    Great Bedroom TV

I purchased this TV to replace my 7 year old Sony in our bedroom. For the price this really can't be beat. After reviewing other a comparable sets from insignia and Sony and Samsung, this was the only TV of this size that offered a 120 Hz refresh rate at under $300. Is the image as vivid as the Sony's? Absolutely not but it's very close and also not $600 for the same size. Further the roku integration works really well. I especially like the fact that I can use my bt headphones through my phone and it will automatically shut the TV speakers off. That way I can watch late night TV and my wife can sleep. Settings are pretty straightforward. I increase the color a little bit and the sharpness. The only downside I can think of after 2 weeks of use is that it has a very bright light underneath the middle of the TV that controls the remote. However because I can turn the TV on and off with my smart phone, I put a piece of electrical tape over the light and the remote has been in my nightstand drawer since the day it was purchased. In summary, this certainly is not going to replace my LG OLED TV downstairs but for casual bedroom viewing, this "bargain" 4k television has far exceeded my expectations, especially for such a great price.

I bought this tv because the salesman said TCL had been making TVs for 30 years but that they were just beginning to get noticed. I was unfamiliar with TCL, but interested because of the price. After hearing the sound on the floor model, I was hooked! I think a tv should have a good picture and good sound. I don’t have or want a sound bar or any of that extra sound stuff. I’m not sure why, but many popular TVs have terrible sound! I wanted a tv with good sound - without having to add anything extra. I was so pleased!! This tv has AWESOME sound! I usually keep the volume at 15 (it can go to 50) and it doesn’t sound like it’s coming from a tin can. Besides the sound, this tv is fabulous all the way around! Super picture, great color and cool remote! I love the ease of changing from Netflix back to the antenna, then to streaming, etc. This is my new “Go To” tv brand! This tv is not only amazing, but it is reasonably priced! What’s not to love?! I will definitely buy more TCL TVs!!!!

    Works well as 4K Monitor

I researched several TVs to use as a 4K monitor, and this one was mentioned frequently. That’s due to the HDMI compression that it used allowing it to clearly render text. That’s about as technical as I can get explaining that, but there’s a lot online about it if you want more info. Bottom line, it works well with my MacBook Pro through a USB C hub, though I think the hub is limiting the refresh rate to 30hz. The picture is very clear, text is easy on my eyes and it gives me tons of space to work with. I have it mounted on a swing arm that fit the 100mm VESA mount holes also freeing up space on my desk. Probably not something that a professional that needs a high degree of color accuracy would use, but it’s a great monitor for the price.

TCL is a brand that came out of seemingly nowhere and quickly became a staple in the value category. This particular 43" display is much nicer than it's price suggests, and offers amazing color and clarity vs. even more expensive models from LG and Samsung. My only complaint is that the panel lighting is a bit uneven, but unless you're looking for issues, you'll love every minute with this TV. My unit came perfect out of the box with no dead pixels or technical issues. My wife and I have been using this TV for nearly 2 months now and so far the built-in Roku has been a great feature as well. We are able to stream 4k content from Wi-Fi and it looks amazing. Couldn't recommend this product enough.

I bought this TV for my mother whose only request was for a SmartTV in order to access applications such as Netflix. She's not technically inclined so the TCL was probably the best choice for her because of the Roku interface. It shows all the connected inputs and apps on the home menu. The remote is small and uncluttered with the home button located on top and center. It is also a 2160p TV so the image quality is good, much better than other TV's in the same size and price range. My mother was blown away by the image quality and commented on how amazing it was to be able to see what a person's face actually looks like.

I have owned this television for over a month and I love it! Picture quality is good, sound quality is good, works well as a smart tv. For the price, this is a great television. Indeed, in my opinion, it is superior to all other TVs in its price range and many other more expensive ones (and I spent more time than I care to admit comparing the options prior to purchasing this television). The only negative is that the range of its ability to pick up a WiFi signal could be wider, but this can be alleviated by WiFi boosters so not a major problem. I have no regrets concerning this purchase and would definitely recommend this television to others.

    Great Cheap TV

Cheap in price - not in quality. I had 12 year old vizio finally go out and needed a quick, affordable replacement. I went with TCL because I'd recently bought a 55" TCL 4K (the 607 or something) that was recommended by rtings.com as a gaming tv and was very impressed with it. I can't rave enough about Roku and when I needed a simply, basic TV for the office that was a big part of the decision. TCL makes very good quality TVs at affordable prices. I'm happy with both TVs. It all depends on reason (live TV, gaming, movies, etc.) for purchase and I highly recommend the rtings.com website. But if you just need a simple TV for a spare room / office that only gets used occasionally, this is a great choice.

At first I thought I was not going to be going with a TCL, but I kept reading good reviews for this fairly new brand. Then we went to Best Buy and spoke with a very knowledgeable representative in electronics. We discussed the merits of a few brands, but when it came right down to it, this TV, TCL - 43" Class - LED - 4 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR Roku TV, checked all the boxes for me, plus it was on sale. I have had it for several weeks and am extremely pleased with its performance. Great picture, pretty good sound, love that I get a great selection of TV shows and movies without paying for cable. This is good. I recommend this brand and can personally vouch for this model.

