime and YouTube. Not only is the TV easy to use but the picture is great for the money and size. It's not 4k, but there is a noticeable difference between this TV and their other sets. The one complaint is the fact that the remote is ir, meaning you have to have line of site to the receiver at the bottom of the TV.

I usually like TCL Roku TV's. This was my 4th in the house and the smallest in screen size. Thing is this TV has WiFi issues unlike my other larger TCL TV's. Keeps losing WiFi connection to the extent a full TV-RESET must be done. It's like the WiFi circuit inside this TV stops working and only a full RESET will bring it back to operation. I once had a 28" TCL in the garage that did the same thing and returned that one. Something about these smaller screened TCL TV's and their WiFI circuity failing. And only a full RESET will temporally fix it. Will be returning this TCL probably for the 32" Samsung.
