The older TV I had was not good in any bright light. This one is better but not as good as I had expected. It still has glare and brightness issues if used outside. Also the sound is not as loud and clear as my older tv.

I originally was gonna buy 55 and decided well 50 should be ok bu it really is 45. I like the tcl as I hsve a 43 inch. The legs Arent right even though I changed several ways. Awful instructions for stand

Other than that getting the QLED panel for this price is a great value. But it's still a TCL so don't expect LG or Samsung quality. With that being said still a great budget TV you would enjoy for all purposes.

HDR on this set looks good as it actually hits the all important 600 nits of brightness. The 4k capabilities were also very solid. Colors looked good out of the box with the settings at "HDR dark" and "movie" for the proper color tones. Gaming is great and has vrr which helps a lot. The Roku software implementation is horrible. Why TCL keeps using it I'm sure comes down to money, but its the reason I returned this TV. If they would just stick with Android this would be the perfect budget TV.

That being said - depending on the channel that I stream I have to be prepared to adjust the volume. Live TV is the most fickle.
