Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the picture quality, easy setup, price, Roku integration, and gaming experience of the 43" Class 5 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV. They appreciate the amazing picture quality, simple setup, affordability, convenience of Roku's built-in streaming platform, and its suitability for gaming. However, customers are negative about the remote control's cheap feel, concerns about durability, reports of screen issues and short lifespans, and the color quality.

    Smartest Option at 43"

We have a small cut out area in an office type room in our house and a 43" is all that will fit. The TCL 5 Series was really our only consideration. Sure, one could pay double the price for a Sony or Samsung 43" but I can't imagine the picture being better than the TCL 5 at this size. Add in the Roku OS that is very smooth and fast, and it's a no brainer. I tested 4k on Netflix with Space Force and it looks pristine. I tried Vikings on Amazon Prime Video which, I believe, is 1080p and that also looked as good as could be expected. Live TV on YouTube TV looks as good as anywhere else I've seen it. Sports look great with no noticeable blur. Video games look super clear and detailed. There are zero motion issues and input lag is excellent. Very happy overall.

This was a gift to upgrade parents 32inch 720p tv. Huge improvement. Good picture quality. It fits there needs. Roku is the main star for these tvs. System is easy to use and no need for extra boxes because all apps are right on the tv.

Incredible value TV. Was looking for something inexpensive for the bedroom and WOW. It is incredible what you get for your money with TVs now. No local dimming isn’t that much of a bummer with this size of TV. The Roku built in apps are great as well.

Can’t believe a “Smart Tv” doesn’t support mirroring screen from iPhone or any iOS products!!! This is stupid. Going back to the store. Other then that it works nice. Clear pictures and easy to use. Works great with PS4 Pro

The picture is great, the set up was easy, and even my parents who are technology phobic are able to use it without difficulty. My family liked it enough that when my grandmothers old tv broke, she went out and bought the exact same tv. So that tells you how great it is!

Bought this for my recently finished basement. Picture quality is great on this set. Sound quality is much better than my 55" Vizio. Volume on the side of the remote is a little funky, but you get used to it.

We like the TV - we bought it for our bedroom and it's larger than our previous one which is great. The picture is very good. The remote is not that user friendly so I'm not sure we're getting the most of our TV.

I've had this TV for a couple weeks now. It's my first Smart TV, so I may be missing something, but it's been great. Easy (although lengthy) set up. Easy to operate even if I'm still learning how to use some features. Great picture. Highly recommend it.

I've had this TV for one year now and have zero complaints. The built-in Roku interface makes it easy to navigate and I love the controller with minimal buttons. It also boots up very fast! For the price, I believe this is a solid choice for most consumers. Sure you'll probably notice the picture quality between this and a more popular brand like LG, Sony, and Samsung if they're side by side but, in reality most people's eyes won't tell a difference. Unless you're a videophile (which in that case you'd probably be looking at OLEDS and not concerned about price) I can't justify spending almost double on a more popular brand just to have a "slight" better picture quality. I've read complaints about TCL's breaking down and maybe I just got lucky but mine has given me zero issues. Moving forward TCL has won my business over.

I have been enjoying my new tv. I usually buy another brand but I have seen this brand in client's homes. They seem to be happy with it so I decided to try it as a second tv. I am also quite happy that my local cable tv provider was not able to provide the service because they refused to upgrade infrastructure at their cost. They wanted the homeowners to pay for it when homeowners assoc. is not involved at all. So cord cutting has been wonderful. Using the available digital RCA antennae has worked remarkably with my earthlink hyperlink internet service. Recently, I added a Bose solo 5 sound bar and I have been smiling ever since when I use my tv/soundbar/antennae.

This is a great TV; I mostly watch content in 720p and rarely 1080p, and the set upscales it to 4k very nicely. While the screen could be brighter it's adequate for living room use near a window. I love the Roku integration and use the Plex app constantly.

This is probably one of the better 43 inch tvs for the money. It has Dolby Vision and HDR10. Most of the tvs in this class and size only have HDR10. If you watch a lot of Netflix tv programs you will see that they support Dolby Vision. The only gripe that I have about this tv is that it has poor viewing angles. This tv has to be viewed in the center of the screen in order to see the best picture possible. If you view this tv from the side the picture looks washed out. Most of the tvs made by the other manufacturers use VA panels as well so you will probably experience the same issues with those tvs as well, without the benefit of Dolby Vision or a Wide Color Gamut which this tv supports.

Bought this to replace 17-year-old Sony and was pleasantly surprised both by the vastly improved picture quality and ease of operation. We've streamed films from myriad sources and never had a problem. Particularly like the simple, easy-to-use remote.

This is the first tv we’ve purchased in 11 years. The price was right and so were the reviews. Picture is clear, sound is decent although I’ll probably purchase a sound bar down the road and it’s was simple to set up and use. Highly recommend.

If you don't have a roku, fire TV, or apple TV and need an all around good set for a bed room or home gym, go for this TV. Picture quality was fairly good, though black levels looked a bit washed out to my eyes. App interface is also easy to navigate and update. My one true complaint is with blue tooth. Though the set offers blue tooth speaker connectivity, it will only pair with roku speakers. This seems like an arbitrary restriction and could be a deal breaker depending on your audio set up. Though I ended up returning this set for a Samsung with better color reproduction and black levels, I will always consider TCL when needing a budget option.
