The picture is very nice, price, size and weight are great, but its oddly laggy. It takes a while for actions to register for some reason, up to multiple seconds. Which unfortunately means inputs get stored sometimes, so youll press back a second time after a few seconds and all the sudden you're completely back at the home menu.

I found the picture quality to be impressive for a budget 4k tv. Movies look good but certain dark scenes can get quite dim, specifically with HDR on, relative to the standard brightness. What sold me is variable refresh rate and the option to play games at 1440p 120hz. So far it performs nicely paired with both a PS5 and a gaming PC. Input lag is super low. Solid budget tv for gaming.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this TCL QLED tv looks in comparison to other higher priced QLED televisions. I have never owned a TCL product and decided to do give ine a try. Biggest bang for the buck in my opinion. This tv holds it’s own against my Sony A80K OLED, which is my main household tv. I could not believe the teue black and the intense colors for such a great price. I would highly recommend this tv to friends amd family!!

I give this 5 stars because of the price paid (about $250 on sale). A friend of mine recently bought a $400 Samsung that can't hold a candle to the picture on this TCL. I have 2 OLEDs which it doesn't even deserve to be in the same room with, but for the price, I think it's excellent. Honestly, the Google interface is MUCH smoother and faster than on my Sony Master Series OLED. I highly recommend this TV for $30p or less. Maybe even $400.

I bought this TV based on the reviews, and it has been amazing for the price! Embedded Google TV runs super slow, but that's pretty common for any TV. Using a Chromecast fixed that issue just fine. Loving the picture and features.

Great TV for the price. Does 120hz in 1080p which is a feature generally reserved for higher end TVs. OS is a bit slow but it's not unbearable.

This television shows a wide array of colors with superb clarity and excellent sound quality without losing clarity when you crank it up to the max! You really feel like you're in the sports venue in sports and in an actual theater when watching your favorite movie. I would recommend this tv to anyone!

I bought this for my very non-tech-savvy mother who wanted to cut the cord (and not pay the crazy Comcast prices). This tv is perfect for her and streaming various apps (as well as local channels via antenna). The picture is bright and vibrant and Google TV isn't super intrusive as an OS. Was super easy to set up for my mom and had her watching tv in under 10 minutes.

TCL 50" Q5. Picture quality is great. Easy set-up. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the processor is on the slow side. While turning it on it take a few seconds more than my more expensive TV's to boot up. Also the time it takes to switch between streaming apps is also slow. once up the TV is great. For less than $260 for a 50" TV smart TV I should not complain.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my son. Him and his wife live the tv. The quality and picture is excellent especially considering the cost was much less than equivalent tv. Best Buy had the best price and store pickup went perfect. For the price you can’t find better picture quality. I personally own all Samsung tvs including the qled and this TCL tv impresses me.

The picture quality at this price point (i got it for less than 200$) is amazing. Both HDR and SDR content look great on the screen. There is also a well implemented game mode for consoles and PCs. You might need to tune the colours a little bit (movie mode helps) to get the best picture. Only complaint would be the slow processor but at this price point it is negligible.

We purchased this TV to replace an incredibly reliable Panasonic Plasma we have had for a VERY long time. The difference is incredible. Clarity and definition is top notch, and the physical size is the same, but the viewable screen is so much bigger. We watch it in a well lit room, and brightness is more than adequate. From sports to movies, to streaming this is a fantastic value for any home. One kooky thing about this TV is that the LED at the bottom is on when the TV is off. Then it turns off when the TV is on. Seems very backward, but doesn't impact function in any way. The one feature that would make it the perfect, do all TV is an HDMI video out. We have a projector with pull-down screen for GIANT sized viewing, and there isn't a TV made right now that has HDMI or other HiDef video output. As a result, we are using this new TCL as a display only. The additional apps. work well, but the functionality is sort of wasted if we can't send the DirecTV and Roku video out to our projector. We have to maintain an HDMI selector/splitter in the configuration, but the TV as a standalone was a tremendous value. If this were a standalone TV in a room, with speakers connected directly to it for source sound, I don't think there is a better buy on the market.

For the price, this is a good tv. The picture is above average and Google TV/Android TV has been easy to use. I bought this to stick in my loft area and it more then serves its purpose. The only issue I have had with it is intermittent wifi connectivity. Sometimes when I use it wifi will stop working and I will need to go to the menu to reconnect it. Not sure what the cause is yet.

I wish I could have given the 50Q550g 3.5 stars but ratings are in whole stars only. This a decent looking qled tv. And as most know by now qleds have deep, rich color. Also, since qled prices have come down from past years, most can now afford them. The Google Tv smart platform is fairly smooth and quick, and so far has no issues I can tell. Depending on one's needs, some may be OK with this as their primary tv. But if you want a better and brighter picture you'll have to pay more. I put this tv in my bedroom and am satisfied with the picture quality. IF YOU'RE INTO GAMING, bear in mind that the 50 inch version does not have TCL'S GAME ACCELERATOR 120 feature. That feature is only on the 55 and 65 inch Q550g models. Also, there are some professional tv reviewers online who can be trusted to give accurate reviews and info. They break down the tv's strengths and weaknesses in depth and can be extremely helpful when trying to decide, so hopefully you won't have to return your tv.

This replaced an older plasma set, which always impressed me with its picture quality. And this TCL has a picture that is an improvement in nearly every way. And setup is extremely simple, as it just needs to find your streaming source. Finding apps is easy. And the remote is simple and straightforward. For the price, an exvellent value.
