    Excellent TV for the bedroom

    This is a terrific 1080p TV for the bedroom. 4K is useless if your screen is under 60 inches and you plan to sit more than six feet away from it. It has very bright and detailed imagery with no light bleed on the sides of the screen, and no “soap opera” effect. The built-in Roku is snappy and easy to use, just like their stand-alone units. I also really appreciate that it has three HDMI inputs instead of just two, which is what most other manufacturers offer at this price range (looking at you, LG and Samsung). As someone who still watches over-the-air TV, I was hesitant to buy this TV at first since the remote does not have a number pad to key-in channels, but the channel guide is very slick and easy to navigate with just the directional pad. My favorite feature is the ability to pause and rewind over-the-air TV (which stand-alone Rokus cannot do). Just plug in a USB 2.0 memory stick (16GB or higher) and you can pause and rewind up to 90 minutes of the channel you are watching. You can’t save and record programs in advance like a full-fledged DVR, but for casual bedroom TV watching, this is a great feature. Early reviews of this TV said that it takes several seconds to “boot up” after powering it on, but thanks to updates that is no longer the case. Other people complained that the large LED stayed on all the time after powering down (which would be annoying), but you can now turn this off in the options. As for downsides, the built-in speakers are less than impressive (like most TVs in this price range), but it does have an optical output jack for adding a soundbar or bookshelf speakers. Also, viewing the screen from the side will result in a somewhat washed-out appearance. So I wouldn’t recommend this TV for a large living room, where people might be watching from the sides. But for a bedroom where you will be watching it straight-on all the time, it can’t be beat!

    Great for the price. I'm not super-techie so can't really get in to specs. But, picture quality is good & it's easy to use & set up. Only a couple downsides: First, not may options for picture - Only 5 pre-set options (light, lighter, normal, dark, darker), but no 'vivid', 'game', 'movie', or ability to customize picture color/tone at all. It has also shut itself down & restarted while using the Netflix app a couple times in the few months I've owned it. But overall, especially for the price, it's a pretty great tv. Love the 'live tv pause' function as well, when using a USB, since I don't have a DVR (cable tv is a racket...only 'tv' channels I use come from antenna/bunny ears) - But only works with a 3.0 drive, not the standard 2.0 so heads up. Hope this helps!

    We were excited to get a good deal on the tv and especially since it included Roku. The first night we got it, I got to enjoy a few of our favorite shows. I was so happy. However 3 days after the purchase, we had family over. We connected our Nintendo switch and that was it. The screen was completely black. No settings or anything. We disconnected the Nintendo switch and tried using just the tv and nothing. Just black screen. We looked online for tech support and we read how to reset the tv and tried it but nothing. We ended up connecting our old tv and it worked just fine, even when connecting out Nintendo switch. We ended up returning the tv and just kept our old one. Very embarrassing since we had family over and only had the tv for 3 days. Very disappointed.

    I first tried 2 different 4K TV's, a Samsung and a Vizio, that cost about $350 and hated and returned both of them after playing around for 3 days trying to get a decent picture. I did upgrade my Netflix account to see what was so special about watching 4K, didn't really see much of a difference from watching those same shows in 1080p, and everything else looked terrible. Since there's still very little 4K programming I decided to just go with this 1080p and couldn't be happier. Great picture, great color, lots of ports and it's a Roku TV.

    I am currently enduring chemotherapy and it causes me to be quite fatigued and be in bed often throughout the day. I had a 32 inch and just felt recently turning 60 that I deserve a little pampering while on this journey. I love that there are over 100 free streaming channels as I do not have cable and rely heavily on my internet access. The sound quality could be better, but then the price would have been more I'm sure.

    For the size, the price cannot be beat, especially with Roku's simple yet effective interface built right in. Sadly, the remote provided is Roku bare-bones, and pairing with even very intelligent remotes (i.e. Xfinity X1) yields very limited control. And as one would expect at this price point, sound is tinny and lacks any bass. However, for a bedroom or garage TV where sound quality isn't the focus, you can't beat the price for the size and capability!

    To be quite honest, I was a little wary of purchasing this product at first mainly because of the low price I got it for, and because there was not Geek Squad protection available for purchase. But I've honestly been very satisfied with my television thus far. There have been no issues with it, and the quality has been just as good as a much more expensive TV. I'd definitely recommend this for a starter television :)

    I had been looking for an upgrade for my living room television - I was recommended to go to Best buy to look- glad I did I fell in love with the Roku Television and for the price I couldn't turn it down - only thing that im unhappy about with it is it has a tendency to turn itself off as your watching Tv- not sure why but it does it regularly - other than that the color is great and the sound I love it and its actually bigger than what the box looks like.

    This Tv is a great one! In all honesty we did have to exchange this one only because it did not fix into the area that we needed it to go! But we wanted to try hard to keep it! It has great picture, great sound ( we saw this at the website of the TCL and with speaking to the Best Buy associate). Do yourself a favor and measure the depth of the wall you have to work with, everything about the TV fit, except the depth...ugh!

    I have purchased several TCL TVs over the past year. I have been purchasing them for use in Airbnb’s that have high speed internet but no cable/antenna service. The integrated Roku and the price point is what drew me to them which are great. However the picture, GUI, and overall quality has since also impressed me. Makes me question why I am paying so much for high series TVs from other manufactures in my own home.

    I was a bit skeptical about buying an upcoming brand but so far it’s great! Since it comes with Roku, I don’t have the need for cable. I bought this tv for my kids and they love it. I put Netflix and they are able to watch their favorite shows fast and easy. Lastly, the tv is very inexpensive for what it offers. It’s a great buy!

    I have this TV in my bedroom. I love the Roku feature and it has a great picture. The only downside for me (which may not apply to anyone else) is that there is no setting to have the TV turn off at a certain time and turn on at a certain time. I used my previous TV as my alarm clock. That is the only downside to this TCL.

    TCL audio dropout on TWO sets

    First one I bought started exhibiting the well-publicized audio dropout problem within a week. I took it back to Best Buy and got another one. I didn't unbox it for a couple of weeks, and a week after that, the same audio dropout problem appeared. Unfortunately, this was past the 15-day return period so we're stuck with a defective TV.

    Could I watch it all day?

    I could watch it all day. The built in (FREE!) ROKU is killing TV and internet as sources of entertainment. I bought the TV for about as much as three years subscription to ROKU. I specifically bought this model because it is 1080p. 4K screens are overkill. 4K screens have more pixels than our eyes have receptors. I couldn't see a difference.

    What a great price for 55in Smart tv! Slim, light weight and hang perfectly on my bedroom wall. I wasn't sure about this brand did some researching before purchasing and no problems reported, great sound and picture...I did not give it a 5 star because I don't like the remote.

    Love having Roku built in. Easy setup and to use. Great price, and you can even add a usb drive that allows you to pause, rewind, and fast forward live tv via an Antenna (no box or cable) for up to 90 minutes. Better than a similar more expensive tv I recently purchased.

    I recently bought this TV for the office and it is great! It was easy to set up and, once my coworkers understood the small remote, everyone agreed it is very easy to use. Also the Roku OS/Interface is far superior to all other SmartTV interfaces I've used.
