Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the picture quality, easy setup, price, Roku integration, and gaming experience of the 43" Class 5 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV. They appreciate the amazing picture quality, simple setup, affordability, convenience of Roku's built-in streaming platform, and its suitability for gaming. However, customers are negative about the remote control's cheap feel, concerns about durability, reports of screen issues and short lifespans, and the color quality.

Good blacks for dark rooms due to the VA panel, the built-in Roku isn't bad for the price, the hdr and dolby vision could be better but I consider it a bonus, overall good TV for gaming and streaming.

I got this as a computer monitor due to its excellent color gamut (92% DCI-P3 and 74% Rec 2020 coverage from rtings.com) and support for HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG. I am running Windows 10 in 4K HDR 10-bit color and am running into limitations, none of which are this TV's fault. My MacBook Pro 13 (2017) can run it at 4K 60Hz and OS X reports 30-bit color, but no HDR. On Windows 10 with an RTX2080, YouTube videos (VP9) detect the HDR capability and run perfectly and are ridiculously vivid and colorful. I still haven't found a definitive answer of whether this is a true 10-bit display or if it is an 8-bit panel with FRC (frame rate control) and dithering, but on the test png gradient image I made, I see no banding at all while banding is clear on my old 8-bit monitor with the same image. What is painful is trying to take screenshots as they end up completely washed out or you get an error warning HDR must be disabled first. Secondly, I had trouble finding a media player with video acceleration to play HDR content depending on the codec and have tried VLC, PotPlayer and KM Player. Clearly the software/OS side is not quite ready for prime time. Destiny 2 seems to work fine, recognizing the HDR capability and there is very little input lag. Photoshop CS6 supports 10-bit color if you set the GPU hardware acceleration setting for 30-bit color. All 3 HDMI inputs seem to support HDMI 2.0a. The speakers are okay and don't sound tinny or weak. If only it supported 120Hz at 4K. I also haven't found a way to make it behave like a PC monitor so I still have to manually turn it on and off since it doesn't shut off right away if it detects no signal like a normal PC monitor. Bottom line, it works perfectly for what I bought it for and it is much cheaper than any true 10-bit PC monitor. You can find the rtings review for all the technical details on why this is a great TV.

I bought and compared this side by side with LG 43un7300 (closest competition) in my house. This TV won hands down for better details in dark scenes and better overall color. This TV has more colors (wide color gamut!) than any other sub 300 TV out there. White and black were so much more well defined on this screen. Got this to pair with the Xbox series x for the kiddo’s room. So if you’re shopping for that same reason I’m telling you, this is your TV. Returned the LG, BUT... if you’re getting a TV for a larger room where people will likely view from more angles, I recommend the LG over this one. This one looks best from almost straight in front.

Bought this for my super small apartment hoping the already great reviews on Amazon checked out. The positive reviews are right! This TV blows away my old Samsung TV. Super happy with the picture and I can even stream Dolby Vision on NETFLIX! Score!

Got this TV because this is the only 43" model to fit my cabinet. Surprisingly good TV for the price. Picture is good with nice colors. Wish it can be a little bit brighter. The Roku TV UI is fast and easy to use. The only downside so far is the remote, feels cheap and flimsy compare to the regular Roku remotes. The time will show how reliable this TV is.

This tv is amazing for what it offers at this price range. 4k movies look great on this unit. I also have my older PS3 and Nintendo Switch connected to this tv and they look great. I have not connected my PS4 to it yet so I don't have actual viewing on that yet but with all else I am seeing I will say in confidence I believe it will look great. The roku features are easy to setup and being built in could not be more convenient. I went with the series 5 for the HDR10 and Dolby Vision features but the series 4 is a good option as well at about $50 cheaper. You won't find another tv at this price with these features so consider TCL when you upgrade.

This TV totally exceeded my expectations. I compared it to two Samsung QLED TVs and the picture quality is much better. The black is much deeper and the darker areas are enhanced way better to see the detail and the color. It may not be as sharp out of the box but that’s because Samsung has sharpness turned up to the point where you see a white line around object in certain conditions when you look closely at the screen. The Roku interface is the easiest to use by far. The only complaint is no Bluetooth output. However, if you use the Roku remote app, it’s has that function although you obviously have to use your phone for that.

Not a brand I was familiar with, but the picture is so clear and impressive - I run completely with wifi (Sling), actual antenna plus premium apps. Sometimes its brain farts and kicks you back if you're choosing things too quickly, but the picture is in another league than 3 year old Samsung claiming to be 4k. Lean and svelte, I feel clever having taken a chance on this Chinese brand. Everything's built there anyway... I wish Roku made a remote that played with different sources better but, that's on them... slight flaws but still giving 5!

Bought this for my 70 year old dad who wants to cut out high $$$ cable. Roku is so user friendly, I knew he would have no trouble. Once everything is connected (took less than 30 min) this smart TV guides you through it’s set-up. Dad loves the Roku remote app for his phone, especially the voice search function so he doesn’t have to type in one letter at a time. The picture is wonderful, sound quality is good even without a sound bar. Has all the most popular streaming platforms plus tons of free content. Bought during the COVID shut down and Best Buy made contact free pickup so easy.

It's no secret that TCL make some of the best value HDTVs on the market in terms of picture quality and features. I mean 4K, HDR10 and Dolby Vision and a terrific Roku OS for well under $300 is just amazing. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because occasionally I have to Restart Roku/TV to restore picture settings and Dolby Vision support. A small price to pay but an annoyance none-the-less. I use it as a HDTV, a PC monitor and gaming monitor.

Love this! Not too savvy about TCL tv's but it gets the job done. Nicely valued with great quality. I use this computer mainly for gaming and the UHD is enough eyecandy for me when I game. Having roku built in is awesome too, my only diss is that you still have to point the remote control at the sensor, which is different from other roku remotes that don't even have to face the TV. Otherwise, pretty happy with this one.

This TV was purchased for the study. The 43" size is perfect for this application. It was also purchased primarily for the Smart TV functionality, sine it replaced and older TV with external smart devices connected. The interface is relatively intuitive and easy to use. The picture quality is not bad for the level of product, but if you are looking for a top quality picture, I'd recommend looking at more expensive models or brands. Overall, very happy with purchase and value.

When I got this tv to replace my monitor for my pc and Xbox I was worried about the input delay but I was shocked on how well this tv performed. It has very little or no input lag and the HDR is absolutely stunning. It easily compares to the high end TVs for the price you pay for it. This is hands down the best tv you can get for the money.
