    VERY NARROW VIEWING ANGLE

    Replacing a 10 year old (but working) 32" JVC LCD. That TV is better than this one except for the lack of smart tech. I thought I did my research but I was wrong. The viewing angle of this TV is VERY VERY narrow. DO NOT BUY THIS unless you are planning to sit directly in front of it. If you are, then you'll enjoy it. Otherwise, this set is very nice, especially for the price. I guess that extra $30 for a more familiar name is worth it. Really dissappointed and its going back soon. Something else to look into for the whole class of sets. Check the width between the stands. These are supported by 2 widely set feet, rather than a center pole. If you are putting it on top of something, make sure its wide enough. That dimension is probably only on the manufacturer web site - or measure in the store....and observe the view angle. These TCLs probably have to be turned off in the store to sell.......dont let TCL USA fool you - made in China I miss plasmas..........

    You get what you pay for! Things I like: 1. TV setup was a breeze. Things I DON'T like: 1. Sound quality is horrible. Tried changing the settings from Normal to speech to theatre to everything possible. You just can't hear clearly if you are in a large open room with wall at the back. 2. No ON/OFF button on TV. 3. Cannot change channels or volume on TV as there are no buttons. Everything is on the remote. 4. Lot of plastic. Fingerprint magnet. As I said, you get what you pay for. 5. Screen quality is very average or poor especially on well lit conditions. I have not figured out the UHD thing yet. Looks like a standard HD.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. This TV actually does have a physical power button and physical volume buttons located on the TV itself. The physical power button is located under the status light you can see on the front of the TV. Right under the TCL logo you will feel 3 buttons; the middle button should be the power button with volume buttons on either side. There are options available to adjust the picture settings to better fit your personal preference. You can access the Options menu on the TV by pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote while watching content. Additionally, you can access expert picture settings by downloading the free Roku mobile app on a smartphone or tablet. The Roku mobile app works as a remote and allows you to access additional features like voice search, private listening, advanced picture settings, and more. Hope this helps!

    Lacking qualities that you should expect

    The sound quality is poor. Very hollow sounding and in some instances it’s as if one of the speakers is blown. It was represented that the picture quality was good and that’s the case—if you’re directly in front. Move to the side and the picture washes out so bad you’re not able to see clearly what’s on the screen.

    Not so great

    The tv itself was great. Good picture, all my apps, fantastic. I bought it because I bought my daughter the smaller version and it kicks butt. Until, the sound started having a really strained projection. So I returned it. Could have just been a fluke though.

    the only thing great about this tv is the price. sound is weak. (ok if you add speakers) Picture is great, from a very narrow field. even with upgraded remote from DISH it still requires two remotes to operate. ( drove the DISH tech assistants crazy )

    The tv has a nice design, and prettt good sound. But I think the picture isn’t as clear as other similar 4K TVs our tnere. I’ve messed with it for over a month and haven’t gotten the picture right for watching tv or using my Xbox one.

      Here are a few common factors that can affect picture quality
      -If streaming, check your internet speed. Low speed can severely affect picture quality. The number of users on your network can impact the speed as well. Lastly, in some areas, ISP’s will throttle down speed at different times of the day, so it is important to check the speed while the problem is happening.
      -If connected with a HDMI cable, swap out the cable to see if it makes a difference. While cables do not go bad often, there is a chance that it could have. A new cable with help to isolate the issue as well. You can also try a different device to make sure it is not the device itself causing the problem.

    While this is a nice looking TV and its smart function is cool, the TV stand does not include tools to put it together. Also every time I turn the TV on it must reconnect to the internet.

      Hi Will,

      This TCL Roku TV comes with two feet with screws to secure them, a power cord, a TCL Roku remote with batteries, and a quick start guide. The only tool you may need is a screw driver to secure the screws. Additionally, when the TV is turned off, it shuts of all features. However, if you enable Fast TV Start in the menu by going to Home>Settings>System>Power>Fast TV Start>Enable your TV will remain connected to the Internet even when off. Hope this helps!

    I am not the pickiest person but I noticed that the tv had terrible audio. I wasn’t able to understand any male voices and highering the volume only made it sound more muffled.

    Roku apps just added another layer of complexity and button pushing. Can't bypass Roku options upon bootup. Also vesa mount screw holes not in dead center position on tv.

      You should know that if you go from your home screen to settings/system/power, you can have the TV power to the home screen, your last used input, or any active input. And the mounting holes are centered horizontally as they should be and located on the lower half of the TV for better support. Hope that helps, TCL support

    Connecting to wi-fi has been nearly impossible. Very aggravating. Only connects if located within inches of a router.

    Poor picture quality and no casting available

    I got this TV a week before. The picture quality is bad, though it is a 4K. Screen mirroring is not working probably.

    Nice set but it is not compatible with any Directv remote. Bought a Logitech universal but it is painful setting it up.

      Sorry for your frustration. I have at home program boat the RC 66, and RC 71X to power the TV on and off, control the volume, and choose inputs.