Even when not on sale, this TV is an amazing value. I've been using it now for 6 months and have run into zero technical issues. The built in Roku functionality is as good as a separate set-top box and really helps to reduce clutter. I have been using it primarily with HBO Now and Netflix and 99% of the time I can watch things at amazing clarity with no buffering. I also appreciate that this TV has 3 distinct HDMI ports over the average 2. My only complaint is that the lighting on the panel is a bit uneven, but you can barely tell unless you're looking for it. Also, great response times for gaming! I'm able to play PS4 Pro and SNES Classic on this thing with such low input lag it almost feels like a CRT.

I bought this TV to replace a 2007 Sony Full HD tv. For this price point, nothing else is better. The Roku OS is great, smooth. Picture quality at 1080 and 4K are great. Used mostly for PS4 and Directv. HDR on PS4 games is an improvement over SDR, but I do not have a PS4 Pro to take advantage of 4K HDR output. 4K 60 FPS YouTube videos are amazing. Backlight is not as bright as others, so this tv in a bright room will take some settings adjustment. Don’t expect the PQ of a high end Sony or Samsung. 100% recommended for this price point.

I went to the local store to see TVs side by side to help judge the pictures. They are all so good that for me it came down to price. As some have noted in their reviews, there is some color washout if you get more than 45 degrees off to the side, and with TCL it did seem to be more so than a couple of the higher priced brands. Since this was going in my spare room, the viewing angle "issue" was not enough to get me to spend an extra $100. Setup was easy and I am in love with the built in ROKU system. No more ugly cable box and monstrous remote. GOOD JOB TCL.

I purchased this TCL 4K television to go into my garage. So far it has performed flawlessly. As long as you don't expect the picture quality, features, and sound of a TV worth $1000 or more, you should find it fills it's niche quite well. I'm very satisfied especially considering what the sale price was. Could use more powerful speakers for better sound, but I solved that with an auto-out cable and external powered speakers...

My company purchased 8 of the 43" TCL 43S405 for use in the dining room of a restaurant. We could not be more pleased. They all were easy to install and set up. The picture and viewing angles are excellent for the price. These TCL TVs replaced Vizio branded TVs and we have found TCL to be superior. Sure, there are more expensive TVs on the market, this TCL model is a great product for the money. Have been using all eight of the TCL 43" TVs for over 2 months without a single problem with any of them.

I bought it today and the 4K UHD is amazing. Crisp & sharp. HDR on the other hand doesn't pop like other HDR tvs. But it's a budget tv that packs a punch for the price. Roku built in is a bonus. Tons of streaming options, apps and games. And lightweight! If you're not looking to spend a lot on a 4K Tv and want a good experience. I suggest getting this unit.

I purchased 2 of these to use a monitors for my PC vs paying $350-$500 each to purchase monitors that are much smaller. The picture is sharp and perfect for what I am doing. I am not a gamer. This set up gives me options to stream or use them as PC monitors. The interface is easy to use and I can operate both TV's with one remote so I can easily switch from work to home. If you want some serious, affordable "realestate" for your computer monitors 2 of these TCL's is the way to go!

TV has been great. Purchased for use in the master bedroom. No issues whatsoever. Picture and sound are great. If I had to say anything bad about it, I would have to say I don't like the remote because it doesn't have alpha numeric buttons. We watch tv thru the Xfinity app that I installed so we don't have to pay for an extra cable box, but it's a pain not to be able to jump right to a specific channel without going thru the entire guide with only the arrow buttons.

Bought this as a replacement for a TV our movers broke. Got this TV on sale at Best Buy and have been rather happy. The TV has no issue streaming and comes with Roku, which I use fairly often. The 4k output is awesome as the colors are bold and crisp. The stands are solid and we had no issue putting this TV on our chest of drawers as it is that stable. There are not many HDMI slots would be the only true downside to this TV. Other than that, we love it and highly recommend it!

I purchased this ROKU enabled TCL TV after 2 returns for FireTV enabled devices. Let me be clear I was looking for a valuae "second screen" TV for my bedroom. This device fit the bill. The screen is great. You CAN turn the dumb light off. Overall it is a great 4K TV with a stable "connected" system in Roku that works smoothly and does neat stuff like pause live TV with a 32GB USB memory stick installed. I'm really happy.

I was going back and forth between this and a 1080 50" Fire TV. I chose this because I wanted to try a 4k TV and I can tell a difference between this and my other 1080 TV. Also I like that I can control it from the Roku app on my phone. I can also listen to the TV using headphones connected to my phone (through the app). Finally it has a live pause feature with the antenna connection (you supply a USB stick) for up to 90 minutes. All in all very satisfied.

I love this tv because of how vivid the colors are and the quality is great. Big plus that it is a ROKU smart TV. Only thing I hate about this TV is the huge LED light under the TV that turns on when the tv is off. Very distracting when I'm trying to sleep because my bed faces the TV. Tried to black it out with black tape but it prevents the remote from working properly. Just something to consider if you are having the tv in front of your bed.
