The picture is great on this QLED - colors are vivid and deep, the pixels are bright, and everything pops off the screen. DolbyVision HDR adds an extra dimension to 4K movies that is astounding (when available). The Roku TV interface is easy to use and navigate, and it has a great ecosystem of apps. This TV is great for playing video games on a large screen at 4K and 60 fps. Great price, highly recommended!

Pros: - Very bright, visible even in bright rooms - Excellent Game Mode - Strong image clarity and bright colors in bright scenes - Responsive interface Cons: - Accurate colors are nearly impossible without app - Images are blurry and streaky in dark scenes In Dec. 2022, I purchased this TCL 5 Series, model number S555, after my Hisense H8G stopped working after about 2 years. Jumping right in, the TCL 5 Series uses the Roku TV platform which loads apps quickly and is very responsive. Particularly compared to the old Android TV platform, it's a welcome improvement. The image quality is good overall, with some major caveats. The TV is bright enough to be seen even in bright rooms, and in HDR media that's colorful and well lit, the strong brightness allows the colors to really pop. However, the color settings right out of the box were inaccurate, often displaying red colors as magenta. This differed greatly depending on the app and input type. While 4K HDR colors on Disney+ were accurate right out of the box, any 4K content from Google Play (running annoyingly through Youtube due to Roku's lack of support for the Google Play store), was incredibly red. After some failed troubleshooting with the TV's built in settings, I found that the Roku app on my phone contained more advanced color calibration features. Under "Devices," "Expert Picture Settings," then "Color Space," I changed that drop-down to "Auto," which resolved 90% of the issues, and colors are now much more accurate. While I'm satisfied with the color accuracy now, consigning this setting to a mobile app is poor design, and I'm unclear on why the "Auto" setting isn't the default given the enormous improvement. The other downside of the image quality is a blurry, streaky quality to scenes that are particularly dark. This is something that my old HiSense excelled with, and so I was disappointed to take a step back. Even with LED Motion Clarity turned on, dark scenes on the TCL still looked blurry and muddled. This is fairly common with budget LED TVs, but since a 2 year old, non-QLED model outperformed the TCL, there are probably better options on the market. Lastly, the TV handles the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch well. After adjusting the color settings as mentioned above, the color accuracy and overall image quality were strong, and even games upscaled with Steam Deck's built-in FSR look great. I'm not particularly affected by input lag, but it's noticeably snappier than my old HiSense. While it doesn't have 120HZ capability (and VRR is oddly limited to 48-60HZ) that's not a concern with my consoles. During darker sequences in The Witcher 3 on the Steam Deck, the blurry, streaky quality was very pronounced, and looked much better on the Deck itself. To sum up, I was disappointed to see that the overall image quality took a step back from my 2 year old HiSense, and un-intuitive design around color calibration requires significant troubleshooting. However, it's not a bad TV for the price, and the Roku TV platform is stable and responsive. Hopefully long term reliability is better than the HiSense, although I'll likely upgrade in a few years to an OLED model once prices come down.

I bought this TV and i’ve owned it for a year now, and it’s awesome. It has literally everything I could need. This paired with the Xbox Series X is also awesome. It automatically turns on Dolby Vision and Game Mode when I play games, or if I want to use my phone I can screen mirror with air play, or if I want to use roku I can’t do that as well. This TV has every option you could possibly need in a TV. The quality is beautiful and it’s the best TV i’ve ever owned.

We chose this model for it’s reasonable price and the simplicity of the Roku platform. We also like the improvements over the 4 series. The picture is plenty bright and very clear. Sound is not bad for internal speakers. We are pleased with this purchase and Best Buy delivery was great.

I purchased in LG TV which is equivalent to this class 5 series from TCL, I was disappointed with the picture of the LG and it's operating system lagged plenty, it was difficult to navigate around menus and no local dimming. So I took it back to the store and spend just a little more to get this TCL class 5 series which is a great TV. It handles the black levels like a $900 television. It is just great picture all around in the operating system is great. Keep in mind it does have Roku which is in easy and very accommodating operating system I recommend everyone having over fire TV and all other applications.

No complaints, it looks great and it was a good price. Only complaint is it's very bright even on the dimmest setting. But thats not a big deal to me.

This is a really great tv, not sure why it has some bad reviews on other sites!!! I first purchased the Amazon Fire 4K tv on the Black Friday deal, and ended up returning and purchasing the TCL 5 series Qled tv! I set them both up side by side, and as you can tell, the TCL (on the right) is much brighter and crisper! (Even though the picture doesn’t do it a whole lot of justice.) The TCL was very quick and easy to set up, and does have alot of options to tune the picture if it doesn’t quite suit you upon setup! We bought this tv for our RV, and for the price we are very happy!!! Very bright, crisp, fluid picture! This is our first TCL so we’re hoping it’s a great product long term!! After 2 hours in store, and alot of side by side comparison, this tv is really great for the price!

Easy to set up. Roku is a great interface to use. Colors are accurate out of box. Great tv for price. Would definitely recommend!

Got here on time and the picture is so alive and awesome. Built in Roku is a plus instead of having to buy it separately. The audio is also great. I was trying to order the 75" originally but messed up on the order but i have zero regrets.

We have a lot of light in our living room. The smallest QLED 4k Dolby Series 5 was 50”. Great price and works seemlessly with the Sonos sound bar. Roku is fantastic. Beautiful colors and i sm currently rewatching everything!

Love everything about this Roku tv except the numberless remote but getting used to that. Great picture. Not OLED, but close and much less expensive. ROKU presents 1200 free live TV channels! It takes awhile to eliminate most of them, but there are plenty of movie and food channels to choose from.

Great tv has it all would recommend to anyone looking for a top quality TV without paying for the name.

Had for a year now, not a single complaint. Been great for gaming and streaming.

Amazing TV for the price. Everything is top notch but the sound. For some reason with all the sound settings I cant seem to find one that will make the dialog better. There is a dialog enhancing setting but it doesn't help me. Outside of that you cant go wrong here. Maybe I need a hearing aids lol.

I enjoy the tv but don’t necessarily like the blinking from the clicks of the remote. I upgraded from a older tv and the difference in the screens looks amazing too me
