Bought this on sale, and the picture quality couldn't be better for the price. Perfect size, easy to mount, and colors pop. Very happy with my purchase!

I really like this TV. Picture is sharp and clear, comparable to much more expensive units. Connectivity is good, and streaming functions work as expected over WiFi. Using an adapter, I connected the analog headphone output to my older non/AV stereo system. This allows me to control the volume from the remote while listening on my studio grade speakers. The bottom line though... you can get all this for under $300. Operation is simple too! What's not to like?

Paid $249 for the 43-inch on a Black Friday sale. Bought it as it fits into my 50-inch cabinet perfectly. The good: lots of technical ability like HDR, DolbyVision, Atmos sound. The picture is is very sharp and the color gamut is jaw dropping gorgeous. Love this for the price.
The bad: no local dimming is brutal. If there is a lot of white on the screen, the brightness will near blind you. The detail washes out and text has a drop shadow or halo effect, almost like a gauze filter causes. There are many settings for brightness but nothing defeats the lack of local dimming. The side angle viewing is worse than expected. I knew it was limited going in, but, even 2 feet to left of center washes out the color. Bummer! Last, the remote control you get from Best Buy does not have voice input and the infrared line of sight does not work well, skipping key strokes and having significant time lag. The remote apps, Google and Apple, do not work for more than one day without having to Reset the Internet IP address. Buy a TCL/Roku Internet remote with voice control if you can find one.

Hi Susan,
If you are looking for a TV with local dimming you would want to check out our Award Winning 6-Series. Additionally, you shouldn't need to reset the Internet IP address on the free Roku mobile app. This sounds rather odd. You may want to try to uninstall and reinstall to see if this resolves the issue. You may also want to try restarting your phone/tablet that the app is downloaded on. Hope this helps!
Thank you,
Sara TCL Customer Support

I’m giving this TV five stars because, for $250 it’s impossible to beat for quality and performance. Don’t let the TCL brand name scare you away.
Picture quality is excellent and it was a breeze to set-up. Sure, I could have spent $500 for a similarly sized TV, but maybe I am not a snob or maybe I just like to find quality at a reasonable price?
You will be very happy with this TV. If you are bent on spending more money, purchase a soundbar system to upgrade the TV sound, and you’ll have a match made in Heaven.

I am so impressed with this TV.... I love the roku interface and the screen is crystal clear... I needed a smaller tv to also use a computer monitor... this tv was rated High for that purpose and I agree... I also have a Sony and a Super UHD LG... and when I comes to crisp and clear... this TCL TV is right there with them as far as a monitor goes... 4k looks good... and I can't say enough about the ease of use and program options of the roku.... if you are looking for a great tv in the 43 - 49 inch range... check this one out!

Bought this after a lot of research, it was for a spare playroom and didn't want to spend to much but also wanted something with decent features. This fit the requirements and I'm not disappointed. Dolby vision and hdr is incredible and for the price the picture quality easily matches my Samsung Q7. I am in shock, at the picture quality of,the tv compared to well known sony and Samsung brands. Would not hesitate to but another.

I bought this TV as I was replacing a 32" Samsung set in my bedroom. I did a lot of research on TCL and Roku TV's and so far i'm impressed. The bezels are thin, the setup was simple, the picture is fantastic, and the Roku software is extremely smooth. I have a chromecast and antenna attached and toggling to either of those inputs couldn't be easier. I also have Sling, HBOGO and Plex which fire up right away. This is a great television set for the money and I am pleased with my purchase.

This is a really great looking tv. I use this almost exclusively for playing my Xbox One S. However, I use the built in Netflix and Sling to watch movies and tv. Everything looks great and sounds great.

I would give a 4.5 out of 5. The price pushes it to 5. I purchased Tv after seeing on a daily deal and looking at reviews on bestbuy and rtings.com purchased for $200. Overall a very good tv, the pluses are that roku is built in, thin border, good amount of inputs, and the picture has good contrast, black uniformity, color gamet and gradient. It misses on local dimming, viewing angle, the stand is fairly cheap. The sound is good but could use a sound bar.

Great picture quality, especially for the price. Not many options if you are one who likes to tinker with the picture, the maximum brightness leaves a lot to be desired, and plugging in inputs is a bit of a chore, but overall I am very happy with this TV. It's perfect for the bedroom, especially because of the built in Roku. I wish I could say that the Roku always worked seamlessly, but I'm frequently having to reconnect each channel to my Fios subscription, which is a pain. I doubt, however, this is a function of the TV, so no stars are being deducted. Great TV for $300.

This TV is a second TV for the house so it did not need a really big screen. The picture quality is outstanding and it was easy to set up. This is the first TV I owned with ROKU built in. Because I added ROKU to another smart TV at the same time, I did not have any issues setting the streaming services. I would recommend this TV to someone that does not need all the bells and whistles but still wants a high quality streaming TV.

This is an amazing TV at an absolute combination of quality and budget. I waited long to decide whether to get TCL 4 series at much lower price but made a right decision to pay more and get 5 series. The brightness on 5 series makes a huge difference and Dolby vision support is an add-on benefit.
Highly recommend and don't look anywhere.

I bought this 4k TV for 260 on a best buy special, some leds non 4k goes for the same price. I was skeptical about the name brand, since it's not well known to me, I always have bought Sony, Samsung even insignia tvs. The picture quality it's great, it's very thin and has smart apps. The negative about it its that u have to directly aim the controller to the TV to make changed to the TV, there's an app to download in Android device which makes it easier. I would recommend this TV for a person who is in a budget,
