Customers are impressed with the picture quality and ease of use of the 50" Class 5-Series 4K UHD QLED Dolby Vision HDR Smart Roku TV. Many also appreciate the value for the price and the vibrant colors. While some users find the remote could be improved and the viewing angle somewhat limited, the positive feedback on picture quality and user-friendliness outweighs these concerns.

I've been using the TCL 5-Series QLED TV for about a month now, and I'm absolutely loving it. The picture quality is simply stunning, with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and excellent contrast. I've been watching a lot of HDR content on this TV, and it's been a real treat. The Dolby Vision support really make a difference, and the images look incredibly realistic.
I'm also really impressed with the Roku smart TV platform. It's easy to use, and there are tons of apps available. I've been able to find all of my favorite streaming services, and the interface is very user-friendly.
Overall, I'm very happy with the TCL 5-Series QLED TV. It's a great value for the price, and it offers excellent picture quality and a user-friendly smart TV platform. I highly recommend it.

A family member needed a new TV and wanted to get something with a Roku built in. The picture on these is really good. Colors are great and the Roku is nice and simple to use. The price on this was great - you get a lot of TV for the money. Friends recommended the brand and they have a great reputation for quality!! You will not be disappointed if you pick one of these up. One of the best options for this price range.

I purchased this 50" TV for my bedroom. Since this is in my bedroom and used only at night, I really appreciated the different auto-calibrated brightness settings. I set it to the the dark setting and its perfect. The picture is very clean and clear, and Roku interface is easy to use. Seems like a really good price for a solid TV. ***To the reviewer that said they didn't like the clicking when changing selections - that can be turned off in the settings. Roku provides a very customizable interface. Just play around with the settings.

Ive only had this for a few weeks.
Very easy to get set up and get going.
The picture is good , I have it paired with a soundbar. It’s great for streaming.
I’m not a gamer, can’t speak to that
The remote control is basically a Roku style.
Which means no numbers on the handheld remote
This TV replaced a name brand TV that died in 6 years. I paid over 3x for that name brand tv than I did for the TCL. Time will tell

Pros: Really nice picture, gets very bright and the black levels are really good. The sound is good for a flat screen TV.
Cons: The first one I got had some serious issues with the software so I exchanged it. The second one is better in that respect but there's still some issues. I stream, and when rewinding, it again jumps to where I stopped, and when I use the "picture Off" feature, the TV actually turns off. But the biggest issue is that the headphone jack is dead so I can't use it, but I didn't realize it until after the much too short 15 day return policy.
If you buy this TV, make certain that all of the ports work, the ability to rewind works, and make sure that you keep the box.
My other TCL is 4 years old, is still working, and still has no issues.

Great price, picture, and set-up. Extremely easy connections to streaming channels and over the air hook ups. Remote is okay and functional, but needs upgrades. Same with sound and needs speakers for additional enjoyment.

I used TCL 50S555 for 10 days.
The goods:
Its specifications are good and HDR experience is decent with its full array local dimming, wide color gamut and good brightness (~500-600 nits). It is also useful as PC monitor with clear text at 4k and 60Hz rate. It also supports free sync for gaming with lower fps. Roku OS is also easy to use and navigate although I only used it for adjusting picture quality.
The bad:
After working perfectly for a week or so, I encountered black screen problem. As I used it as PC monitor, I kept my PC on all day but turned off TV during long afk. When I turned TV back on again, it flashed an input screen and then turned black. I could still hear the sound from PC and if I shined flash light on that black screen, I could see the icons dimly. Turning on and off for ~5 times would fix the black screen, but it kept happening occasionally during that day when I turned TV off. But the next day, it was working fine again.
After some online research, it turns out that this problem is common among TCL screens. People suggest that it might be a problem with Nvidia input, faulty black lighting or LED circuit. Since it was during return period, I decided not to take risk and replaced it with Sony X85k.
I might be unlucky and got a lemon among many TVs. Still, the picture quality is quite good. Overall, I would rate 4 stars for entry level HDR experience and affordable price. But I decided to take back 1 star due to poor quality control and a problem common among the brand.

The 50" TCL 50S555 is a very good TV for the money. It has great contrast and sharpness. If it had Google TV as the operating system I would gave it 5 stars. The downside for me is the remote which I find very annoying. I keep hitting the mute control when I want to power it off. I also don't get why the the bright light under the logo is on when the unit is off. I also find the advanced picture menu to be awkward.
I use mine as a PC monitor so the narrow viewing angle is not a problem for me. It could be if used as a TV for viewers not in the sweet spot.

This series 5 was very easy to set-up and pair with our Directv Satellite box. With the Directv remote, turns on and off the TV and Box, and adjusts the TV volume. The picture quality in our bright living room is fantastic, and have Netflix, Paramount+, Hulu, and Stars, all signed in and working via Wi-Fi. This TCL is great and highly recommend.

good tv for the price point. The Roku system works great and is easy to use/customize Home Screen/Apps to your liking. picture is good but not amazingly great but thats fine because I didn't pay for a top tier top of the line TV. After over a year I've had zero problems/issues besides the cheap remote it comes with breaking rather easily so I bought the upgraded remote with voice control which is a function is use daily plus its much better quality. Screen doesn't look to be burning out or fading at all. would buy again if getting same sale price.

I ordered this as just a non main room TV. Just for some gaming and news watching while i work. HDR gaming content displays well. Aounds coming out are ok, probably better with a sound bar. But for rhe cosr, the Tv worh the Romu platform nust aorks. Perfecrly. Out od the box. Only 4 stars because for me personally, i dont call this a main TV
