I got this for my kids bedroom and its perfect. The Roku operating system is simple and very snappy. I also realized that the picture settings were missing on the menu page so i didnt think it had any adjustment until i realized to hit the options button while watching a source. That went into the picture settings. Still not very many adjustments but better than nothing. Picture quality is good and is actually 4k with HDR. Best buy doesnt mention HDR on this tv but it is capable, just not all the formats. So the picture quality is only average for one reason, edge lit LED. Go up one range in this brand and you get full array LED. This makes the blacks a lot darker and gives you much more contrast. So in the end, at this price, this is the best tv you can buy.

To be clear, you are not purchasing an OLED nor anything in the "premium" class. This was purchased an 8-year old 1080p TV that worked well until it ended up on the floor. It took a moment to get used to Roku and another to sign in for the various services. The picture is fine in a dimly lit room (spare bedroom). Watch out for glare sources. Amazon and Netflix worked as expected. The Synology app was not quite what I expected based on other platforms and I understand that support ends in a year, making it a bit more difficult, given the limitations of DLNA implementation. The sound quality is fine for the spare bedroom. Overall, a good pick for the right setting.

Although, we had to wait more than ten days to receive our product, because it was shipped from Atlanta, my brother and I, for whom this was a Christmas gift, think it was well worth the wait. It was straightforward and simple to get up and running. The remote control was faultless and for the price, the picture is awesome. It was shipped in a strong and adequate cardboard box. The whole unboxing process went smoothly. Go online and follow the instructions for unboxing as a safety precaution. Highly recommended. Thanks Best Buy.

Nice picture. Easy to set up. Can get app on phone for remote control that actually works. Only negative is that if you have cable box, you need that remote to change cable tv channel.

Can't beat the price! Once of the most responsive "smart TVs" I've seen. Excellent picture.

I bought this for my daughter's room as there is no cable connection in there and just wanted something with streaming services for Netflix and Plex. It works flawlessly over wireless and the picture is great! Listen, I wouldn't but it for the living room or anything, but for this price, 50 inches of 4k with streaming apps built in, and a remote my 4yr old can use, you can't beat it! It's pretty thin too. I have the Sharp equivalent in my son's room and the TCL has a much better picture! Very happy with it!

great picture and sound, the installation was vert easy and took few minutes. Roku connection was very fast and runs trouble free

This is not the best 4K tv. This is not the best HDR tv. This is not even the best smart tv. But, this is definitely the best value for a 4K HDR smart tv. It’s great at most of what it does, without The price tag that comes with all those features. The panel is great. The blacks are okay. There is some light bleed noticeable in dark scenes. The audio is not good. The smart content is great because it is handled by Roku. The remote is great for the roku features but it sucks as a tv remote. But did I mention the value is amazing for a sub-perfect tv.

Usually I stick to well-known brands, such as Samsung and Sony for tv purchases, but a consumer magazine recommended TCL brand in the top 12 recommended tv's because of its pre-installed Roku tv and remote that make transitions easy between different streaming services and antenna or cable tv. When I saw the how much money I could save with TCL brand, I decided to give it a try. It was the right decision. Setup was easy. Transitions truly are seamless and never difficult to figure out. Streaming is great, and Roku can access and handle lots of choices. The picture is bright and sharp (but be sure to choose one with the higher pixel count). I'm thinking of adding a sound bar because the volume seems to decrease as the channel numbers increase if you're using antenna or cable tv. The discrepancy between the loudness of commercials and programming is sometimes overwhelming. Overall, I highly recommend this tv for its features, but the price is also hard to beat in comparison to the big name brands.

Excellent TV for the price; the features that is was alone makes it worth the price

This TV has been great so far with a nice picture and plenty of options to customize it. Roku works great with no issues so far. My PS4 Pro looks amazing with no noticeable input lag. Only negative I'd say is the speakers are not the best but better than the Samsung I replaced, and the Remote is very cheap.

I LOVE this television! The picture is incredibly sharp and the colors are amazing. One of the things that struck me in researching televisions is the importance of the refresh rate. This has a high refresh rate, which makes it an incredible bargain for its class. Quality/price value is incredibly high. Couldn’t be happier.

The picture is great, sounds great, the menu system is easy to use, and it’s easy to download as many apps as you want to.

Bought 2 for each teenage son, they been gaming on em for almost 2 years so these TV's get a workout. They have an excellent picture that isnt noticeably worse than a $1000 tv. Excellent quality and value. Roku is amazing and its hard to find fault with these TCL model's

This set was bought after looking at other's reviews and I am glad I did. The only feature it has that no other tv has is live tv instant play back (if you put a flash drive in the usb port). This was great for the Superbowl! The other feature is that many apps are part of the Roku experience. Not hard to set up- just follow the promps and keep your passwords handy for the apps you may already have ( like the Amazon app). The screen is not as bright as our old Samsung, but we do not notice this in actual use. Plenty bright even during the day. It works great off the apps, off the bluray player (need the separate remote for the Samsung br) and works phenomenally well off the air. It pulls in more stations than the old Samsung. The remote is a small Roku remote ( no number buttons) which gets the job done well. I am going to have to research programing the set to use it on the bluray- don't know if its possible- others say yes. Overall we are very glad we made the move up. And even though it has a long warranty we got the geek squad one also (as the first set had a cracked screen from shipping).

The television itself offers a great picture, and quality HDR at a budget price. Simple and easy to use. The only drawback is the speakers. Nothing a soundbar can't fix, but better of the shelf sound would have been nice. Again, perfect for video games and a solid purchase for that reason alone.

We used a Roku box before purchasing this TV now it’s all included in the TV ! Easy to maneuver between inside antenna,Roku or DVD player . Great picture quality but it does depend on what shows are streaming wether you get 2180 mp or 1080 but still great picture either way . Good TV for great price !!

Love the roku and all the channels you can add. The picture is awesome and sounds great. Going to buy the 55" next.

I have owned 2 similar TCL Roju tv's in a slightly smaller size and knew how well they lasted, and that they were of good quality, but this one is even better! The sound quality is awesome, it was extremely easy to set up, and it has every output that the average person will ever need. I really use the Pause feature many times per day, because I use an over the air antenna. I often pause a show, go do something else, then come back and can watch the whole show, skipping commercials. You do have to keep a USB flash drive in it but it only has to be a 16GB one to save an hour and a half of tv. Don't bother putting a larger one in, it will still only save the same amount of time. Download the free Roku app for your smartphone, as well. It works even better than your remote because you can use it as a speaker and carry it with you, or use earphones if you don't want to disturb someone else while you watch tv, or if you have hearing loss. Don't let the lower price fool you, get the tv. It is a real value.
